< Matayo 17 >

1 Sima na mikolo motoba, Yesu azwaki Petelo, Jake mpe Yoane, ndeko mobali ya Jake; amemaki bango na pembeni, na likolo ya ngomba moko ya molayi.
Six days later Jesus took Peter, James and his brother John, with him and they went up a high mountain to be by themselves.
2 Yesu abongolamaki na miso na bango: elongi na Ye ekomaki kongenga lokola moyi, bilamba na Ye ekomaki pembe makasi lokola pole.
He was transformed in front of them. His face shone like the sun. His clothes turned white as light.
3 Mbala moko, bamonaki Moyize mpe Eliya bazali kosolola na Yesu.
Then suddenly Moses and Elijah appeared before them, talking together with Jesus.
4 Petelo alobaki na Yesu: — Nkolo, eleki malamu mpo na biso kotikala awa! Soki ondimi, nakotonga bandako misato ya kapo: moko mpo na Yo, moko mpo na Moyize, mpe moko mpo na Eliya!
Peter spoke up, saying to Jesus, “Lord, it's really good to be here. If you want I'll make three shelters—one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.”
5 Wana azalaki nanu koloba, lipata moko ezalaki kongenga lokola moyi, ezipaki bango, mpe mongongo moko eyokanaki wuta kati na lipata yango: « Oyo azali Mwana na Ngai ya bolingo, nasepelaka na Ye mingi; boyoka Ye! »
While he was still speaking, a bright cloud covered them. A voice came from the cloud, saying, “This is my son whom I love, who pleases me. Listen to him.”
6 Tango bayekoli bayokaki mongongo yango, bakweyaki bilongi kino na mabele mpo ete somo makasi ekangaki bango.
When they heard this, the disciples fell down on their faces, absolutely terrified.
7 Kasi Yesu apusanaki pene na bango, asimbaki bango mpe alobaki: — Botelema, bobanga te!
Jesus went over to them and touched them. “Get up,” he told them. “Don't be afraid.”
8 Batombolaki miso mpe bamonaki moto mosusu te, kaka Yesu.
When they looked up they didn't see anybody there except Jesus.
9 Wana bazalaki kokita na ngomba, Yesu apesaki bango mitindo oyo: — Makambo oyo bowuti komona, boyebisa yango na moto moko te kino tango Mwana na Moto akosekwa kati na bakufi.
As they descended the mountain Jesus gave them strict instructions. “Don't tell anybody what you saw until the Son of man has risen from the dead,” he told them.
10 Bayekoli batunaki Yesu: — Mpo na nini balakisi ya Mobeko balobaka ete Eliya asengeli koya moto ya liboso?
“So why do the religious teachers say that Elijah has to come first?” his disciples asked.
11 Yesu azongisaki: — Solo, Eliya asengeli koya mpe akozongisa makambo nyonso na molongo.
“It's true that Elijah comes to put everything in place,” Jesus replied,
12 Kasi Ngai, nazali koloba na bino ete Eliya asilaki koya; kasi na esika ya koyeba ye, basalaki ye ndenge balingaki. Ezali mpe ndenge wana nde bakonyokola Mwana na Moto.
“but I tell you that Elijah has already come and yet people didn't recognize who he was. They did whatever they felt like to him. In the same way the Son of man will also suffer at their hands.”
13 Bayekoli basosolaki ete azalaki kolobela bango na tina na Yoane Mobatisi.
Then the disciples realized that Jesus was referring to John the Baptist.
14 Tango bakomaki pene ya esika oyo ebele ya bato bazalaki, moto moko apusanaki pene na Yesu, afukamaki liboso na Ye mpe alobaki:
When they approached the crowd, a man came to Jesus, and kneeled before him.
15 — Nkolo, yokela mwana na ngai ya mobali mawa! Azali na maladi ya ndeke mpe azali penza komona pasi: akweyaka mbala mingi na moto to na mayi.
