< Kobima 17 >

1 Lisanga mobimba ya bana ya Isalaele elongwaki na esobe ya Tsini mpe ezalaki kotambola kolanda ndenge Yawe azalaki kotinda. Batongaki molako na bango na Refidimi, kasi mayi ya komela ezalaki te mpo na bato.
All the congregation of the children of Israel [God prevails] traveled from the wilderness of Cin [Clay], by their journeys, according to Adonai’s order, and encamped in Rephidim; but there was no water for the people to drink.
2 Bato ya Isalaele baswanisaki Moyize, balobaki na ye: — Pesa biso mayi ya komela! Moyize azongiselaki bango: — Mpo na nini bozali koswanisa ngai? Mpo na nini bolingi komeka Yawe?
Therefore the people quarreled with Moses [Drawn out], and said, “Give us water to drink.” Moses [Drawn out] said to them, “Why do you quarrel with me? Why do you test Adonai?”
3 Lokola posa ya mayi elekaki makasi, bato bayimaki-yimaki epai ya Moyize mpe balobaki: — Mpo na nini obimisaki biso na Ejipito? Ezali mpo ete obomisa biso, bana na biso mpe bibwele na biso na posa ya mayi?
The people were thirsty for water there; and the people murmured against Moses [Drawn out], and said, “Why have you brought us up out of Egypt [Abode of slavery], to kill us, our children, and our livestock with thirst?”
4 Moyize abelelaki Yawe: — Nasala nini mpo na bato oyo? Etikali kaka moke ete babamba ngai mabanga!
Moses [Drawn out] cried to Adonai, saying, “What shall I do with these people? They are almost ready to stone me.”
5 Yawe azongiselaki Moyize: — Leka liboso ya bato, kamata ndambo ya bakambi ya Isalaele. Zwa na loboko na yo, lingenda oyo obetaki na ebale Nili, mpe kende.
Adonai said to Moses [Drawn out], “Walk on before the people, and take the elders of Israel [God prevails] with you, and take the rod in your hand with which you struck the Nile, and go.
6 Ngai nakotelema kuna, liboso na yo, na likolo ya libanga oyo ezali na ngomba Orebi. Okobeta libanga yango, mpe yango ekobimisa mayi, bongo bato bakomela. Moyize asalaki bongo na miso ya bakambi ya Isalaele.
Behold, I will stand before you there on the rock in Horeb [Desert]. You shall strike the rock, and water will come out of it, that the people may drink.” Moses [Drawn out] did so in the sight of the elders of Israel [God prevails].
7 Abengaki esika yango Masa mpe Meriba, pamba te bana ya Isalaele baswanisaki ye mpe bamekaki Yawe tango balobaki: « Boni, Yawe yango azali kati na biso to te? »
He called the name of the place Massah [Testing], and Meribah [Quarreling], because the children of Israel [God prevails] quarreled, and because they tested Adonai, saying, “Is Adonai among us, or not?”
8 Bato ya Amaleki bayaki mpe babundisaki bana ya Isalaele na Refidimi.
Then Amalek [Man who licks up] came and fought with Israel [God prevails] in Rephidim.
9 Moyize alobaki na Jozue: — Ponela biso bilombe ya bitumba kati na bato; mpe lobi; wana yo okende kobundisa bato ya Amaleki, ngai nakotelema na likolo ya ngomba moke elongo na lingenda ya Nzambe na loboko na ngai.
Moses [Drawn out] said to Joshua [Yah Salvation], “Choose men for us, and go out, fight with Amalek [Man who licks up]. Tomorrow I will stand on the top of the hill with God’s rod in my hand.”
10 Jozue asalaki ndenge Moyize atindaki ye mpe abundisaki bato ya Amaleki; wana Moyize, Aron mpe Wuri bamataki likolo ya ngomba.
So Joshua [Yah Salvation] did as Moses [Drawn out] had told him, and fought with Amalek [Man who licks up]; and Moses [Drawn out], Aaron [Light-bringer], and Hur went up to the top of the hill.
11 Tango nyonso Moyize abandaki kotombola maboko na ye mpo na kobondela, bana ya Isalaele bazalaki kolonga; kasi tango nyonso azalaki kokitisa maboko na ye, bato ya Amaleki bazalaki kolonga.
When Moses [Drawn out] held up his hand, Israel [God prevails] prevailed. When he let down his hand, Amalek [Man who licks up] prevailed.
12 Tango maboko ya Moyize elembaki, Aron mpe Wuri bakamataki libanga mpe batielaki ye yango mpo ete avandela yango; mpe Moyize avandelaki yango. Aron mpe Uri batombolaki maboko na ye, moko na ngambo moko, mpe mosusu na ngambo mosusu. Boye maboko na ye etikalaki ya kosembolama kino na pokwa.
But Moses [Drawn out]’ hands were heavy; and they took a stone, and put it under him, and he sat on it. Aaron [Light-bringer] and Hur held up his hands, the one on the one side, and the other on the other side. His hands were steady until sunset.
13 Mpe Jozue alongaki basoda ya bato ya Amaleki na mopanga.
Joshua [Yah Salvation] defeated Amalek [Man who licks up] and his people with the edge of the sword.
14 Yawe alobaki na Moyize: — Koma yango na buku lokola ekaniseli, mpe loba na Jozue ete nakosilisa bato ya Amaleki na mokili; bakotikala kokanisa bango lisusu te.
Adonai said to Moses [Drawn out], “Write this for a memorial in a book, and rehearse it in the ears of Joshua [Yah Salvation]: that I will utterly blot out the memory of Amalek [Man who licks up] from under the sky.”
15 Moyize atongaki etumbelo mpe abengaki yango « Nkolo azali bendele na ngai ya lokumu. »
Moses [Drawn out] built an altar, and called its name Adonai our Banner.
16 Moyize alobaki: « Lokola esali ete babundisi Kiti ya Bokonzi ya Yawe, Yawe akobundisa bato ya Amaleki tango nyonso. »
He said, “Yah has sworn: ‘Adonai will have war with Amalek [Man who licks up] from generation to generation.’”
