1 Bano be basajja abajja eri Dawudi e Zikulagi, gye yali yeekwese Sawulo mutabani wa Kiisi, era be bamu ku bamuyamba mu lutalo.
And these [are] they that came to Sikelag, when he yet kept himself close because of Saul the son of Kis; and these [were] among the mighty, aiding [him] in war,
2 Baalina obusaale, era nga balasa bulungi, n’okuvuumuula nga bavuumuula amayinja n’emikono gyabwe egya ddyo n’egya kkono, ate nga balina oluganda ne Sawulo ow’ekika kya Benyamini.
and [using] the bow with the right hand and with the left, and slingers with stones, and [shooters] with bows. Of the brethren of Saul of Benjamin,
3 Akiyezeeri ye yali omukulu, muganda we Yowaasi n’amuddirira, bombi nga batabani ba Semaa Omugibeya; Yeziyeri ne Pereti batabani ba Azumavesi; Beraka, ne Yeeku Omwanasoni,
the chief [was] Achiezer, and Joas son of Asma the Gabathite, and Joel and Jophalet, sons of Asmoth, and Berchia, and Jeul of Anathoth,
4 ne Isumaya Omugibyoni, omusajja omuzira ku bali amakumi asatu, era omukulu waabwe; ne Yeremiya, ne Yakaziyeri, ne Yokanaani, ne Yozabadi Omugederi;
and Samaias the Gabaonite a mighty man among the thirty, and over the thirty; [and] Jeremia, and Jeziel, and Joanan, and Jozabath of Gadarathiim,
5 ne Eruzayi, ne Yerimosi, ne Beyaliya, ne Semaliya, ne Sefatiya Omukalufu;
Azai and Arimuth, and Baalia, and Samaraia, and Saphatias of Charaephiel,
6 ne Erukaana, ne Issiya, ne Azaleri, ne Yowezeeri, ne Yasobeyamu, Abakoola;
Helcana, and Jesuni, and Ozriel, and Jozara, and Sobocam, and the Corites,
7 ne Yowera ne Zebadiya, batabani ba yerokamu ow’e Gedoli.
and Jelia and Zabadia, sons of Iroam, and the [men] of Gedor.

And from Gad these separated themselves to David from the wilderness, strong mighty men of war, bearing shields and spears, and their faces [were as] the face of a lion, and they were nimble as roes upon the mountains in speed.

Joanan the eighth, Eleazer the ninth,
13 ne Yeremiya nga ye wa kkumi, ne Makubannayi nga ye wa kkumi n’omu.
Jeremia the tenth, Melchabanai the eleventh.
14 Abagaadi abo baali baduumizi ba ggye, era asembayo mu bukulu ng’aduumira ekibinja eky’abantu lukumi.
These [were] chiefs of the army of the sons of Gad, the least one commander of a hundred, and the greatest one of a thousand.
15 Era abo be basajja abaasomoka omugga Yoludaani, mu mwezi ogw’olubereberye, amazzi gaagwo bwe gaabimba ne ganjaala ku ttale ne bagoba abo bonna abaabeeranga mu biwonvu, ebuvanjuba era n’ebugwanjuba.
These [are] the [men] that crossed over Jordan in the first month, and it had overflowed all its banks; and they drove out all the inhabitants of the valleys, from the east to the west.
16 Abamu ku basajja ba Benyamini ne Yuda nabo beegatta ku Dawudi mu kigo kye.
And there came [some] of the sons of Benjamin and Juda to the assistance of David.
17 Dawudi n’afuluma okubasisinkana, n’abagamba nti, “Bwe muba muzze gye ndi mu mirembe, okunyamba, ndimwetegefu okubasembeza. Naye obanga muzze okundyamu olukwe eri abalabe bange, ate nga sirina musango, Katonda wa bajjajjaffe akirabe era abanenye.”
And David went out to meet them, and said to them, If you are come peaceably to me, let my heart be at peace with you: but if [you are come] to betray me to my enemies unfaithfully, the God of your fathers look upon it, and reprove it.
