1 Bato ya Efrayimi basanganaki, bakatisaki na ngambo ya Tsafoni mpe balobaki na Jefite: — Mpo na nini okatisaki mondelo ya bato ya Amoni mpo na kobundisa bango, bongo obengaki biso te mpo ete tokende na yo elongo? Tokotumba yo elongo na ndako na yo!
And the men of Ephraim assembled [themselves], and passed on to the north, and said to Jephthae, Therefore did you go over to fight with the children of Ammon, and did not call us to go with you? we will burn your house over you with fire.
2 Jefite azongiselaki bango: — Ngai mpe bato na ngai, tozalaki na kobendana makasi na bato ya Amoni; mpe tango nabengaki bino, bokangolaki ngai te wuta na maboko na bango.
And Jephthae said to them, I and my people and the children of Ammon were very much engaged in war; and I called for you, and you did not save me out of their hand.
3 Tango namonaki ete bokangoli na bino ngai te, nakabaki bomoi na ngai, mpe nakatisaki ngai moko nzela ya bato ya Amoni mpo na kobundisa bango; mpe Yawe apesaki ngai elonga likolo na bango. Sik’oyo, mpo na nini boyei lelo kobundisa ngai?
And I saw that you were no helper, and I put my life in my hand, and passed on to the sons of Ammon; and the Lord delivered them into my hand: and therefore are you come up against me this day to fight with me?
4 Jefite asangisaki mibali nyonso ya Galadi, mpe babundisaki bato ya Efrayimi. Bato ya Galadi balongaki bato ya Efrayimi; mpe bato ya Efrayimi balobaki: « Bino bato ya Galadi, bozali na bino kaka bato oyo bokimaki wuta na Efrayimi mpe na Manase. »
And Jephthae gathered all the men of Galaad, and fought with Ephraim; and the men of Galaad struck Ephraim, because they that were escaped of Ephraim said, You [are] of Galaad in the midst of Ephraim and in the midst of Manasse.
5 Bato ya Galadi bakangaki esika oyo bakatisaka Yordani na makolo, pene ya etuka ya Efrayimi. Mpe tango nyonso mokimi moko ya Efrayimi azalaki koloba: « Tika ngai nakatisa, » bato ya Galadi bazalaki kotuna ye: « Ozali moto ya Efrayimi? » Soki azongisi: « Te, »
And Galaad took the fords of Jordan before Ephraim; and they that escaped of Ephraim said to them, Let us go over: and the men of Galaad said, Are you an Ephrathite? and he said, No.
6 bazalaki kosenga ete aloba: « Shiboleti; » soki alobi: « Siboleti, » mpo ete akoki te koloba yango malamu, bazalaki kokanga ye mpe koboma ye na esika oyo bakatisaka Yordani na makolo. Na tango wana, babomaki bato ya Efrayimi nkoto tuku minei na mibale.
Then they said to him, Say now Stachys; and he did not rightly pronounce it so: and they took him, and killed him at the fords of Jordan; and there fell at that time of Ephraim two and forty thousand.
7 Jefite, moto ya Galadi, akambaki Isalaele mibu motoba. Sima na yango, akufaki, mpe bakundaki ye kati na engumba moko ya Galadi.
And Jephthae judged Israel six years; and Jephthae the Galaadite died, and was buried in his city Galaad.
8 Sima na Jefite, Ibitsani, moto ya Beteleemi, akambaki Isalaele.
And after him Abaissan of Bethleem judged Israel.
9 Azalaki na bana mibali tuku misato mpe bana basi tuku misato. Abalisaki bana na ye ya basi na libanda ya libota ya botata na ye, mpe ayeisaki bilenge basi tuku misato ya bikolo mosusu mpo na bana na ye ya mibali. Ibitsani akambaki Isalaele mibu sambo.
And he had thirty sons, and thirty daughters, whom he sent forth; and he brought in thirty daughters for his sons from without; and he judged Israel seven years.
10 Ibitsani akufaki, mpe bakundaki ye kati na Beteleemi.
And Abaissan died, and was buried in Bethleem.
11 Sima na Ibitsani, Eloni, moto ya libota ya Zabuloni, akambaki Isalaele mibu zomi.
And after him Aelom of Zabulon judged Israel ten years.
12 Eloni akufaki, mpe bakundaki ye kati na mboka Ayaloni, kati na etuka ya Zabuloni.
And Aelom of Zabulon died, and was buried in Aelom in the land of Zabulon.
13 Sima na Eloni, Abidoni, mwana mobali ya Ileli, moto ya mokili ya Piratoni, akambaki Isalaele.
And after him Abdon the son of Ellel, the Pharathonite, judged Israel.
14 Azalaki na bana mibali tuku minei mpe bakoko ya mibali tuku misato oyo babandaki kotambola likolo ya ba-ane tuku sambo. Akambaki Isalaele mibu mwambe.
And he had forty sons, and thirty grandsons, that rode upon seventy colts: and he judged Israel eight years.
15 Abidoni, mwana mobali ya Ileli, akufaki, mpe bakundaki ye na Piratoni, kati na etuka ya Efrayimi, na mokili ya bangomba ya bato ya Amaleki.
And Abdon the son of Ellel, the Pharathonite, died, and was buried in Pharathon in the land of Ephraim in the mount of Amalec.
