< Jeremi 38 >
1 Shefatia, mwana mobali ya Matani; Gedalia, mwana mobali ya Pashuri; Yukali, mwana mobali ya Shelemia; mpe Pashuri, mwana mobali ya Malikiya, bayokaki makambo oyo Jeremi azalaki koyebisa bato nyonso. Azalaki koloba:
Shephatiah son of Mattan, Gedaliah son of Pashhur, Jucal son of Shelemiah, and Pashhur son of Malchijah heard what Jeremiah was telling everyone:
2 « Tala liloba oyo Yawe alobi: ‹ Moto nyonso oyo akotikala kati na engumba oyo akokufa na mopanga, na nzala makasi to mpe na bokono oyo ebomaka; kasi ye oyo akobima mpo na kokende komikaba epai ya bato ya Babiloni akobika, akokufa te; bomoi na ye ekozala bomengo na ye ya bitumba, mpe akotikala na bomoi. ›
This is what the Lord says: Anyone who remains in this city will die from war and famine and disease, but anyone who goes over to the Babylonians will live. Their reward will be to save their lives.
3 Tala liloba oyo Yawe alobi: ‹ Engumba oyo ekokweya na maboko ya basoda ya mokonzi ya Babiloni, oyo akobotola yango. › »
This is what the Lord says: Be sure of this—Jerusalem will be handed over to the army of the king of Babylon. He is going to capture it.
4 Bakalaka balobaki na mokonzi: — Moto oyo asengeli kokufa! Maloba na ye ezali kolembisa basoda mpe bato oyo batikali kati na engumba oyo; azali koluka bolamu ya bato oyo te, kasi azali nde koluka mabe na bango.
The officers told the king, “This man deserves to die because he's demoralizing the defenders left in the city, and all the people too, by telling them this. This man isn't trying to help these people, he's only going to destroy them.”
5 Mokonzi Sedesiasi azongisaki: — Azali na maboko na bino; mokonzi akoki koboya likanisi na bino te!
“Well, you can do whatever you want to him,” King Zedekiah replied. “I can't stop you.”
6 Boye, bakamataki Jeremi mpe babwakaki ye kati na libulu ya Malikiya, mwana mobali ya mokonzi; libulu yango ezalaki kati na lopango ya bakengeli. Bakitisaki Jeremi kati na libulu na nzela ya basinga; libulu ezalaki na mayi te, kaka na potopoto; mpe Jeremi azindaki makasi kati na potopoto yango.
So they took Jeremiah and put him in the cistern belonging to Malchiah, the king's son, which was in the guard's courtyard. They lowered Jeremiah down with ropes into the cistern. It didn't have any water, only mud, and Jeremiah sank into the mud.
7 Ebedi-Meleki, moto ya Kushi, kalaka ya lokumu oyo azalaki kosala kati na ndako ya mokonzi, ayokaki ete babwaki Jeremi kati na libulu. Boye, wana mokonzi avandaki na Ekuke ya Benjame,
Ebed-melech the Cushite, a royal official in the king's palace, found out that they had put Jeremiah in the cistern. The king was sitting at the Benjamin Gate,
8 Ebedi-Meleki abimaki na ndako ya mokonzi mpe akendeki koloba na mokonzi:
so Ebed-melech left the palace and went to talk to the king
9 — Mokonzi, nkolo na ngai, kati na nyonso oyo basali mosakoli Jeremi, bato oyo basali mabe penza! Basili kobwaka ye kati na libulu epai wapi akokufa na nzala, mpo ete mapa ezali lisusu te kati na engumba!
“My lord the king, all these terrible things these men have done to Jeremiah the prophet are evil. They've put him in the cistern, and he'll starve to death there because there's no more bread left in the city.”
10 Mokonzi apesaki mitindo oyo epai ya Ebedi-Meleki, moto ya mokili ya Kushi: — Kamata awa mibali tuku misato elongo na yo, mpe bobimisa mosakoli Jeremi wuta na libulu liboso ete akufa.
So the king gave the order to Ebed-melech the Cushite, “Take thirty men with you and go and pull Jeremiah the prophet out of the cistern before he dies.”
11 Ebedi-Meleki akamataki mibali yango mpe akendeki na ndako ya mokonzi, kati na shambre oyo ezalaki na se ya ebombelo bomengo; azwaki kuna bilamba ya kala mpe oyo epasuka, mpe akitisaki yango na nzela ya basinga epai ya Jeremi kati na libulu.
Ebed-melech took the men and went to the storehouse under the palace. He took some rags and old clothes from there and then went to the cistern where he lowered them with ropes to Jeremiah.
12 Ebedi-Meleki, moto ya Kushi, alobaki na Jeremi: — Tia bilamba oyo na se ya mapeka na yo, likolo ya basinga oyo mpo na kobatela mapeka na yo. Jeremi asalaki se bongo.
Ebed-melech the Cushite called down to Jeremiah, “Put these rags and old clothes under your arms to protect you from the ropes.” Jeremiah did so,
13 Babendaki ye na basinga mpe babimisaki ye na libulu. Mpe Jeremi avandaki kati na lopango ya bakengeli.
and using the ropes they pulled him up and took him out of the cistern. Jeremiah stayed there in the guard's courtyard.
14 Mokonzi Sedesiasi atindaki ete bamemela ye mosakoli Jeremi mpe bakotisa ye na Ekuke ya misato ya Tempelo ya Yawe. Mokonzi alobaki na Jeremi: — Nazali na likambo moko ya kotuna epai na yo; kobombela ngai eloko moko te!
