1 Na mikolo wana, motango ya bayekoli ezalaki kaka kobakisama. Bayuda oyo bazalaki koloba lokota ya Greki bakomaki koyimayima mpo na kotelemela Bayuda oyo bazalaki koloba lokota ya Ebre, pamba te basi na bango oyo bakufisa mibali bazalaki kozangela na tango ya kokabola bilei ya mokolo na mokolo.
Now in those days, when the number of the disciples was multiplying, a complaint arose from the Hellenists against the Hebrews, because their widows were neglected in the daily service.

5 Likanisi yango esepelisaki lisanga mobimba. Boye, baponaki Etieni, moto oyo atonda na kondima mpe na Molimo Mosantu; Filipo, Prokore, Nikanori, Timoni, Parimenasi mpe Nikola, moto ya Antioshe, oyo akotaki na lingomba ya Bayuda.
These words pleased the whole multitude. They chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit, Philip, Prochorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicolaus, a proselyte of Antioch,

7 Boye, Liloba na Nzambe ezalaki kokoba kopanzana, motango ya bayekoli ezalaki mpe kobakisama makasi na Yelusalemi mpe Banganga-Nzambe ebele bakomaki kondimela Yesu.
The word of God increased and the number of the disciples greatly multiplied in Jerusalem. A great company of the priests were obedient to the faith.
8 Nzokande, Etieni, moto oyo atondaki na ngolu mpe na nguya ya Nzambe, azalaki kosala bikamwa mpe bilembo minene kati na bato.
Stephen, full of faith and power, performed great wonders and signs amongst the people.
9 Bongo bato mosusu ya ndako ya mayangani oyo ebengamaka Ndako ya mayangani ya bansomi: Bayuda ya Sirene, ya Alekizandri, ya bituka ya Silisi mpe ya Azia; bakomaki kotia tembe na miso ya Etieni.

10 Kasi bazangaki makoki ya kotelemela bwanya mpe Molimo oyo azalaki kotinda ye koloba.

11 Bongo, bapesaki kanyaka epai ya bato mpo ete baloba: « Toyokaki Etieni koloba maloba ya kofinga Moyize mpe Nzambe. »
Then they secretly induced men to say, “We have heard him speak blasphemous words against Moses and God.”
12 Batombokisaki bato, bakambi mpe balakisi ya Mobeko. Boye, bayaki kokanga Etieni na mbalakata mpe bamemaki ye na Likita-Monene.
They stirred up the people, the elders, and the scribes, and came against him and seized him, then brought him in to the council,
13 Kuna, babimisaki batatoli ya lokuta oyo balobaki: — Moto oyo azali kotika te koloba mabe mpo na kobebisa lokumu ya esika oyo ya bule mpe ya mibeko;
and set up false witnesses who said, “This man never stops speaking blasphemous words against this holy place and the law.
14 pamba te toyokaki ye koloba ete Yesu ya Nazareti akobuka Tempelo oyo mpe akobongola bizaleli oyo Moyize atikela biso.
For we have heard him say that this Jesus of Nazareth will destroy this place, and will change the customs which Moses delivered to us.”
15 Bato nyonso oyo bavandaki na Likita-Monene batalaki Etieni malamu penza, mpe bamonaki ete elongi na ye ekomaki lokola elongi ya anjelu.
All who sat in the council, fastening their eyes on him, saw his face like it was the face of an angel.
