1 Na mobu ya tuku misato na motoba ya bokonzi ya Asa, Baesha, mokonzi ya Isalaele, abundisaki Yuda; alendisaki bamir ya engumba Rama mpo na kopekisa bato kokota to kobima na mokili ya Asa, mokonzi ya Yuda.
In the thirty-sixth year of the rule of Asa, Baasha, king of Israel, went up against Judah, building Ramah so that no one was able to go out or in to Asa, king of Judah.
2 Asa azwaki na bibombelo bomengo ya Tempelo ya Yawe mpe ya ndako na ye moko palata mpe wolo, mpe atindaki yango epai ya Beni-Adadi, mokonzi ya Siri, oyo azalaki kovanda na Damasi. Atindelaki ye mpe maloba oyo:
Then Asa took silver and gold out of the stores of the Lord's house and of the king's store-house, and sent to Ben-hadad, king of Aram, at Damascus, saying,
3 « Tika ete tosala boyokani kati na ngai mpe yo ndenge ezalaki kati na tata na ngai mpe tata na yo. Tala, natindeli yo palata mpe wolo. Kende kokata boyokani na yo elongo na Baesha, mokonzi ya Isalaele, mpo ete abundisa ngai lisusu te. »
Let there be an agreement between me and you as there was between my father and your father: see, I have sent you silver and gold; go and put an end to your agreement with Baasha, king of Israel, so that he may give up attacking me.
4 Beni-Adadi andimaki maloba ya mokonzi Asa mpe atindaki bakonzi ya basoda na ye kobundisa bingumba ya Isalaele. Babotolaki Iyoni, Dani, Abele-Mayimi mpe bibombelo nyonso ya bingumba ya Nefitali.
And Ben-hadad did as King Asa said, and sent the captains of his armies against the towns of Israel, attacking Ijon and Dan and Abel-maim, and all the store-towns of Naphtali.
5 Tango kaka Baesha ayokaki bongo, atikaki kolendisa engumba Rama mpe akataki misala na yango.
Then Baasha, hearing of it, put a stop to the building of Ramah, and let his work come to an end.
6 Bongo mokonzi Asa asangisaki bato nyonso ya Yuda, mpe bamemaki wuta na Rama mabanga mpe mabaya oyo Baesha azalaki kosalela. Atongaki na yango Geba mpe engumba Mitsipa.
Then King Asa, with all Judah, took away the stones and wood with which Baasha was building Ramah, and he made use of them for building Geba and Mizpah.
7 Na tango wana, Anani, momoni makambo, akendeki epai ya Asa, mokonzi ya Yuda, mpe alobaki na ye: — Lokola otie elikya na yo na mokonzi ya Siri na esika ya kotia elikya na yo na Yawe, Nzambe na yo, ozali lisusu na bokonzi te likolo ya mampinga ya mokonzi ya Siri.
At that time Hanani the seer came to Asa, king of Judah, and said to him, Because you have put your faith in the king of Aram and not in the Lord your God, the army of the king of Aram has got away out of your hands.
8 Boni, bato ya Etiopi mpe ya Libi bazalaki te mampinga minene ya basoda elongo na bashar mpe basoda ebele oyo babundaka likolo ya bampunda? Kasi lokola ozalaki kotia elikya na yo kati na Ye, Yawe akabaki bango solo na maboko na yo.
Were not the Ethiopians and the Lubim a very great army, with war-carriages and horsemen more than might be numbered? but because your faith was in the Lord, he gave them up into your hands.
9 Pamba te Yawe atalaka mokili mobimba mpo na kosunga bato oyo mitema na bango emipesa mobimba epai na Ye. Nzokande, na likambo oyo, osali lokola moto oyo azangi mayele. Mpo na yango, kobanda lelo, okozalaka na bitumba tango nyonso.
For the eyes of the Lord go this way and that, through all the earth, letting it be seen that he is the strong support of those whose hearts are true to him. In this you have done foolishly, for from now you will have wars.
10 Mokonzi Asa asilikelaki makasi momoni makambo mpe abwakaki ye na boloko. Kaka na tango yango, Asa anyokolaki ndambo ya bato.
Then Asa was angry with the seer, and put him in prison, burning with wrath against him because of this thing. And at the same time Asa was cruel to some of the people.
11 Makambo mpe misala mosusu ya Asa, kobanda na ebandeli kino na suka, ekomama kati na buku ya masolo ya bakonzi ya Yuda mpe ya Isalaele.
Now the acts of Asa, first and last, are recorded in the book of the kings of Judah and Israel.
12 Na mobu ya tuku misato na libwa ya bokonzi na ye, Asa abelaki makasi makolo; mpe, ezala na tango oyo azali kobela makasi, alukaki Yawe te, kasi akendeki epai ya minganga.
In the thirty-ninth year of his rule, Asa had a very bad disease of the feet; but he did not go to the Lord for help in his disease, but to medical men.
13 Na mobu ya tuku minei na moko ya bokonzi na ye, Asa akendeki kokutana na bakoko na ye.
So Asa went to rest with his fathers, and death came to him in the forty-first year of his rule.
14 Bakundaki ye kati na kunda oyo asalisaki kati na engumba ya Davidi. Balalisaki ye na mbeto moko etonda na malasi, na biloko ya mike-mike ya solo kitoko mpe na kisi oyo basalelaka mpo na kokawusa nzoto ya mowei; mpe batumbaki biloko yango ebele mpo na lokumu na ye.
And they put him into the resting-place which he had made for himself in the town of David, in a bed full of sweet perfumes of all sorts of spices, made by the perfumer's art, and they made a great burning for him.