“Lord, please have mercy on my son,” he said. “He loses his mind and suffers such terrible fits that he often falls in the fire or into water.
16 Namemaki ye epai ya bayekoli na Yo, kasi bakoki te kobikisa ye.
I brought him to your disciples but they couldn't heal him.”
17 Yesu alobaki: — Ekeke ya bato mabe mpe bazanga kondima! Kino tango nini nakozala na bino elongo? Kino tango nini nakokanga motema mpo na bino? Bomemela Ngai mwana yango.
“You people refuse to trust me, and are so corrupt!” Jesus responded. “How long do I have to remain here with you? How long do I have to put up with you? Bring him here to me!”
18 Yesu abenganaki molimo mabe, mpe molimo mabe yango ebimaki kati na mwana. Kaka na tango yango, mwana abikaki.
Jesus confronted the demon and it left the boy, and he was healed straight away.
19 Bongo bayekoli bakendeki na nkuku epai ya Yesu mpe batunaki: — Mpo na nini, biso, tolongaki te kobengana molimo yango?
Later the disciples came to Jesus in private and asked him, “Why couldn't we drive it out?”
20 Yesu azongiselaki bango: — Ezali mpo ete bozali na kondima moke. Nazali koloba na bino penza ya solo: soki kondima na bino ezalaki lokola mbuma ya mutarde, bokokaki koloba na ngomba oyo: « Longwa awa, kende kuna; » mpe ekokende penza. Eloko moko te ekoki kozanga kosalemela bino. [
“Because you don't trust enough,” Jesus told them. “I tell you, even if your trust was as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it would move. Nothing would be impossible for you.”
21 Kasi lolenge oyo ya milimo mabe ebimaka kaka na nzela ya mabondeli mpe ya kokila bilei.]
22 Mokolo moko, bayekoli basanganaki bango nyonso kati na Galile; Yesu alobaki na bango: — Bakokaba Mwana na Moto na maboko ya bato,
As they were walking together through Galilee, Jesus told them, “The Son of man is going to be betrayed and people will have power over him.
23 bakoboma Ye, mpe, na mokolo ya misato, akosekwa. Bayekoli bayokaki mawa mingi.
They will kill him, but on the third day he will rise again.” The disciples were filled with sadness.
24 Tango Yesu mpe bayekoli na Ye bakomaki na Kapernawumi, bafutisi mpako ya Ndako ya Nzambe bayaki epai ya Petelo mpe batunaki: — Boni, moteyi na bino afutaka mpako ya Ndako ya Nzambe te?
When they arrived at Capernaum, those who were in charge of collecting the half-shekel Temple tax came to Peter and asked him, “Your teacher does pay the half-shekel tax, doesn't he?”
25 Petelo azongisaki: — Afutaka! Tango Petelo akotaki na ndako, Yesu azwaki maloba moto ya liboso mpe atunaki ye: — Simona, okanisi nini? Banani bafutaka mpako epai ya bakonzi ya mokili: bana na bango to bapaya?
“Yes, of course,” Peter replied. When he returned to where they were staying, Jesus anticipated the issue. “What do you think, Simon?” Jesus asked him. “Do the kings of this world collect their taxes and duties from their own sons or from others?”
26 Petelo azongisaki: — Bapaya. Yesu alobaki na ye: — Lokola ezali bongo, bana mboka basengeli kofuta te.
“From others,” Peter replied. So Jesus told him, “In that case the sons are exempt.
27 Nzokande, mpo ete totia mobulu te kati na makanisi na bango, kende na ebale, bwaka ndobo na mayi mpe kamata mbisi oyo okozwa ya liboso; fungola monoko na yango mpe okomona mbongo moko ya bibende kati na yango; kamata mbongo yango mpe futa mpako na Ngai mpe mpako na yo, na maboko na bango.
But to avoid giving offense to anyone, go to the lake, and throw out a fishing line with a hook. Pull in the first fish you catch, and when you open its mouth there you'll find a stater coin. Take the coin and give it to them for both me and you.”
