1 Tango banguna ya Yuda mpe ya Benjame bayokaki ete bato oyo bawutaki na bowumbu bazali kotonga Tempelo ya Yawe, Nzambe ya Isalaele,
And they that afflicted Juda and Benjamin heard, that the children of the captivity were building a house to the Lord God of Israel.
2 bayaki epai ya Zorobabeli mpe bakambi ya mabota; balobaki na bango: — Botika ete tosunga bino na mosala ya kotonga Tempelo oyo, pamba te biso mpe tolukaka Nzambe na bino mpe tobonzelaka Ye mbeka wuta na tango ya Esari-Adoni, mokonzi ya Asiri, oyo amemaki biso awa.
And they drew near to Zorobabel, and to the heads of families, and said to them, We will build with you; for as you [do], we seek [to serve] our God, and we do sacrifice to him from the days of Asaradan king of Assur, who brought us hither.
3 Kasi Zorobabeli, Jozue mpe bakambi mosusu ya mabota ya Isalaele bazongisaki: — Bokotonga te elongo na biso Tempelo ya Yawe, Nzambe na biso; tokotonga yango biso moko mpo na Yawe, Nzambe ya Isalaele, kolanda mitindo ya Sirisi, mokonzi ya Persi.
then Zorobabel, and Jesus and the rest of the heads of the families of Israel said to them, [It is] not for us and you to build a house to our God, for we ourselves will build together to the Lord our God, as Cyrus the king of the Persians commanded us.
4 Bato ya bikolo oyo ezalaki elongo na bango kati na mboka balembisaki bato ya Yuda nzoto mpe babangisaki bango mpo ete bakoba lisusu te kotonga;
And the people of the land weakened the hands of the people of Juda, and hindered them in building,
5 bapesaki bapesi toli kanyaka mpo ete batelemela mpe babebisa mabongisi na bango na nzela ya batoli ya mabe, na mikolo nyonso ya Sirisi kino na oyo ya Dariusi, bango mibale bakonzi ya Persi.
and [continued] hiring [persons] against them, plotting to frustrate their counsel, all the days of Cyrus king of the Persians, and until the reign of Darius king of the Persians.
6 Kaka na ebandeli ya bokonzi ya Kizerisesi, batindelaki ye mokanda mpo na kofunda bato ya Yuda mpe ya Yelusalemi.
And in the reign of Assuerus, even in the beginning of his reign, they wrote a letter against the inhabitants of Juda and Jerusalem.
7 Bongo na mikolo ya Aritakizerisesi lokola mokonzi ya Persi, Bishilami, Mitredati, Tabeyeli mpe baninga na bango ya mosala bakomelaki Aritakizerisesi mokanda. Bakomaki yango na makomi mpe na lokota ya Arami.
And in the days of Arthasastha, Tabeel wrote peaceably to Mithradates and to the rest of his fellow-servants: the tribute-gatherer wrote to Arthasastha king of the Persians a writing in the Syrian tongue, and [the same] interpreted.
8 Moyangeli Rewumi mpe Shimishayi, mokomi mikanda na ye, bakomelaki mokonzi Aritakizerisesi mokanda oyo na tina na Yelusalemi:
Reum the chancellor, and Sampsa the scribe wrote an epistle against Jerusalem to King Arthasastha, [saying, ]
9 « Moyangeli Rewumi mpe Shimishayi, mokomi mikanda, elongo na baninga na bango, basambisi mpe bakambi ya bato ya Dini, ya Arifarisataki, ya Taripeli, ya Afarasi, ya Ereki, ya Babiloni, ya Size, ya Deya, ya Elami,
Thus has judged Reum the chancellor, and Sampsa the scribe, and the rest of our fellow-servants, the Dinaeans, the Apharsathachaeans, the Tarphalaeans, the Apharsaeans, the Archyaeans, the Babylonians, the Susanachaeans, Davaeans,
10 mpe bato ya bikolo mosusu oyo Asuribanipali, mokonzi monene mpe mokonzi ya lokumu, amemaki na bowumbu mpo na kotia bango kati na engumba Samari mpe kati na bituka nyonso ya ngambo ya weste ya ebale Efrate. »
and the rest of the nations whom the great and noble Assenaphar removed, and settled them in the cities of Somoron, and the rest [of them] beyond the river.
11 Tala maloba oyo batindelaki ye na mokanda: « Epai ya mokonzi Aritakizerisesi. Maloba kowuta na biso basali na yo, bato ya ngambo ya weste ya ebale Efrate.
This [is] the purport of the letter, which they sent to him: Your servants the men beyond the river to king Arthasastha.
12 Tika ete mokonzi ayeba ete Bayuda oyo bawutaki epai na yo bakomi kati na biso, na Yelusalemi; bazali kotonga engumba ya batomboki mpe ya bato ya mobulu, bazali kotonga bamir mpe kobongisa lisusu miboko.
