< Bilombe 3 >
1 Tala bikolo oyo Yawe atikaki mpo na komeka bana ya Isalaele oyo bazalaki na tango ya bitumba ya Kanana.
Now these are the nations which the LORD left, to test Israel by them, even as many as had not known all the wars of Canaan;
2 Asalaki bango bongo, kaka mpo ete milongo ya sika ya bana ya Isalaele oyo bazalaki te na tango ya bitumba, bayeba nini yango bitumba.
only that the generations of the children of Israel might know, to teach them war, at least those who knew nothing of it before:
3 Yawe atikaki kati na mokili yango bakonzi mitano ya bato ya Filisitia, bato nyonso ya Kanana, bato nyonso ya Sidoni mpe bato nyonso ya Evi, oyo bazalaki kovanda na bangomba ya Libani, wuta na ngomba ya Bala-Erimoni kino na Lebo-Amati.
the five lords of the Philistines, all the Canaanites, the Sidonians, and the Hivites who lived on Mount Lebanon, from Mount Baal Hermon to the entrance of Hamath.
4 Bikolo wana etikalaki mpo na komeka bana ya Isalaele mpe kotala soki bakotosa mitindo oyo Yawe apesaki bakoko na bango na nzela ya Moyize.
They were left to test Israel by them, to know whether they would listen to the LORD’s commandments, which he commanded their fathers by Moses.
5 Bana ya Isalaele bavandaki kati na bato ya Kanana, ya Iti, ya Amori, ya Perizi, ya Evi mpe ya Yebusi;
The children of Israel lived among the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites.
6 babalaki bana basi na bango mpe babalisaki bana na bango ya basi epai ya bana na bango ya mibali, mpe basalelaki banzambe na bango.
They took their daughters to be their wives, and gave their own daughters to their sons and served their gods.
7 Bana ya Isalaele basalaki makambo mabe na miso ya Yawe; babosanaki Yawe, Nzambe na bango, mpe basalelaki banzambe Bala mpe Ashera.
The children of Israel did that which was evil in the LORD’s sight, and forgot the LORD their God, and served the Baals and the Asheroth.
8 Yawe asilikelaki bana ya Isalaele, mpe akabaki bango na maboko ya Kushani-Rishetayimi, mokonzi ya Arami. Bana ya Isalaele basalaki mibu mwambe na se ya bokonzi na ye.
Therefore the LORD’s anger burned against Israel, and he sold them into the hand of Cushan Rishathaim king of Mesopotamia; and the children of Israel served Cushan Rishathaim eight years.
9 Bana ya Isalaele bagangaki epai ya Yawe, mpe Yawe abimiselaki bango mokangoli: Otinieli, mwana mobali ya Kenazi, leki ya Kalebi. Mpe Otinieli abikisaki bana ya Isalaele.
When the children of Israel cried to the LORD, the LORD raised up a savior to the children of Israel, who saved them, even Othniel the son of Kenaz, Caleb’s younger brother.
10 Molimo na Yawe ayaki likolo na ye mpe akomaki elombe kati na bana ya Isalaele; bongo akendeki kobunda bitumba. Yawe akabaki Kushani-Rishetayimi, mokonzi ya Arami, na maboko ya Otinieli; mpe Otinieli alongaki ye.
The LORD’s Spirit came on him, and he judged Israel; and he went out to war, and the LORD delivered Cushan Rishathaim king of Mesopotamia into his hand. His hand prevailed against Cushan Rishathaim.
11 Sima na yango, mokili ekomaki na kimia mibu tuku minei kino tango Otinieli, mwana mobali ya Kenazi, akufaki.
The land had rest forty years, then Othniel the son of Kenaz died.
12 Bana ya Isalaele basalaki lisusu mabe na miso ya Yawe. Likolo ya mabe yango, Yawe apesaki Egiloni, mokonzi ya Moabi, bokonzi na likolo ya bana ya Isalaele.
The children of Israel again did that which was evil in the LORD’s sight, and the LORD strengthened Eglon the king of Moab against Israel, because they had done that which was evil in the LORD’s sight.
13 Egiloni asanganaki na bato ya Amoni mpe ya Amaleki, bayaki mpe babundisaki bana ya Isalaele, bongo babotolaki engumba ya nzete ya Mbila.
He gathered the children of Ammon and Amalek to himself; and he went and struck Israel, and they possessed the city of palm trees.
14 Bana ya Isalaele bazalaki na se ya bokonzi ya Egiloni, mokonzi ya Moabi, mibu zomi na mwambe.
The children of Israel served Eglon the king of Moab eighteen years.
15 Bana ya Isalaele bagangaki lisusu epai na Yawe, mpe Yawe apesaki bango mokangoli moko na kombo Ewudi, mwana mobali ya Gera, ya libota ya Benjame. Ewudi azalaki kosalela loboko ya mwasi. Bana ya Isalaele batindaki ye epai ya Egiloni, mokonzi ya Moabi, mpo na kopesa ye mpako.
But when the children of Israel cried to the LORD, the LORD raised up a savior for them: Ehud the son of Gera, the Benjamite, a left-handed man. The children of Israel sent tribute by him to Eglon the king of Moab.
