1 Moto oyo atiaka moto makasi soki bapameli ye, akokweyisama na pwasa mpe akobika te.
He who is often rebuked and stiffens his neck will be destroyed suddenly, with no remedy.
2 Soki bato ya sembo bakomi ebele, bato basepelaka; kasi soki bato mabe bakomi koyangela, bato balelaka.
When the righteous thrive, the people rejoice; but when the wicked rule, the people groan.
3 Moto oyo alingaka bwanya asalaka esengo ya tata na ye, kasi moto oyo alandaka basi ya ndumba akosilisa bomengo na ye nyonso.
Whoever loves wisdom brings joy to his father; but a companion of prostitutes squanders his wealth.
4 Mokonzi oyo akambaka na bosembo ayeisaka kimia na mokili na ye, kasi mokonzi oyo afutisaka mpako ebele abebisaka mokili yango.
The king by justice makes the land stable, but he who takes bribes tears it down.
5 Moto oyo alobaka na moninga na ye maloba ya sukali atielaka ye motambo na se ya matambe.
A man who flatters his neighbor spreads a net for his feet.
6 Lisumu ya moto mabe ezalaka na motambo, kasi moto ya sembo agangaka na esengo mpe asepelaka.
An evil man is snared by his sin, but the righteous can sing and be glad.
7 Moto ya sembo ayebaka pasi ya babola, kasi moto mabe ayebaka na ye kutu yango te.
The righteous care about justice for the poor. The wicked aren’t concerned about knowledge.
8 Batioli batiaka mobulu kati na engumba, kasi bato ya bwanya basilisaka kanda.
Mockers stir up a city, but wise men turn away anger.
9 Soki moto ya bwanya akei kosamba elongo na moto ya liboma, ezala asiliki to aseki, akotikala kozala na kimia te.
If a wise man goes to court with a foolish man, the fool rages or scoffs, and there is no peace.
10 Bato oyo basopaka makila balingaka bato ya sembo te, kasi bato malamu balukaka bato ya sembo.
The bloodthirsty hate a man of integrity; and they seek the life of the upright.
11 Zoba alandaka baposa nyonso ya motema na ye, kasi moto ya bwanya akangaka yango mpe akitisaka yango.
A fool vents all of his anger, but a wise man brings himself under control.
12 Soki mokonzi akomi koyoka makambo ya lokuta, basali na ye nyonso bakokoma bato mabe.
If a ruler listens to lies, all of his officials are wicked.
13 Mobola mpe monyokoli bazali na likambo moko ya lisanga: Yawe angengisaka miso ya bango mibale.
The poor man and the oppressor have this in common: The LORD gives sight to the eyes of both.

Many seek the ruler’s favor, but a man’s justice comes from the LORD.
27 Bato ya sembo bayinaka moto ya masumu, mpe moto mabe ayinaka etamboli ya bato ya sembo.
A dishonest man detests the righteous, and the upright in their ways detest the wicked.
