< Masese 9 >
1 Bwanya atongi ndako na ye, atelemisi yango na makonzi sambo;
Wisdom hath built her house, she hath hewn out her seven pillars:
2 abomi banyama na ye, akamoli masanga na ye ya vino mpe, na sima, atandi mesa.
She hath killed her beasts; she hath mingled her wine; she hath also furnished her table.
She hath sent forth her maidens: she crieth upon the highest places of the city,
4 « Tika ete moto nyonso oyo azangi mayele aya awa! » Atindi maloba epai ya bato oyo bazangi bososoli:
Whoever [is] simple, let him turn in hither: [as for] him that wanteth understanding, she saith to him,
5 « Boya kolia bilei na ngai mpe komela vino oyo nakamoli,
Come, eat of my bread, and drink of the wine [which] I have mingled.
Forsake the foolish, and live; and go in the way of understanding.
7 Moto nyonso oyo apamelaka motioli amilukelaka kosambwa, moto nyonso oyo apamelaka moto mabe amilukelaka ngambo.
He that reproveth a scorner, getteth to himself shame: and he that rebuketh a wicked [man getteth] himself a blot.
8 Kopamela motioli te, noki te akoyina yo; kasi pamela moto ya bwanya, mpe akolinga yo.
Reprove not a scorner, lest he shall hate thee: rebuke a wise man, and he will love thee.
Give [instruction] to a wise [man], and he will be yet wiser: teach a just [man], and he will increase in learning.
10 Kotosa Yawe ezali mosisa ya bwanya; koyeba Mosantu, yango nde kozala mayele.
The fear of the LORD [is] the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy [is] understanding.
For by me thy days shall be multiplied, and the years of thy life shall be increased.
If thou art wise, thou shalt be wise for thyself: but [if] thou scornest, thou alone shalt bear [it].
13 Mwasi ya zoba azali mwasi ya makelele, ayokaka te mpe azanga mayele,
A foolish woman [is] clamorous: [she is] simple, and knoweth nothing.
For she sitteth at the door of her house, on a seat in the high places of the city,
15 mpo na kobenga baleki nzela, bato oyo bazali kokende na nzela na bango.
To call passengers who go right on their ways:
16 Tika ete moto oyo azangi mayele aya awa! Atindi maloba epai ya bato oyo bazanga bososoli:
Whoever [is] simple, let him turn in hither: and [as for] him that wanteth understanding, she saith to him,
17 « Mayi oyo bayibi ezalaka elengi, mpe lipa oyo baliaka na kobombama ezalaka kitoko. »
Stolen waters are sweet, and bread [eaten] in secret is pleasant.
(Sheol )
But he knoweth not that the dead [are] there; [and that] her guests [are] in the depths of hell. (Sheol )
