1 Na mikolo yango, ebele penza ya bato bayaki lisusu kosangana zingazinga ya Yesu. Lokola bazalaki na eloko ya kolia te, Yesu abengaki bayekoli na Ye mpe alobaki na bango:
Around this time there was another large crowd that had nothing to eat. Jesus called the disciples together and told them,
2 — Nazali koyokela bato oyo mawa, pamba te basali mikolo misato elongo na Ngai mpe bazali na eloko ya kolia te.
“I feel for the crowd because they have already stayed with me for three days and they have nothing to eat.
3 Soki nazongisi bango na bandako na bango na nzala, bakolemba nzoto na nzela; pamba te, bato mosusu kati na bango bawutaki mosika.
If I send them home without food, they'll faint on the way. Some have come from a long way away.”
4 Bayekoli na Ye bazongisaki: — Kati na esobe oyo, esika nini tokoki kozwa mapa mpo na koleisa bango mpe batonda?
“Where could anybody find enough bread to feed them here in this wilderness?” answered his disciples.
5 Yesu atunaki bango: — Bozali na mapa boni? Bazongisaki: — Tozali na mapa sambo.
“How many loaves do you have?” he asked. “Seven,” they replied.
6 Boye, alobaki na ebele ya bato yango ete bavanda na mabele. Bongo azwaki mapa yango sambo, azongisaki matondi epai ya Nzambe, akataki yango mpe apesaki biteni na yango epai ya bayekoli na Ye mpo ete bakabola yango epai ya bato. Mpe bayekoli basalaki bongo.
He told the crowd to sit down on the ground. Then he took the seven loaves of bread, and gave thanks. He broke the bread and handed the pieces to his disciples to give to the crowd.
7 Bazalaki mpe na mwa ndambo ya bambisi ya mike-mike. Apambolaki yango mpe alobaki na bayekoli na Ye ete bakabola yango.
They had a few fish as well, so having blessed them, he said, “Take these and share them too.”
8 Bato nyonso baliaki mpe batondaki. Bongo bayekoli balokotaki biteni oyo etikalaki, batondisaki na yango bitunga sambo.
They ate until they were full, and then collected up seven baskets of leftovers.
9 Bato bazalaki pene nkoto minei. Bongo, Yesu azongisaki bango.
There were four thousand people there. After sending them on their way,
10 Mbala moko, Yesu amataki na bwato elongo na bayekoli na Ye mpe akendeki na etuka ya Dalimanuta.
Jesus climbed into a boat with his disciples and went to the region of Dalmanutha.
11 Bafarizeo bayaki mpe bakomaki kotuna Yesu mituna; mpo na komeka Ye, basengaki na Ye ete asala elembo moko kowuta na Likolo.
The Pharisees arrived and began to argue with him, wanting him to give them a miraculous sign from heaven, trying to get him to prove himself.
12 Yesu ayokaki mawa makasi kati na molimo na Ye mpe alobaki: « Mpo na nini bato ya ekeke oyo bazali kosenga elembo? Nazali koloba na bino penza ya solo: bakopesamela elembo moko te! »
Jesus sighed deeply, and asked, “Why do you people want a sign? I tell you the truth: I will not give you a sign.”
13 Bongo atikaki bango, amataki lisusu na bwato mpe akendeki na ngambo mosusu ya ebale.
So he left them behind, climbed into the boat, and went back across the lake.
14 Bayekoli babosanaki komema mapa; bazalaki kaka na lipa moko kati na bwato.
But the disciples had forgotten to bring bread with them. All they had in the boat was one loaf.
15 Yesu akebisaki bango: — Bofungola miso mpe bosala keba na levire ya Bafarizeo mpe ya Erode!
“Watch out—beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and of Herod!” he warned them.
16 Bayekoli bakomaki kolobana bango na bango: — Azali koloba bongo mpo ete tozali na mapa te.
“He's saying that because we don't have any bread,” they concluded.
17 Yesu asosolaki makanisi na bango; alobaki: — Bozali kolobana bino na bino mpo ete bozali na mapa te! Mpo na nini? Boni, bozwi kaka bososoli nanu te; mayele na bino ezali kaka ya kozipama; bozali na mitema makasi;
Jesus knew what they were saying, and said, “Why are you talking about not having any bread? Are you still not thinking and not understanding? Have you closed your minds?
18 bozali na miso, kasi bozali komona te; bozali na matoyi, kasi bozali koyoka te? Bobosani penza!
You've got eyes to see, haven't you? And ears to hear?
19 Tango nakataki mapa mitano mpo na kokabolela bato nkoto mitano, bozongaki na motango boni ya bitunga etonda na biteni ya mapa, sima na kokabolela bato? Bazongisaki: — Bitunga zomi na mibale.
Don't you remember when I shared five loaves among five thousand? How many basketfuls of leftovers did you pick up?” “Twelve,” they replied.
20 Bongo tango nakataki mapa sambo mpo na kokabolela bato nkoto minei, bozongaki na bitunga boni etonda na biteni ya mapa? Bazongisaki: — Tolokotaki bitumba sambo.
