1 Nzembo ya mobembo tango bazalaki kokende na Tempelo ya Yawe. Natomboli miso na ngai na ngambo ya bangomba: lisungi na ngai ekowuta wapi?

A song for pilgrims going up to Jerusalem. I look to the hills—but is that where my help comes from?

2 Lisungi na ngai ewutaka na Yawe oyo akela likolo mpe mabele.

My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.

3 Akotika te ete lokolo na yo eselumuka; Ye oyo abatelaka yo animbaka te.

He will not let you fall; he who watches over you won't fall asleep.

4 Te, Ye oyo abatelaka Isalaele animbaka te mpe alalaka pongi te!

In fact he who watches over you doesn't take naps or fall asleep.

5 Yawe azali mobateli na yo; Yawe azali, na ngambo ya loboko na yo ya mobali, lokola elili oyo ebatelaka yo.

The Lord keeps watch over you; the Lord protects you; he stands right beside you.

6 Ezala na moyi to na butu, moyi mpe sanza ekosala yo mabe ata moke te!

The sun won't hurt you during the day, nor the moon at night.

7 Yawe akobatela yo na mabe nyonso, akobatela bomoi na yo;

The Lord will protect you from all kinds of evil; he will keep you safe and sound.

8 Yawe akobatela kokende mpe kozonga na yo, sik’oyo mpe libela na libela.

The Lord will look after you when you leave, and when you return, now and forever.
