< Banzembo 94 >

1 Yawe, Nzambe oyo azongisaka mabe na mabe, Nzambe oyo azongisaka mabe na mabe, mimonisa kati na nkembo na Yo!
O God, of vengeance, Lord! O God of vengeance, shine forth.
2 Mosambisi ya mokili, telema mpo na kozongisela bato ya lolendo mabe na mabe na bango!
Lift up thyself, O judge of the Earth! bring a recompense upon the proud.
3 Yawe, kino tango nini bato mabe, kino tango nini bato mabe bakosepela?
How long shall the wicked, O Lord—how long shall the wicked exult?
4 Bazali komilakisa, bazali kobimisa mafinga; bato nyonso ya misala mabe bazali komikumisa!
They sputter, they speak hard things: all the workers of wickedness boast themselves.
5 Yawe, bazali konyokola bato na Yo mpe bazali koyokisa libula na Yo pasi;
Thy people, O Lord! they crush, and thy heritage they afflict.
6 bazali koboma mwasi oyo akufisa mobali, mopaya mpe bana bitike;
The widow and the stranger they slay, and the fatherless they murder.
7 bazali koloba: « Yawe amonaka eloko moko te, Nzambe ya Jakobi asosolaka eloko moko te! »
And they say, The Lord will not see, and the God of Jacob will not take notice of it.
8 Bino bato ya kilikili, bososola! Bazoba, bokokoma mayele tango nini?
Understand, ye brutish among the people: and ye fools, when will ye become intelligent!
9 Boni, Ye oyo asala litoyi akoki koyoka te? Ye oyo asala liso akoki komona te?
He that hath planted the ear, shall he not hear? or he that hath formed the eye, shall he not see?
10 Ye oyo apesaka bikolo etumbu akoki kopesa etumbu te? Ye oyo apesaka bato boyebi.
He that admonisheth nations, shall he not correct? is it not he that teacheth man knowledge!
11 Yawe ayebi makanisi ya bato; ayebi ete ezali na tina te.
The Lord knoweth the thoughts of man, that they are nought.
12 Yawe, esengo na moto oyo ozali kozongisa na nzela, moto oyo ozali kolakisa mibeko na Yo
Happy is the man whom thou admonisheth, O Lord, and teachest him out of thy law:
13 mpo na kopesa ye bopemi na tango ya pasi, kino libulu etimolama mpo na moto mabe!
That thou mayest grant him repose from the days of evil, until the pot be dug for the wicked.
14 Pamba te Yawe asundolaka bato na Ye te, abwakaka libula na Ye te.
For the Lord will not cast off his people, and his inheritance will he not forsake.
15 Bakosambisa lisusu kolanda bosembo, mpe bato nyonso oyo bazali na mitema alima bakotosa bosembo yango.
For unto righteousness will justice return; and it shall be followed by all the upright in heart.
16 Nani akotelema mpo na ngai mpo na kotelemela bato mabe? Nani akokotela ngai liboso ya bato ya misala mabe?
Who will rise up for me against evil-doers? or who will stand forward for me against the workers of wickedness?
17 Ah, soki Yawe asungaki ngai te, mbele nakendeki noki na mokili ya kufa!
Unless the Lord had been a help unto me, but a little would have been wanting that my soul had dwelt in the silence of death.
18 Soki nalobi: « Makolo na ngai ekomi kolenga na somo, » bolingo na Yo, Yawe, epesaka ngai makasi.
When I said, My foot hath slipped: thy kindness, O Lord, sustained me.
19 Soki natungisami na makanisi ebele, kobondisama na Yo epesaka ngai esengo.
In the multitude of my [painful] thoughts within me, thy consolations delight my soul.
20 Boni, bokonzi ya mabe oyo ememelaka bato pasi na nzela ya mibeko na yango; boni, ezali lisanga moko elongo na Yo?
Can there be associated with thee the throne of destructive wickedness, which frameth mischief as a law?
21 Bato mabe basanganaka mpo na kobundisa bomoi ya moto ya sembo mpe kokatela moto oyo asali mabe te etumbu ya kufa.
They band themselves together against the soul of the righteous, and innocent blood do they condemn.
22 Kasi Yawe azali, mpo na ngai, ndako batonga makasi; Nzambe na ngai azali libanga epai wapi nazwaka ebombamelo.
But the Lord is become my defence, and my God, the rock of my refuge.
23 Akozongisela bango mabe na bango mpe akobebisa bango mpo na kanza na bango. Solo, Yawe, Nzambe na ngai, akoboma bango.
And he will bring back upon them their own injustice, and in their own wickedness will he destroy them: [yea], he will destroy them—the Lord our God.
