1 Losambo ya Moyize, moto na Nzambe. Oh Nkolo, ozalaki ekimelo na biso, na bikeke nyonso.
A prayer of Moses, the man of God. Lord, you have been a home to us one generation after another.
2 Liboso ete bangomba ezala, liboso ete okela mabele mpe mokili, libela na libela, ozali Nzambe.
Before the mountains were born, or the earth and the world were brought forth, from everlasting to everlasting you are God.
3 Ozongisaka moto na putulu, pamba te oloba: « Bino bato, bozonga na putulu! »
You bring us back to the dust, you summon mortals to return.
4 Na miso na Yo, mibu nkoto moko ezali lokola mokolo ya lobi oyo esili koleka, lokola ngonga moko ya butu.
For you see a thousand years as the passing of yesterday, as a watch in the night.
5 Olekisaka yango lokola pongi ya butu, oyo na tongo, esilaka lokola lititi.
Your floods sweep them away; they are like a dream, or like grass which sprouts in the morning,
6 Na tongo, ebimisaka fololo mpe etelaka noki; kasi na pokwa, enzulukaka mpe ekawuki.
which blossoms and sprouts in the morning, but by evening is cut and withered.
7 Kanda na Yo elembisaka biso nzoto, mpe kanda makasi na Yo epesaka biso bobangi.
For your anger consumes us, the heat of your wrath confounds us.
8 Otiaka masumu na biso liboso na Yo mpe obimisaka na polele makambo oyo tobombaka.
Our sins you have set before you, our secrets in the light of your face.
9 Mikolo nyonso ya bomoi na biso elimwaka mpo na kanda na Yo, mpe mibu na biso esilaka lokola kolela.
For through your wrath our days are declining, we bring our years to an end as a sigh.
10 Molayi ya bomoi na biso ekoki kozala mibu tuku sambo to mibu tuku mwambe mpo na bato oyo baleki makasi; nzokande, etondi na pasi mpe na minyoko, pamba te elekaka noki, mpe tolimwaka.
The span of our life is seventy years, or, if we are strong, maybe eighty; yet is their breadth but empty toil, for swiftly they go, and we fly away.
11 Nani ayebi makasi ya kanda na Yo? Moto oyo azalaka na botosi mingi epai na Yo asosolaka malamu kanda makasi na Yo.
Who lays to heart the power of your anger? Or who stands in reverent awe of your wrath?
12 Lakisa biso kotanga malamu mikolo ya bomoi na biso mpo ete tokoma na mitema ya bwanya.
O teach us to count our days so our minds may learn wisdom.
13 Yawe, lembisa moke! Kino tango nini ekowumela? Yokela basali na Yo mawa!
Return, O Lord; why so long? Relent on your servants.
14 Tongo nyonso, tondisaka biso na bolingo na Yo mpe tokoganga na esengo, mpe tokosepela mikolo nyonso ya bomoi na biso.
Grant us your love to the full in the morning, that all our days we may shout for joy.
15 Zongisela biso na mikolo ya esengo, mikolo oyo onyokolaki biso; zongisela biso na mibu ya esengo, mibu oyo tomonaki pasi.
Make us glad for the days you have humbled us, for the evil years we have seen.
16 Tika ete biso, basali na Yo, tomona misala na Yo; mpe ete bana na biso bamona kongenga makasi ya nkembo na Yo!
Let your servants see you in action, show your majesty to their children.
17 Tika ete boboto ya Nkolo, Nzambe na biso, ezala elongo na biso! Mpo na biso, sala ete misala na biso ekende liboso! Iyo, sala ete misala na biso ekende kaka liboso!
Let the grace of the Lord our God be upon us, uphold what our hands are striving to do.
