1 Nzembo ya Davidi. Bopesa Yawe, bino ba-anjelu ya Nzambe, bopesa Yawe nkembo mpe makasi.
You angels in heaven, praise Yahweh! Praise him because he is very glorious and powerful.
2 Bopesa Yawe nkembo oyo ekoki na lokumu ya Kombo na Ye; bogumbamela Yawe kati na kongenga ya bosantu na Ye.
Proclaim that (he/his name) is glorious; bow down before Yahweh in his holy [temple].
3 Mongongo ya Yawe eyokani na likolo ya mayi, Nzambe ya nkembo azali koleka elongo na lokito, Yawe azali koleka elongo na lokito na likolo ya mayi minene.
Yahweh’s voice is heard above the oceans; Yahweh, the glorious God, thunders. His voice thunders over the huge oceans [DOU].
4 Mongongo ya Yawe ezali na nguya; mongongo ya Yawe ezali na lokumu mingi.
His voice is powerful and majestic.
5 Mongongo ya Yawe ebukaka banzete ya sedele; Yawe abukaka banzete ya sedele ya Libani.
The sound of Yahweh’s voice breaks great cedar trees, the cedars that grow in Lebanon.
6 Apumbwisaka Libani lokola mwana ngombe, apumbwisaka Sirioni lokola mwana ya mpakasa.
He causes [the mountains in] Lebanon to jump like calves jump, and causes Hermon [Mountain] to jump like a young bull jumps.
7 Mongongo ya Yawe ebimaka elongo na bakake ya moto.
Yahweh’s voice causes lightning to flash.
8 Mongongo ya Yawe elengisaka esobe; Yawe alengisaka Esobe ya Kadeshi.
His voice causes the desert to shake; he shakes Kadesh Desert [in the southern part of Judah].
9 Mongongo ya Yawe esalaka ete mboloko ebota, esalaka mpe ete zamba etikala pamba. Kati na Tempelo ya Yawe, nyonso egangaka: « Nkembo! »
Yahweh’s voice shakes the huge oak trees and strips the leaves from the trees while the people in the temple shout, “Praise [God]!”
10 Yawe avandaki na Kiti ya Bokonzi na likolo ya mpela; Yawe avandi na Kiti ya Bokonzi lokola Mokonzi mpo na libela.
Yahweh ruled over the flood [that covered the earth]; he is our King who will rule forever.
11 Yawe apesaka bato na Ye makasi; Yawe apambolaka bato na Ye na nzela ya kimia.
Yahweh enables his people to be strong, and he blesses them by causing things to go well for them.
