1 Batesalonika 5
1 Mpe mpo na oyo etali tango to mokolo, bandeko, tomoni ete ezali na tina te ya kokomela bino,
And concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need of my writing to you,
2 pamba te boyebi malamu ete mokolo ya Nkolo ekoya ndenge moyibi ayaka kati na butu.
for yourselves have known thoroughly that the day of the Lord as a thief in the night doth so come,
3 Tango bato bakokoma koloba: « Tozali sik’oyo na kimia, mpe tozali lisusu na mitungisi te, » ekozala na tango wana nde libebi ekokweyela bango na mbalakata, lokola pasi ya mwasi oyo azali kobota, mpe bakokoka kokima te.
for when they may say, Peace and surety, then sudden destruction doth stand by them, as the travail [doth] her who is with child, and they shall not escape;
4 Kasi bino bandeko, bozali kati na molili te mpo ete mokolo yango ekanga bino na mbalakata lokola moyibi.
and ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that the day may catch you as a thief;
5 Pamba te bino nyonso bozali bana ya pole mpe bana ya moyi. Tozali bato ya butu te to bato ya molili te.
all ye are sons of light, and sons of day; we are not of night, nor of darkness,
6 Yango wana tolalaka pongi te lokola bato mosusu, kasi tosenzelaka mpe tomibatelaka malamu.
so, then, we may not sleep as also the others, but watch and be sober,
7 Pamba te bato oyo balalaka pongi balalaka na butu, mpe ba-oyo balangwaka masanga balangwaka na butu.
for those sleeping, by night do sleep, and those making themselves drunk, by night are drunken,
8 Kasi lokola tozali bato ya moyi, tika ete tosenzela malamu, tolata kondima mpe bolingo lokola ebombelo ya tolo, mpe tolata elikya ya lobiko lokola ekoti ya ebende.
and we, being of the day — let us be sober, putting on a breastplate of faith and love, and an helmet — a hope of salvation,
9 Pamba te Nzambe abongisa biso te mpo na kanda na Ye, kasi mpo ete tozwa lobiko na nzela ya Yesu-Klisto, Nkolo na biso,
because God did not appoint us to anger, but to the acquiring of salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,
10 oyo akufelaki biso mpo ete, ezala soki tozali na bomoi to tokufi, tozala na bomoi elongo na Ye.
who did die for us, that whether we wake — whether we sleep — together with him we may live;
11 Yango wana, bolendisanaka mpe bosunganaka bino na bino, ndenge mpe kaka bozali kosala yango.
wherefore, comfort ye one another, and build ye up, one the one, as also ye do.
12 Bandeko, tosengi na bino ete bondimaka bato oyo basalaka mosala makasi kati na bino, oyo bamitungisaka mpo na bino kati na Nkolo mpe bapesaka bino makebisi.
And we ask you, brethren, to know those labouring among you, and leading you in the Lord, and admonishing you,
13 Bomemiaka bango makasi kati na bolingo mpo na mosala na bango. Bobikaka na kimia kati na bino.
and to esteem them very abundantly in love, because of their work; be at peace among yourselves;
14 Bandeko, tozali kolendisa bino: bopesaka bagoyigoyi mpe bato ya mobulu makebisi, bolendisaka ba-oyo basili kobungisa mpiko na bango, bosungaka ba-oyo bazangi makasi, boyikanaka mpiko.
and we exhort you, brethren, admonish the disorderly, comfort the feeble-minded, support the infirm, be patient unto all;
15 Bosenzela ete moko te azongisa mabe na mabe, kasi bolukaka tango nyonso kosalanaka bolamu kati na bino mpe kosalaka bato nyonso bolamu.
see no one evil for evil may render to any one, but always that which is good pursue ye, both to one another and to all;
16 Bozalaka na esengo tango nyonso;
always rejoice ye;
17 bosambelaka na kolemba te;
continually pray ye;
18 bozongisaka matondi kati na makambo nyonso, pamba te yango nde mokano ya Nzambe mpo na bino kati na Yesu-Klisto.
in every thing give thanks, for this [is] the will of God in Christ Jesus in regard to you.
19 Bopekisaka te mosala ya Molimo Mosantu,
The Spirit quench not;
20 botiolaka masakoli te
prophesyings despise not;
21 kasi bomekaka nyonso na mozindo mpe bosimba oyo ezali malamu.
all things prove; that which is good hold fast;
22 Boboyaka mabe ya lolenge nyonso.
from all appearance of evil abstain ye;
23 Tika ete Ye moko Nzambe ya kimia abulisa bino na mobimba na bino! Tika ete mobimba na bino, molimo, elimo mpe nzoto ebatelama malamu na lolenge ete ezanga pamela na mokolo oyo Yesu-Klisto, Nkolo na biso, akoya.
and the God of the peace Himself sanctify you wholly, and may your whole spirit, and soul, and body, be preserved unblameably in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ;
24 Ye oyo azali kobenga bino azali sembo, mpe Ye nde akokokisa yango.
stedfast is He who is calling you, who also will do [it].
25 Bandeko, bobondelaka mpo na biso.
Brethren, pray for us;
26 Bopesaka bandeko nyonso mbote na nzela ya beze ya bule.
salute all the brethren in an holy kiss;
27 Nasengi na bino, na Kombo ya Nkolo, ete botangelaka bandeko nyonso mokanda oyo.
I charge you [by] the Lord, that the letter be read to all the holy brethren;
28 Tika ete ngolu ya Yesu-Klisto, Nkolo na biso, ezala na bino!
the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ [is] with you! Amen.