18 Awo Omwoyo n’aka ku Amasayi, omukulu w’abo amakumi asatu, n’ayogera nti, “Ffe tuli babo, Dawudi! Tuli naawe, Omwana wa Yese! Obuwanguzi, Obuwanguzi gy’oli; era Obuwanguzi bubeere eri abo abakuyamba, kubanga Katonda wo ajja kukubeera.” Awo Dawudi n’abaaniriza era n’abafuula bakungu mu ggye lye.
And the Spirit came upon Amasai, a captain of the thirty, and he said, Go, David, son of Jesse, you and your people, peace, peace be to you, and peace to your helpers, for your God has helped you. And David received them, and made them captains of the forces.
19 Abasajja abamu ab’ekika kya Manase ne badda ku ludda lwa Dawudi, bwe yagenda n’Abafirisuuti okutabaala Sawulo newaakubadde nga ye n’abasajja be tebayamba Abafirisuuti kubanga oluvannyuma lw’okwetesaganyaamu, abakungu b’Abafirisuuti baamugoba. Baagamba nti, “Bw’anadda ku ludda lwa mukama we Sawulo, tunaagwa mu katyabaga.”
And [some] came to David from Manasse, when the Philistines came against Saul to war: and he helped them not, because the captains of the Philistines took counsel, saying, With the heads of those men will he return to his master Saul.
20 Dawudi bwe yali ng’agenda e Zikulagi, abasajja ab’ekika kya Manase abaasalawo okumwegattako baali: Aduna, ne Yozabadi, ne Yediyayaeri, ne Mikayiri, ne Yozabadi, ne Eriku, ne Zirresayi, n’abakungu abaakuliranga ebibinja eby’olukumi mu Manase.
When David was going to Sikelag, there came to him of Manasse, Edna and Jozabath, and Rodiel, and Michael, and Josabaith, and Elimuth, and Semathi: [these] are the captains of thousands of Manasse.
21 Baayamba nnyo Dawudi okulwana n’ebibinja bya bayeekera, kubanga bonna baali baserikale bazira, ate nga baduumizi mu ggye lye.
And they fought on the side of David against a troop, for they [were] all men of might; and they were commanders in the army, [because] of [their] might.
22 Buli lwakyanga nga wabeerawo abasajja abajja okuyamba ate era n’okwegatta ku Dawudi, okutuusa eggye lye bwe lyafuuka eddene, ery’amaanyi.
For daily men came to David, [till they amounted] to a great force, as the force of God.
23 Guno gwe muwendo gw’abasajja abaali beetegekedde olutalo abajja eri Dawudi e Kebbulooni, okuggya obwakabaka ku Sawulo okubumuwa, ng’ekigambo kya Mukama bwe kyali:
And these [are] the names of the commanders of the army, who came to David to Chebron, to turn the kingdom of Saul to him according to the word of the Lord.
24 abasajja ba Yuda abaakwatanga engabo n’effumu baali kakaaga mu lunaana abeetegese okulwana;
The sons of Juda, bearing shields and spears, six thousand and eight hundred mighty in war.
25 abasajja ba Simyoni, baali kasanvu mu kikumi;
Of the sons of Symeon mighty for battle, seven thousand and a hundred.
26 abasajja ba Leevi, enkumi nnya mu lukaaga;
Of the sons of Levi, four thousand and six hundred.
27 ng’omwo mwe muli Yekoyaada omukulu w’ennyumba ya Alooni n’abasajja enkumi ssatu mu lusanvu;
And Joadas the chief [of the family] of Aaron, and with him three thousand and seven hundred.
28 ne Zadooki omuvubuka omulwanyi era omuzira, n’abakungu okuva mu nnyumba ye amakumi abiri mu babiri.
And Sadoc, a young [man] mighty in strength, and [there were] twenty-two leaders of his father's house.
