< Barome 7 >

1 Bandeko—nazali koloba na bato oyo bayebi Mobeko— bobosani ete Mobeko ezalaka na nguya likolo ya moto kaka na tango oyo azali na bomoi?
Are ye ignorant, brethren, (for I speak to those knowing law, ) that law rules over a man as long as he lives?
2 Ndakisa: Mobeko ekangisaka mwasi ya libala na mobali na ye, wana mobali yango azali na bomoi. Kasi soki mobali akufi, mwasi akangolami na mobeko oyo ezalaki kokangisa ye na mobali.
For the married woman is bound by law to her husband so long as he is alive; but if the husband should die, she is clear from the law of the husband:
3 Boye soki, wana mobali na ye azali nanu na bomoi, akomi mwasi ya mobali mosusu, bakoloba ete asali ekobo. Kasi soki mobali na ye akufi, akangolami libela na mobeko yango mpe akoki kokoma mwasi ya mobali mosusu; boye bakoloba te ete asali ekobo.
so then, the husband being alive, she shall be called an adulteress if she be to another man; but if the husband should die, she is free from the law, so as not to be an adulteress, though she be to another man.
4 Ndenge wana mpe mpo na bino bandeko na ngai: bosila mpe kokufa mpo na Mobeko na nzela ya nzoto ya Klisto mpo ete bokoma bato ya moto mosusu, ya Ye oyo asekwaki kati na bakufi, mpo ete tobota bambuma mpo na Nzambe.
So that, my brethren, ye also have been made dead to the law by the body of the Christ, to be to another, who has been raised up from among [the] dead, in order that we might bear fruit to God.
5 Pamba te wana tozalaki nanu kotambola kolanda baposa ya nzoto, Mobeko ezalaki kotindika biso na baposa ya mabe oyo ezalaki kosala mosala na yango kati na biteni ya banzoto na biso mpo ete tobota bambuma oyo ememaka na kufa.
For when we were in the flesh the passions of sins, which [were] by the law, wrought in our members to bring forth fruit to death;
6 Kasi sik’oyo, lokola tokufi mpo na nguya oyo ezalaki kokanga biso na bowumbu, tokangolami na nguya ya Mobeko mpo ete tosalela Nzambe na lolenge ya sika ya Molimo, kasi na lolenge ya kala ya mokanda ya Mobeko te.
but now we are clear from the law, having died in that in which we were held, so that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in oldness of letter.
7 Boye toloba nini? Mobeko ekomi nde lisumu? Soki moke te! Soki Mobeko ezalaki te, nalingaki mpe koyeba lisumu te. Pamba te soki Mobeko elobaki te: « Okolulaka te, » nalingaki mpe koyeba te soki kolula ezali penza nini.
What shall we say then? [is] the law sin? Far be the thought. But I had not known sin, unless by law: for I had not had conscience also of lust unless the law had said, Thou shalt not lust;
8 Nzokande, lokola lisumu ezwaka nguya na esika oyo mitindo ezali, lisumu ebotaki kati na ngai lolenge nyonso ya baposa ya mabe. Pamba te soki Mobeko ezali te, lisumu mpe ezali na nguya te.
but sin, getting a point of attack by the commandment, wrought in me every lust; for without law sin [was] dead.
9 Na kala, tango Mobeko ezalaki te, nazalaki na bomoi; kasi tango mitindo eyei, lisumu mpe ezwi nguya, mpe ngai nakufi.
But I was alive without law once; but the commandment having come, sin revived, but I died.
10 Bongo mitindo oyo esengelaki komema na bomoi ememi ngai na kufa.
And the commandment, which [was] for life, was found, [as] to me, itself [to be] unto death:
11 Pamba te lokola lisumu ezwaka nguya na esika oyo mitindo ezali, lisumu ekosaki ngai mpe ememaki ngai na kufa na nzela ya mitindo.
for sin, getting a point of attack by the commandment, deceived me, and by it slew [me].
12 Boye, Mobeko ezali bule, mpe mitindo ezali bule, sembo mpe malamu.
So that the law indeed [is] holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.
13 Boni, eloko ya malamu ekoki solo komemela ngai kufa? Soki moke te! Nzokande, mpo ete lisumu eyebana ete ezali lisumu, mpe mpo ete elakisa mabe na yango na nzela ya mitindo, esalelaki eloko oyo ezali malamu mpo ete lisumu yango epesa ngai kufa.
Did then that which is good become death to me? Far be the thought. But sin, that it might appear sin, working death to me by that which is good; in order that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful.
14 Toyebi ete Mobeko epesamaki na nzela ya Molimo na Nzambe; kasi ngai nazali kaka moto, natekama mpo na kozala mowumbu ya lisumu.
For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am fleshly, sold under sin.
15 Nasosolaka te makambo oyo nasalaka: oyo nalingaka kosala, nasalaka yango te; kasi oyo nayinaka, yango nde nasalaka.
For that which I do, I do not own: for not what I will, this I do; but what I hate, this I practise.
16 Mpe soki nasalaka makambo oyo naboyaka kosala, wana nandimi ete Mobeko ezali malamu.
But if what I do not will, this I practise, I consent to the law that [it is] right.
17 Lokola ezali bongo, emonani ete ezali ngai te moto nasalaka yango, kasi ezali nde lisumu oyo evandaka kati na ngai.
Now then [it is] no longer I [that] do it, but the sin that dwells in me.
18 Pamba te nayebi malamu ete bolamu evandaka kati na ngai te, elingi koloba: evandaka kati na nzoto na ngai te. Nazalaka na posa ya kosala bolamu, kasi nazangaka nguya ya kokokisa yango.
For I know that in me, that is, in my flesh, good does not dwell: for to will is there with me, but to do right [I find] not.
19 Nasalaka te bolamu oyo nalingaka kosala, kasi nasalaka nde mabe oyo naboyaka kosala.
For I do not practise the good that I will; but the evil I do not will, that I do.
20 Soki sik’oyo nasali makambo oyo naboyaka kosala, ezali lisusu ngai te moto nasali yango, kasi ezali nde lisumu oyo evandaka kati na ngai.
But if what I do not will, this I practise, [it is] no longer I [that] do it, but the sin that dwells in me.
21 Boye, namonaka mobeko oyo kosala kati na ngai: soki nalingi kosala bolamu, ezali mabe kaka nde nakosala.
I find then the law upon me who will to practise what is right, that with me evil is there.
22 Pamba te kati na motema na ngai, nasepelaka na Mobeko ya Nzambe;
For I delight in the law of God according to the inward man:
23 kasi kati na biteni ya nzoto na ngai, namonaka mobeko mosusu kobundisa mobeko ya makanisi ya motema na ngai mpe kokomisa ngai mowumbu ya mobeko ya lisumu oyo ezali kosala kati na biteni ya nzoto na ngai.
but I see another law in my members, warring in opposition to the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which exists in my members.
24 Oh ngai moto na mawa! Nani akokangola ngai na nzoto oyo ya kufa?
O wretched man that I [am]! who shall deliver me out of this body of death?
25 Tika ete matondi epesamela Nzambe oyo akangolaka ngai na nzela ya Yesu-Klisto, Nkolo na biso! Na mokuse, nakoki koloba ete, na nzela ya mayele na ngai, nazali mowumbu ya Mobeko ya Nzambe, kasi na nzela ya bomoto na ngai ya masumu, nazali mowumbu ya mobeko ya lisumu.
I thank God, through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then I myself with the mind serve God's law; but with the flesh sin's law.