16 Ewudi amisalelaki mopanga ya minu mibale, ya ndambo ya metele na molayi. Akangaki yango na loketo na ye, na ngambo ya loboko ya mobali, mpe abombaki yango na se ya bilamba na ye.
Ehud made himself a sword which had two edges, a cubit in length; and he wore it under his clothing on his right thigh.
17 Apesaki mpako epai ya Egiloni, mokonzi ya Moabi, oyo azalaki moto ya nzoto minene.
He offered the tribute to Eglon king of Moab. Now Eglon was a very fat man.
18 Tango Ewudi asilisaki kopesa mpako, azongisaki bato nyonso oyo bamemaki yango.
When Ehud had finished offering the tribute, he sent away the people who carried the tribute.
19 Kasi tango akomaki na esika ya banzambe ya bikeko oyo basala na mabanga, pembeni ya Giligali, azongaki epai ya mokonzi mpe alobaki na ye: — Mokonzi, nazali na sango ya sekele mpo na yo. Mokonzi azongisaki: — Kimia! Mpe bato nyonso oyo bazalaki pembeni na ye babimaki libanda.
But he himself turned back from the stone idols that were by Gilgal, and said, “I have a secret message for you, O king.” The king said, “Keep silence!” All who stood by him left him.
20 Bongo Ewudi apusanaki pene ya mokonzi Egiloni oyo azalaki ya kovanda na shambre ya likolo ya ndako na ye ya kopema. Alobaki na ye: — Nazali na liloba ya koyebisa yo kowuta na Nzambe.
Ehud came to him; and he was sitting by himself alone in the cool upper room. Ehud said, “I have a message from God to you.” He arose out of his seat.
21 Ewudi asembolaki loboko na ye ya mwasi, akamataki mopanga oyo abombaki na loketo na ye, na ngambo ya loboko ya mobali, mpe atubaki yango na libumu ya mokonzi.
Ehud put out his left hand, and took the sword from his right thigh, and thrust it into his body.
22 Boye, ezala esimbelo ya mopanga, nyonso ekotaki, mpe mafuta ezipaki mopanga; pamba te Ewudi atikaki mopanga yango kati na libumu ya mokonzi.
The handle also went in after the blade; and the fat closed on the blade, for he did not draw the sword out of his body; and it came out behind.
23 Ewudi abimaki na sima ya ndako, akangaki bikuke ya shambre ya likolo sima na ye mpe atiaki yango bibende.
Then Ehud went out onto the porch, and shut the doors of the upper room on him, and locked them.
24 Tango akendeki, basali ya mokonzi bayaki na esika yango mpe bamonaki ete bikuke ya shambre ya likolo ya kokangama. Balobaki: — Tango mosusu mokonzi azali na zongo inene oyo ezali kati na shambre, na kati ya ndako.
After he had gone, his servants came and saw that the doors of the upper room were locked. They said, “Surely he is covering his feet in the upper room.”
25 Basali bazelaki mingi, kino ekomaki kosala bango soni. Lokola mokonzi azalaki kaka kofungola te bikuke ya shambre ya likolo, bazwaki fungola mpe bafungolaki bango moko. Mpe tala, bamonaki nkolo na bango azali ya kokufa, alala na se.
They waited until they were ashamed; and behold, he did not open the doors of the upper room. Therefore they took the key and opened them, and behold, their lord had fallen down dead on the floor.
26 Wana balekisaki bongo ngonga, Ewudi abimaki; alekaki na esika oyo ezalaki na banzambe oyo basala na mabanga mpe akimaki na Seira.
Ehud escaped while they waited, passed beyond the stone idols, and escaped to Seirah.
27 Tango akomaki kuna, abetaki kelelo na mokili ya bangomba ya Efrayimi, mpe bana ya Isalaele bakitaki elongo na ye, longwa na likolo na ngomba, mpe amitiaki na liboso mpo na kotambolisa bango.
When he had come, he blew a trumpet in the hill country of Ephraim; and the children of Israel went down with him from the hill country, and he led them.
28 Alobaki na bango: — Bolanda ngai, pamba te Yawe akabi Moabi, monguna na bino, na maboko na bino. Balandaki ye mpe babotolaki bato ya Moabi bisika oyo bakatisaka Yordani na makolo. Bapesaki lisusu ata na moto moko te nzela ya kokatisa mayi.
He said to them, “Follow me; for the LORD has delivered your enemies the Moabites into your hand.” They followed him, and took the fords of the Jordan against the Moabites, and did not allow any man to pass over.
29 Na mokolo wana, babomaki bato ya Moabi pene nkoto zomi; bango nyonso bazalaki bambinga mpe bato ya makasi, ata moto moko te abikaki.
They struck at that time about ten thousand men of Moab, every strong man and every man of valor. No man escaped.
30 Na mokolo wana, bana ya Isalaele balembisaki bato ya Moabi, mpe mokili ezalaki na kimia mibu tuku mwambe.
So Moab was subdued that day under the hand of Israel. Then the land had rest eighty years.
31 Sima na Ewudi, Shamagari, mwana mobali ya Anati, ayaki mpe abomaki bato ya Filisitia nkama motoba na nzela ya nzete ya moke oyo batambolisaka na yango bangombe. Ye mpe abikisaki Isalaele.
After him was Shamgar the son of Anath, who struck six hundred men of the Philistines with an ox goad. He also saved Israel.