29 Abalala baali abasajja aba Benyamini, baganda ba Sawulo, nga bali enkumi ssatu, era okutuusa ku lunaku olwo abo baali banyweredde ku ludda lwa Sawulo;
And of the sons of Benjamin, the brethren of Saul, three thousand: and still the greater part of them kept the guard of the house of Saul.
30 abasajja aba Efulayimu, abalwanyi abazira, ng’era batutumufu mu nda zaabwe, baali emitwalo ebiri mu lunaana;
And of the sons of Ephraim, twenty thousand and eight hundred mighty men, famous in the houses of their fathers.
31 abasajja ku kitundu eky’ekika kya Manase, abaayatulwa erinnya okujja okufuula Dawudi kabaka baali omutwalo gumu mu kanaana;
And of the half-tribe of Manasse, eighteen thousand, even [those] who were named by name, to make David king.
32 abasajja aba Isakaali abategeera ebiseera, ne bamanya ebigwanidde Isirayiri baali abakulembeze ebikumi bibiri, n’ab’eŋŋanda zaabwe bonna abaabagobereranga;
And of the sons of Issachar having wisdom with regard to the times, knowing what Israel should do, two hundred; and all their brethren with them.
33 abasajja aba Zebbulooni, nga baserikale bamanyirivu mu by’entalo, nga balina buli kya kulwanyisa kyonna, abayamba Dawudi n’omutima gumu baali emitwalo etaano;
And of Zabulon they that went out to battle, with all weapons of war, [were] fifty thousand to help David, not weak-handed.
34 abasajja aba Nafutaali baali abakulu lukumi, n’abasajja abaakwatanga engabo n’amafumu nga bali emitwalo esatu mu kasanvu;
And of Nephthali a thousand captains, and with them [men] with shields and spears, thirty-seven thousand.
35 abasajja aba Ddaani baali emitwalo ebiri mu kanaana mu lukaaga;
And of the Danites [men] ready for war twenty-eight thousand and eight hundred.
36 abasajja aba Aseri, nga baserikale bamanyirivu mu ntalo baali emitwalo ena;
And of Aser, they that went out to give aid in war, forty thousand.
37 emitala wa Yoludaani, wavaayo abasajja aba Lewubeeni, aba Gaadi, n’ekitundu ky’ekika kya Manase, abaalina ebyokulwanyisa ebya buli ngeri, nga bali emitwalo kkumi n’ebiri.
And from the country beyond Jordan, from Ruben, and the Gadites, and from the half-tribe of Manasse, a hundred and twenty thousand, with all weapons of war.
38 Abo bonna baali basajja balwanyi abeewaayo mu bitiibwa byabwe. Ne bajja e Kebbulooni okuweereza n’okufuula Dawudi kabaka wa Isirayiri yenna.
All these [were] men of war, setting [the army] in battle array, with a peaceful mind [towards him], and they came to Chebron to make David king over all Israel: and the rest of Israel [were of] one mind to make David king.
39 Eyo ne bamalayo ennaku ssatu ne Dawudi nga balya, nga banywa, ebyo ab’eŋŋanda zaabwe bye baali babasibiridde.
And they were there three days eating and drinking, for their brethren [had] made preparations.
40 Ate era waaliyo ne baliraanwa baabwe ab’e Isakaali, ne Zebbulooni, ne Nafutaali abaabaleeteranga emmere ku ndogoyi, ne ku ŋŋamira, ne ku nnyumbu ne ku nte, era baalina eŋŋaano nnyingi, ne keeke ez’ettiini, n’ebirimba eby’ezabbibu, n’omwenge, n’amafuta, n’ente n’endiga. Baasanyuka essanyu lingi nnyo nnyini mu Isirayiri.
And their neighbors, as far as Issachar and Zabulon and Nephthali, brought to them upon camels, and asses, and mules, and upon calves, food, meal, cakes of figs, raisins, wine, and oil, calves and sheep abundantly: for [there was] joy in Israel.
