1 Efrayimi aliaka mopepe; mikolo nyonso, alandaka mopepe ya este; mosala na ye kokosa mpe kosala bato mabe. Asalaka boyokani elongo na Asiri mpe atindaka mafuta ya olive na Ejipito.
Ephraim feeds on the wind and follows after the east wind. He continually multiplies lies and violence. They make a covenant with Assyria and carry olive oil to Egypt.
2 Yawe alingi kosamba na Yuda; akopesa Jakobi etumbu kolanda etamboli na ye mpe akofuta ye kolanda misala na ye.
Yahweh also has a lawsuit against Judah and will punish Jacob for what he has done; he will repay him for his deeds.
3 Na libumu ya mama na bango, akangaki ndeko na ye ya mobali na litambe; tango akomaki mokolo, abundaki na Nzambe.
In the womb Jacob grasped his brother by the heel, and in his manhood he struggled with God.
4 Abundaki na anjelu mpe alongaki, alelaki mpe asengaki ngolu na ye. Jakobi akutanaki na ye na Beteli, mpe ezali kuna nde asololaki na ye.
He struggled with the angel and won. He wept and begged for his favor. He met God at Bethel; there God spoke with him.
5 Yawe Nzambe, Mokonzi ya mampinga, Kombo na Ye ya lokumu ezali Yawe.
This is Yahweh, the God of hosts; “Yahweh” is his name to be called on.
6 Kasi yo, osengeli kozonga epai ya Nzambe na yo; batela bolingo mpe bosembo mpe tia tango nyonso elikya na Nzambe na yo.
So turn to your God. Keep covenantal faithfulness and justice, and wait continually for your God.
7 Bato ya Kanana basalelaka emekelo kilo ya lokuta, balingaka kaka kokosa.
The merchants have false scales in their hands; they love to defraud.
8 Efrayimi alobaka na lolendo nyonso: « Ngai nazali mozwi, nakomi na bozwi mingi. Na mosala na Ngai nyonso, bakotikala komona Ngai na mbeba ata moko te oyo bakoki kobenga lisumu. »
Ephraim said, “I have certainly become very rich; I have found wealth for myself. In all my work they will not find any iniquity in me, anything that would be sin.”
9 Nazali Yawe, Nzambe na yo, oyo abimisaki yo wuta na Ejipito; nakosala ete ovanda lisusu na se ya bandako ya kapo lokola na mikolo ya bafeti na yo, oyo ekatama.
“I am Yahweh your God from the land of Egypt. I will again make you live in tents, as in the days of the appointed festival.
10 Nalobaki na nzela ya basakoli, napesaki bango bimoniseli ebele mpe nalobaki na masese na nzela na bango.
I spoke to the prophets, and I gave them many visions for you. By the hand of the prophets I gave parables.”
11 Lokola Galadi etondi na mabe, ekokoma eloko pamba mpo ete bato na yango babonzaki bangombe ya mibali na Giligali; mpe bitumbelo na bango ekobukama mpe ekokoma mipiku ya mabanga kati na banzela ya mikala ya bilanga.
If there is wickedness in Gilead, surely the people are worthless. In Gilgal they sacrifice bulls; their altars will be like heaps of stone in the furrows of the fields.
12 Jakobi akimaki na mokili ya Siri; Isalaele asalaki mosala mpo na kozwa mwasi; mpe mpo na kobala mwasi yango, andimaki kokoma mobateli bibwele.
Jacob fled to the land of Aram; Israel worked in order to get a wife; and he kept flocks of sheep to get a wife.
13 Yawe asalelaki mosakoli mpo na kobimisa Isalaele wuta na Ejipito, abatelaki ye na nzela ya mosakoli.
Yahweh brought Israel out of Egypt by a prophet, and by a prophet he took care of them.
14 Kasi Efrayimi atumbolaki kanda na Ye makasi, yango wana, Nkolo na ye akotangela ye ngambo ya makila oyo asopaki mpe akofuta ye kolanda mabe na ye.
Ephraim has bitterly angered Yahweh. So his Lord will leave his blood on him and will turn back on him his disgrace.