Then King Zedekiah sent for Jeremiah the prophet and met him at the third Temple entrance. “I need to ask you something,” the king told Jeremiah. “You mustn't hide anything from me.”
15 Jeremi alobaki na mokonzi Sedesiasi: — Soki nayebisi yo yango, okoboma ngai te? Ezala napesi yo toli, okoyokela na yo ngai te.
“If I tell you then you'll definitely have me killed,” Jeremiah replied. “Even if I were to give you advice, you wouldn't listen to me anyway.”
16 Kasi mokonzi Sedesiasi alapaki ndayi na nkuku epai ya Jeremi: — Na Kombo na Yawe oyo apesaka biso pema, nakoboma yo te, mpe nakokaba yo te na maboko ya bato oyo balingi koboma yo!
King Zedekiah solemnly promised Jeremiah in private, “As the Lord lives, who gave us this life, I won't have you killed, and I won't hand you over to those who want to kill you.”
17 Bongo Jeremi alobaki na Sedesiasi: — Tala liloba oyo Yawe, Mokonzi ya mampinga mpe Nzambe ya Isalaele, alobi: « Soki kaka omipesi epai ya bakonzi ya basoda ya mokonzi ya Babiloni, yo mpe libota na yo bokokufa te, mpe engumba oyo ekobebisama na moto te.
Then Jeremiah told Zedekiah, “This is what the Lord God Almighty, the God of Israel, says: ‘If you hand yourself over to the officers of the king of Babylon, then you'll live. Jerusalem won't be burned down, and you and your family will survive.
18 Kasi soki oboyi komipesa epai ya bakonzi ya basoda ya mokonzi ya Babiloni, engumba oyo ekokweya na maboko ya bato ya Babiloni mpe bakotumba yango, bongo ezala yo, okobika te na maboko na bango. »
But if you don't hand yourself over to the officers of the king of Babylon, then this city will be given to the Babylonians. They will burn it down, and you yourself won't escape being captured.”
19 Mokonzi Sedesiasi alobaki na Jeremi: — Nazali kobanga Bayuda oyo bakei na ngambo ya bato ya Babiloni, mpo ete bato ya Babiloni bakoki kokaba ngai na maboko na bango mpe bakonyokola ngai.
But King Zedekiah said to Jeremiah, “I am afraid of the those people of Judah who have gone over to the Babylonians, because the Babylonians might hand me over the them so they could abuse me.”
20 Jeremi azongisaki: — Te, bakokaba yo te! Nabondeli yo, tosa Yawe mpe sala makambo oyo nazali koyebisa yo; bongo nyonso ekotambola malamu mpo na yo mpe okobikisa bomoi na yo.
“They won't hand you over,” Jeremiah replied. “If you obey what the Lord says by doing what I tell you, then things will go well for you and you'll live.
21 Kasi soki oboyi komipesa epai na bango, tala makambo oyo Yawe atalisi ngai:
But if you refuse to hand yourself over, this is what the Lord has told me:
22 « Bakomema basi nyonso oyo bavandaka kati na ndako ya mokonzi ya Yuda epai ya bakonzi ya basoda ya mokonzi ya Babiloni, mpe basi yango bakoloba: ‹ Baninga na yo ya motema bakosi yo mpe balongi yo. Matambe na yo ezindi na potopoto, baninga na yo bakimi yo! › »
All the women who are left in the palace of the king of Judah will be led out and handed over to the officials of the king of Babylon Those women will say: ‘Those good friends of yours! You were taken in by them and conquered by them. Your feet got stuck in the mid, so they abandoned you.’
23 Bakomema basi na yo nyonso mpe bana na yo nyonso epai ya bato ya Babiloni; mpe yo moko okobika te na maboko na bango, mokonzi ya Babiloni akokanga yo mpe akobebisa engumba oyo na moto.
All your wives and children will be handed over to the Chaldeans. And you yourself will not escape, for you will be captured by the king of Babylon, and Jerusalem will be burned down.”
24 Sedesiasi alobaki na Jeremi: — Tika ete moto moko te ayeba makambo oyo, mpe okokufa te.
Zedekiah warned Jeremiah, “Nobody can find out about this conversation, otherwise you'll die.
25 Soki bakalaka bayoki ete tosololi na yo mpe bayei kotuna yo: « Yebisa biso makambo oyo oyebisi mokonzi mpe oyo mokonzi ayebisi yo. Kobombela biso eloko te, soki te, tokoboma yo. »
If the officers find out that I've talked with you, and they come and ask you, ‘Tell us what you and the king were talking about! Don't hide anything from us, or we'll kill you;’
26 Loba bango: « Nakomisi libondeli na ngai liboso ya mokonzi mpo ete azongisa ngai na ndako ya Jonatan te, noki te nakokufela kuna. »
then you are to tell them, ‘I was asking the king to grant my request not to return me to the house of Jonathan to die there.’”
27 Bakalaka nyonso bayaki epai ya Jeremi mpe batunaki ye mituna; ye mpe ayebisaki bango makambo nyonso, ndenge kaka mokonzi atindaki ye. Boye, lokola bazalaki lisusu na likambo ya koloba na ye te, pamba te moto moko te ayokaki masolo na ye na mokonzi, babendanaki na kimia.
When all the officers came to Jeremiah wanting to know, he repeated to them exactly what the king had told him to say. So they didn't ask him anything more because no one had heard what had been said.
28 Jeremi atikalaki kati na lopango ya bakengeli kino na mokolo oyo babotolaki engumba Yelusalemi.
Jeremiah remained there in the guard's courtyard until the day Jerusalem was captured.
