1 Bokumisa Yawe! Oh molimo na ngai, kumisa Yawe!
Praise Yahweh! With my whole inner being I will praise Yahweh.
2 Nakokumisa Yawe bomoi na ngai mobimba, nakosanzola Nzambe na ngai tango nyonso nakozala na bomoi.
I will praise Yahweh as long as I am alive; I will sing to praise my God for [the rest of] my life.
3 Botia elikya te na bakambi to na bato oyo bazangi makoki ya kobikisa.
[You people], do not trust in your leaders; do not trust humans because they cannot save/rescue you [from your difficulties/problems].
4 Soki bakufi, bazongaka na mabele, mpe, mbala moko, mabongisi na bango elimwaka.
And when they die, their corpses [decay and] become soil again. After they die, they can no longer do the things that they planned to do.
5 Esengo na moto oyo Nzambe ya Jakobi azali mosungi na ye, oyo atiaka elikya na ye kati na Yawe, Nzambe na ye!
But those whose helper is the God whom Jacob [worshiped] are happy. The one whom they confidently expect [to help them] is Yahweh, their God.
6 Yawe akelaki Likolo mpe mabele, ebale monene mpe nyonso oyo ezali kati na yango; azali sembo seko na seko.
He is the one who created heaven and the earth and the oceans and all [the creatures] that are in them. He always does what he has promised to do.
7 Yawe akataka na sembo makambo ya banyokolami mpe apesaka bilei na bato oyo bazali na nzala; abimisaka bakangami na boloko.
He decides matters fairly for those who are (treated unfairly/oppressed), and he provides food for those who are hungry. He frees those who are in prison.
8 Yawe abikisaka miso ya bakufi miso; Yawe asembolaka bato oyo bazali ya kogumbama; Yawe alingaka bato ya sembo.
Yahweh enables those who are blind to see again. He lifts up those who have fallen down. He loves righteous [people].
9 Yawe abatelaka bapaya, asungaka mwana etike mpe mwasi oyo akufisa mobali, kasi abebisaka banzela ya bato mabe.
Yahweh takes care of those from other countries who live in our land, and he helps widows and orphans. But he gets rid of wicked [people].
10 Yawe azali Mokonzi seko na seko; Nzambe na yo, oh Siona, libela na libela! Bokumisa Yawe!
Yahweh will [continue to] be our king forever; you people of Israel, your God will rule forever! Praise Yahweh!
