< Masese 19 >
1 Mobola oyo atambolaka na bosembo azali malamu koleka mokosi oyo azangi mayele.
Better is a poor man who walks in his integrity than he who is perverse in his lips and is a fool.
2 Ezali malamu te kobungisa mayele, kati na bolingo oyo eleka ndelo. Lokolo ya moto oyo atambolaka noki-noki ezangaka te kobeta libaku.
Also, that the soul be without knowledge is not good. And he who hastens with his feet sins.
3 Bozoba ya moto ebebisaka bomoi na ye; mpe, na sima, akomaka kotombokela Yawe.
The foolishness of a man subverts his way, and his heart rages against Jehovah.
4 Mozwi azalaka na baninga ebele, kasi mobola akabwanaka ata na molingami na ye ya motema.
Wealth adds many friends, but a poor man is separated from his friend.
5 Motatoli ya lokuta akozwa etumbu; moto oyo akosaka akozanga te kozwa etumbu.
A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he who utters lies shall not escape.
6 Bato mingi balukaka kosepelisa moto ya lokumu, mpe moto nyonso alukaka kozala molingami ya moto oyo asungaka bato.
Many will entreat the favor of a generous man, and every man is a friend to him who gives gifts.
7 Soki bandeko nyonso ya mobola bayinaka ye, mpo na nini baninga na ye bakima ye te? Ata tango azali nanu koloba, batikalaka lisusu wana te.
All the brothers of a poor man regard him inferior, how much more do his friends go far from him! He pursues with words, but they are gone.
8 Moto oyo alukaka kozwa bwanya alingaka bomoi na ye; moto oyo alingaka mayele alongaka.
He who gets wisdom loves his own soul. He who keeps understanding shall find good.
9 Motatoli ya lokuta azwaka etumbu; moto oyo akosaka akobebisama.
A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he who utters lies shall perish.
10 Bomoi ya lokumu ebongi na zoba te; ebongi mpe te na mowumbu kopesa mitindo na bakambi.
Luxurious living is not fitting for a fool, much less for a servant to have rule over rulers.
11 Bwanya ya moto ekomisaka ye motema molayi; mpe azwaka lokumu tango atalaka pamba mabe oyo basalaka ye.
The discretion of a man makes him slow to anger, and it is his glory to pass over a transgression.
12 Kanda ya mokonzi ezali lokola koganga ya nkosi, kasi bolamu na ye ezali lokola mamwe.
The king's wrath is as the roaring of a lion, but his favor is as dew upon the grass.
13 Mwana ya zoba azali pasi mpo na tata na ye; koswana ya mwasi ezali lokola linzanza ya ndako, oyo etangisaka mayi tango nyonso.
A foolish son is the calamity of his father, and the contentions of a wife are a continual dropping.
14 Moto akoki kozwa bandako mpe bomengo lokola libula kowuta epai ya batata, kasi mwasi ya bwanya azali likabo kowuta na Yawe.
House and riches are an inheritance from fathers, but a prudent wife is from Jehovah.
15 Bogoyigoyi ememaka moto na pongi makasi, mpe moto ya goyigoyi akufaka nzala.
Slothfulness casts into a deep sleep, and the idle soul shall suffer hunger.
16 Moto oyo atosaka mibeko abatelaka molimo na ye; moto oyo akebaka te na etamboli na ye akokufa.
He who keeps the commandment keeps his soul. He who is careless of his ways shall die.
17 Moto oyo asalaka bolamu epai ya mobola adefisaka Yawe, bongo Yawe akozongisela ye bolamu.
He who has pity upon a poor man lends to Jehovah, and he will repay him his good deed.
18 Pesaka mwana na yo etumbu wana elikya ezali nanu, kasi kotomboka na yo ekoma te kino na posa ya koboma ye.
Chasten thy son while there is hope, and let not thy soul spare for his crying.
19 Tika ete moto oyo asilikaka makasi amema mokumba ya kanda na ye; pamba te soki obikisi ye, okotinda ye ete azongela lisusu.
A man of great wrath shall bear the penalty, for if thou deliver him, thou must do it yet again.
20 Yoka toli mpe ndima mateya, mpo ete okoma moto ya bwanya.
Hear counsel, and receive instruction, that thou may be wise in thy latter end.
21 Motema ya moto ezalaka na makanisi ebele, kasi ezali mokano ya Yawe nde ekokisamaka.
There are many devices in a man's heart, but the counsel of Jehovah, that shall stand.
22 Eloko oyo moto alingaka epai ya moninga na ye moto ezali bolingo ya solo, mpe mobola azali malamu koleka mokosi.
That which makes a man to be desired is his kindness, and a poor man is better than a liar.
23 Kotosa Yawe ememaka na bomoi, esalaka ete moto azala na kimia; boye ata mabe moko te ekokomela ye.
The fear of Jehovah is life to a man, and he shall abide satisfied. He shall not be visited with evil.
24 Moto ya goyigoyi akotisaka loboko na ye kati na bilei, kasi akokaka te kozongisa yango na monoko na ye.
The sluggard buries his hand in the dish, and will not so much as bring it to his mouth again.
25 Beta motioli fimbu, mpe zoba akozwa mayele; sembola moto ya mayele, mpe akozwa boyebi.
Smite a scoffer, and a simple man will learn prudence. And reprove him who has understanding, and he will understand knowledge.
26 Mwana oyo abetaka tata na ye mpe abenganaka mama na ye ayeisaka soni mpe mawa.
He who does violence to his father, and chases away his mother, is a son that causes shame and brings reproach.
27 Mwana na ngai, soki otiki koyoka mateya, okobunga nzela ya maloba ya boyebi.
To err from the words of knowledge, cease, my son, to hear instruction.
28 Moto oyo atiolaka bosembo azali motatoli ya zoba; mpe monoko ya bato mabe emelaka kaka mabe.
A worthless witness mocks at justice, and the mouth of the wicked swallows iniquity.
29 Etumbu esalema mpo na batioli, mpe fimbu esalema mpo na bazoba.
Judgments are prepared for scoffers, and stripes for the back of fools.
