< Yobo 4 >
1 Elifazi, moto ya Temani, azwaki maloba mpe alobaki:
Then Eliphaz the Thaemanite answered and said,
2 « Soki moto moko ameki koloba na yo ata liloba moko, boni, okotomboka mpo na yango te? Kasi nani akoki penza kokanga motema mpe kozanga maloba?
Hast you been often spoken to in distress? but who shall endure the force of your words?
3 Kanisa nanu ndenge ozalaki koteya bato ebele, ndenge ozalaki kolendisa bato oyo balembaki!
For whereas you have instructed many, and have strengthened the hands of the weak one,
4 Maloba na yo ezalaki kolendisa bato oyo bazalaki kotepatepa, mpe oyo mabolongo na bango ezalaki kolemba.
and have supported the failing with words, and have imparted courage to feeble knees.
5 Kasi awa sik’oyo pasi ekomeli yo, olembi na yo! Awa pasi ebeti yo, okomi na yo koyoka somo!
Yet now [that] pain has come upon you, and touched you, you are troubled.
6 Boni, kondima na yo epai ya Nzambe esengeli te kozala likonzi na yo, mpe bosembo na yo esengeli te kosimba elikya na yo?
Is not your fear [founded] in folly, your hope also, and the mischief of your way?
7 Kanisa nanu: Nani akotikala kokufa te mpo ete asalaka mabe te? Esika nini bato ya sembo bakotikala kokufa te?
Remember then who has perished, being pure? or when were the true-hearted utterly destroyed?
8 Kolanda makambo oyo ngai nasili komona, bato oyo basalaka mabe, mpe ba-oyo balonaka minyoko, babukaka mpe kaka mabe lokola mbuma;
Accordingly as I have seen men plowing barren places, and they that sow them will reap sorrows for themselves.
9 bakufaka na mopepe ya Nzambe mpe basilaka na mopepe ya kanda na Ye.
They shall perish by the command of the Lord, and shall be utterly consumed by the breath of his wrath.
10 Nkosi ekoki na yango koganga, mpe mwana ya nkosi ekoki kotia makelele ndenge elingi, kasi Nzambe abukaka minu ya nkosi.
The strength of the lion, and the voice of the lioness, and the exulting cry of serpents are quenched.
11 Nkosi ekufaka mpo na kozanga nyama ya kolia, mpe bana ya nkosi ya mwasi epanzanaka.
The old lion has perished for lack of food, and the lions' whelps have forsaken one another.
12 Liloba moko eyelaki ngai na nkuku, mpe matoyi na ngai eyokaki yango na se penza:
But if there had been any truth in your words, none of these evils would have befallen you. Shall not mine ear receive excellent [revelations] from him?
13 kati na bandoto ya butu, na tango bato bazwaka pongi makasi,
But [as when] terror falls upon men, with dread and a sound in the night,
14 kobanga mpe somo ekangaki ngai mpe eningisaki mikuwa na ngai nyonso;
horror and trembling seized me, and caused all my bones greatly to shake.
15 molimo moko elekaki liboso ya elongi na ngai lokola mopepe, mpe suki ya moto na ngai etelemaki.
And a spirit came before my face; and my hair and flesh quivered.
16 Molimo yango etelemaki wana, kasi nalongaki te kososola soki ezali nini; elilingi yango etelemaki liboso ya miso na ngai, mpe nayokaki mongongo moko koloba na se penza:
I arose and perceived it not: I looked, and there, was no form before my eyes: but I only heard a breath and a voice, [saying],
17 ‹ Boni, moto akoki solo koleka Nzambe na bosembo to akoki solo koleka Mokeli na ye na bule?
What, shall a mortal be pure before the Lord? or a man be blameless in regard to his works?
18 Soki Nzambe atielaka basali na Ye motema te, soki kutu amonaka mabunga epai ya ba-anjelu na Ye,
Whereas he trust not in his servants, and perceives perverseness in his angels.
19 mpo na nini te epai ya bato oyo basalema na mabele, ba-oyo bazali kaka putulu mpe bakoki kofinafina bango lokola mitsopi?
But [as for] them that dwell in houses of clay, of whom we also are formed of the same clay, he smites them like a moth.
20 Kobanda na tongo kino na pokwa, bakataka-kataka bango na biteni; bakufaka mpo na libela, mpe moto ata moko te alandelaka likambo na bango;
And from the morning to evening they no longer exist: they have perished, because they can’t help themselves.
21 basinga oyo esimbaka bandako na bango ya kapo epikolamaka na mbalakata, mpe bakufaka ndenge wana bazanga bwanya. ›
For he blows upon them, and they are withered: they have perished for lack of wisdom.
