< Deteronomi 25 >

1 Soki bato bazali kowelana, bakomema likambo na bango na esambiselo, mpe basambisi bakokata likambo yango: bakolongisa moto oyo ayebi likambo te mpe bakokweyisa moto oyo asali mabe.
If there be a controversy between men, and they come nigh unto a court of justice, and they judge them; and they justify the righteous, and condemn the wicked:
2 Bongo soki esengi ete babeta moto oyo asali mabe fimbu, basambisi bakolalisa ye na mabele mpe bakobetisa ye fimbu na miso na bango; bakobetisa ye motango ya bafimbu oyo ekoki na mabe oyo asali.
Then shall it be, if the guilty man deserve to be beaten, that the judge shall cause him to lie down, and to be beaten before his face, according to the degree of his fault, by a [certain] number.
3 Kasi bakoki te kobeta ye bafimbu koleka tuku minei. Soki babeti ye fimbu koleka tuku minei, ndeko na bino akosambwa na miso na bino.
Forty stripes may he give him, not more; so that he shall not exceed to have him beaten above these with too many stripes, and thy brother be thus rendered vile before thy eyes.
4 Osengeli te kokanga monoko ya ngombe oyo ezali konika bambuma.
Thou shalt not muzzle the ox when he thresheth out the corn.
5 Soki bandeko mibali bazali kovanda elongo, mpe moko kati na bango akufi kasi atiki mwana te, mwasi oyo akufisi mobali akoki te kobala na libota mosusu; semeki na ye asengeli kozwa ye na libala mpo na kokokisa epai na ye mokumba ya kisemeki.
If brothers dwell together, and one of them die, and have no child: then shall the wife of the dead not be married abroad, unto a stranger; her husband's brother shall go in unto her, and take her to himself for wife, and perform the duty of a husband's brother unto her.
6 Mwana mobali ya liboso oyo mwasi yango akobota akozwa kombo ya ndeko mobali oyo akufa mpo ete kombo na ye ebunga te kati na Isalaele.
And it shall be, that the first-born whom she may bear shall succeed in the name of his brother who is dead; so that his name be not blotted out of Israel.
7 Soki mobali yango aboyi kobala semeki na ye ya mwasi, semeki yango ya mwasi akokende epai ya bampaka, na ekuke ya engumba, mpe akoloba na bango: « Semeki na ngai aboyi kobatela kombo ya ndeko na ye kati na Isalaele, aboyi kokokisa mokumba na ye ya kisemeki epai na ngai. »
And if the man have no desire to take his sister-in-law: then shall his sister-in-law go up to the gate unto the elders, and say, My husband's brother refuseth to raise up unto his brother a name in Israel, he will not perform on me the duty of a husband's brother.
8 Boye, bampaka ya engumba wana bakobengisa mobali yango mpe bakoloba na ye. Soki akobi kaka koboya kobala semeki na ye,
Then shall the elders of his city call him, and speak unto him; and if he persist, and say, I have no desire to take her:
9 semeki yango akopusana pembeni na ye na miso ya bampaka, akolongola ye lokolo moko ya sandale, akobwakela ye soyi na elongi, mpe akoloba na ye: « Tala ndenge basengeli kosala moto oyo aboyi kotonga ndako ya ndeko na ye ya mobali. »
Then shall his sister-in-law come nigh unto him in the presence of the elders, and pull his shoe from off his foot, and spit out before him, and shall commence and say, Thus shall be done unto that man that will not build up his brother's house.
10 Boye, kati na Isalaele, bakobanda kobenga bakitani ya moto wana « bana ya moto oyo balongola sandale. »
And his name shall be called in Israel, The house of the barefooted.
11 Soki mibali bazali kobunda, bongo mwasi moko apusani mpo na kokangola mobali na ye na loboko ya moto oyo azali kobeta ye, mpe soki mwasi yango asemboli loboko na ye mpe akangi nzoto ya mibali ya moto oyo azali kobeta mobali na ye,
When men strive together one with the other, and the wife of the one draweth near to deliver her husband out of the hand of him that smiteth him, and putteth forth her hand, and taketh him by the secrets:
12 bokokata loboko na ye. Bokoyokela ye mawa te.
Then shalt thou cut off her hand, thy eye shall not have pity.
13 Okoki te kozala na bimekelo mibale ya kilo ekesana kati na saki na yo: moko eleki kilo mpe mosusu eleki pepele.
Thou shalt not have in thy bag divers weights, a great and a small.
14 Okoki te kozala na ndako na yo na bikolo mibale ekesana mpo na kotanga na yango biloko: moko ya monene mpe mosusu ya moke.
Thou shalt not have in thy house divers measures, a great and a small.
15 Osengeli kozala na bimekelo mpe bikolo ya kotangela ya malamu mpe ya sembo, mpo ete owumela mikolo ebele kati na mokili oyo Yawe, Nzambe na yo, akopesa yo.
A perfect and just weight shalt thou have, a perfect and just measure shalt thou have; in order that thy days may be prolonged in the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee;
16 Pamba te Yawe, Nzambe na yo, amonaka nkele, moto nyonso oyo asalaka makambo wana, moto nyonso oyo asalaka makambo ya sembo te.
For an abomination of the Lord thy God is every one that doth such things, every one that acteth unrighteously.
17 Bobosana te makambo oyo bato ya Amaleki basalaki bino tango bobimaki na Ejipito:
Remember what 'Amalek did unto thee, by the way, at your coming forth out of Egypt;
18 tango bolembaki nzoto mpe bosilaki makasi, babimelaki bino na pwasa na mobembo na bino mpe babomaki bato nyonso oyo bazalaki na sima; babangaki Nzambe te.
How he met thee by the way, and smote the hindmost of thee, all that were feeble behind thee, when thou was faint and weary; and he feared not God.
19 Tango Yawe, Nzambe na bino, akopesa bino bopemi liboso ya banguna nyonso oyo bazingeli bino kati na mokili oyo Yawe, Nzambe na bino, akopesa bino mpo na kozwa lokola libula, bosengeli koboma bato ya Amaleki mpo ete botikala lisusu te kokanisa bango kati na mokili. Bobosana te kosala likambo yango.
And it shall come to pass, when the Lord thy God giveth thee rest from all thy enemies round about, in the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee for an inheritance to possess it, that thou shalt blot out the remembrance of 'Amalek from under the heavens: thou shalt not forget.