Be it known to the king, that the Jews who came up from you to us have come to Jerusalem the rebellious and wicked city, which they are building, and its walls are set in order, and they have established the foundations of it.
13 Tika ete mokonzi ayeba lisusu ete, soki engumba oyo etongami lisusu mpe babongisi bamir na yango, bakofuta lisusu te mpako ya mokonzi, mpako ya mabele mpe mpako ya nzela; na bongo, bomengo ya mokonzi ekokita.
Now then be it known to the king, that if that city be built up, and its walls completed, you shall have no tribute, neither will they pay [anything], and this injures kings.
14 Sik’oyo, lokola tozwi libaku ya kosala epai ya mokonzi mpe lokola ezali malamu te mpo na biso komona lokumu ya mokonzi kobebisama, totindi sango oyo mpo na kotalisa makambo oyo epai ya mokonzi
And it is not lawful for us to see the dishonour of the king: therefore have we sent and made known [the matter] to the king;
15 mpo ete baluka kati na babuku ya bakonzi oyo bazalaki liboso na yo mpo na kososola malamu. Okomona solo kati na babuku yango ete engumba oyo ezali engumba ya batomboki, etungisaka bakonzi mpe bituka. Mpe lisusu, wuta kala, ezali esika ya batomboki. Yango wana engumba oyo ebebisamaki.
That examination may be made in your fathers' book of record; and you shall find, and you shall know that city [is] rebellious, and does harm to kings and countries, and there are in the midst of it from very old time refuges for [runaway] slaves: therefore this city has been made desolate.
16 Tozali koyebisa mokonzi ete soki batongi lisusu engumba oyo mpe babongisi bamir na yango, okotikala lisusu na eloko moko te na ngambo ya weste ya ebale Efrate. »
We therefore declare to the king, that, if that city be built, and its walls be set up, you shall not have peace.
17 Mokonzi azongisaki eyano oyo: « Epai ya moyangeli Rewumi; Shimishayi, mokomi mikanda na ye, mpe baninga na bango mosusu ya mosala oyo bavandaka na Samari mpe kati na bituka nyonso na ngambo ya weste ya ebale Efrate: Napesi bino mbote.
Then the king sent to Reum the chancellor, and Sampsa the scribe, and the rest of their fellow-servants who lived in Samaria, and the rest beyond the river, [saying, ]Peace; and he says,
18 Batangaki mpe babongolaki na miso na ngai mokanda oyo botindelaki biso.
The tribute-gatherer whom you sent to us, has been called before me.
19 Napesaki mitindo mpo ete baluka koyeba mpe kososola bosolo. Boye emonani solo ete, wuta na kala, engumba oyo etombokelaka kaka bakonzi mpe etindaka bato na botomboki mpe na mobulu.
And a decree has been made by me, and we have examined, and found that city of old time exalts itself against kings, and that rebellions and desertions take place within it.
20 Na Yelusalemi, ezalaki na bakonzi ya nguya oyo bazalaki kokonza etuka mobimba ya ngambo ya weste ya ebale Efrate mpe epai ya banani bazalaki kofuta mpako ya mokonzi, mpako ya mabele mpe mpako ya nzela.
And there were powerful kings in Jerusalem, and they ruled over all the [country] beyond the river, and abundant revenues and tribute were given to them.
21 Boye, bopesa sik’oyo mitindo epai ya bato wana ete bakoba lisusu te kotonga mpo ete engumba wana etongama lisusu te kino tango ngai moko nakopesa mitindo.
Now therefore make a decree to stop the work of those men, and that city shall no more be built.
22 Bosala keba ete bozwa likambo oyo na pete te. Mpo na nini kotika nzela ete mobulu oyo ekola mpe ekitisa bomengo ya mokonzi? »
[See] that you be careful of the decree, [not] to be remiss concerning this matter, lest at any time destruction should abound to the harm of kings.
23 Tango kaka batangaki mokanda ya mokonzi Aritakizerisesi liboso ya Rewumi; Shimishayi, mokomi mikanda na ye, mpe baninga na bango ya mosala bakendeki mbala moko na Yelusalemi epai ya Bayuda mpe bapekisaki bango na makasi ete bakoba lisusu te kotonga.
Then the tribute-gatherer of king Arthasastha read [the letter] before Reum the chancellor, and Sampsa the scribe, and his fellow-servants: and they went in haste to Jerusalem and through Juda, and caused them to cease with horses and an [armed] force.
24 Wuta tango wana, misala ya Ndako ya Nzambe kati na Yelusalemi etelemaki kino na mobu ya mibale ya bokonzi ya Dariusi, mokonzi ya Persi.
Then ceased the work of the house of God in Jerusalem, and it was at a stand until the second year of the reign of Darius king of the Persians.