“And the seven loaves divided among four thousand. How many basketfuls of leftovers did you pick up?” “Seven,” they answered.
21 Alobaki na bango: — Bozwi kaka bososoli nanu te?
“Do you still not understand?” he asked them.
22 Tango bakomaki na Betisaida, bato bamemaki epai na Yesu moto moko akufa miso; mpe basengaki na Yesu ete asimba ye.
They went to Bethsaida where some people brought a blind man to Jesus. They begged Jesus to touch him and heal him.
23 Yesu asimbaki loboko ya mokufi miso mpe amemaki ye na libanda ya mboka; bongo apakolaki ye soyi na miso, atielaki ye maboko mpe atunaki ye: — Boni, omoni eloko?
Jesus took the blind man by the hand and took him outside the village. Jesus spat on the man's eyes and touched him with his hands. Then Jesus asked him, “Can you see anything?”
24 Moto yango atalaki mpe alobaki: — Nazali komona bato, kasi bazali lokola banzete oyo ezali kotambola.
The man looked around, and said, “I can see people, but they look like trees walking.”
25 Bongo Yesu atiaki lisusu maboko na Ye na miso ya moto yango, mpe moto yango abikaki. Boye akomaki komona malamu penza.
So Jesus touched the man's eyes again. He could see properly—he was cured and his sight was clear.
26 Yesu alobaki na ye: — Kende na ndako na yo, komeka kutu te kozonga na mboka.
Jesus sent the man home, and told him, “Don't go back through the village.”
27 Yesu mpe bayekoli na Ye bakendeki na bamboka ya Sezarea ya Filipo. Na nzela, atunaki bango: — Bato bazali koloba ete Ngai nazali nani?
Jesus and his disciples left to go to the villages of Caesarea Philippi. On the way he asked his disciples, “Who do people say I am?”
28 Bazongisaki: — Bamoko balobaka ete ozali Yoane Mobatisi; bamosusu, Eliya; mpe bamosusu lisusu, moko kati na basakoli.
“Some say John the Baptist, some say Elijah, others say one of the prophets,” they replied.
29 Yesu atunaki bango: — Bongo bino, bolobaka ete Ngai nazali nani? Petelo azongiselaki Ye: — Ozali Masiya.
“But who do you say I am?” he asked them. “You are the Messiah!” Peter answered.
30 Yesu apekisaki bango makasi koloba bongo na moto ata moko.
Jesus warned them not to tell anybody about him.
31 Yesu akomaki koteya bango: — Mwana na Moto asengeli komona pasi mingi; bakambi, bakonzi ya Banganga-Nzambe mpe balakisi ya Mobeko basengeli koboya Ye, basengeli koboma Ye, mpe, sima na mikolo misato, asengeli kosekwa.
Then Jesus began to explain to them that the Son of man would suffer many things and be rejected by the elders, chief priests, and religious teachers. He would be killed, but three days later would rise again.
32 Azalaki koloba makambo yango na polele penza. Bongo Petelo abendaki Yesu na pembeni mpe akomaki kopamela Ye: — Koloba bongo te!
Jesus explained this to them very clearly. But Peter took Jesus aside and started to reprimand him for what he said.
33 Kasi Yesu abalukaki, atalaki bayekoli na Ye mpe apamelaki Petelo: — Mosika na Ngai, Satana! Makanisi na yo ezali makanisi ya Nzambe te, ezali penza makanisi ya bato.
Jesus turned around and looking at his disciples, reprimanded Peter. “Get away from me, Satan,” he said. “You're not thinking as God thinks, but as human beings do.”
34 Yesu abengaki ebele ya bato mpe bayekoli na Ye, alobaki na bango: — Moto nyonso oyo alingi kolanda Ngai asengeli komiboya ye moko, kokamata ekulusu na ye mpe kolanda Ngai.
Jesus called the crowd and his disciples over to him, and told them, “If you want to follow me, you must give up on yourselves, pick up your cross and follow me.
35 Pamba te moto nyonso oyo akolinga kobikisa bomoi na ye akobungisa yango, kasi moto nyonso oyo akobungisa bomoi na ye mpo na Ngai mpe mpo na Sango Malamu akobikisa yango.
If you want to save your life you will lose it, but if you lose your life because of me and the good news you will save it.
36 Litomba nini ezali mpo na moto, soki azwi mokili mobimba, kasi abungisi bomoi na ye?
What use is it for you to gain everything in the whole world, and lose your life?
37 Moto akoki penza kopesa nini mpo na kosikola bomoi na ye?
What would you give in exchange for your life?
38 Moto nyonso oyo akoyoka Ngai mpe maloba na Ngai soni, kati na bato ya ekeke oyo, ba-oyo batosaka Nzambe te mpe batondi na masumu, Mwana na Moto mpe akoyoka ye soni, tango akoya elongo na ba-anjelu ya bule kati na nkembo ya Tata na Ye.
If you're ashamed to acknowledge me and what I say among this unfaithful and sinful people, then the Son of man will be ashamed to acknowledge you when he comes with his Father's glory with the holy angels.”
