< 1 Samuele 5 >
1 Sima na bango kobotola Sanduku ya Nzambe, bato ya Filisitia balongolaki yango na Ebeni-Ezeri mpe bakendeki na yango na Asidodi.
Now the Philistines had taken God’s ark, and they brought it from Ebenezer to Ashdod.
2 Bato ya Filisitia bakotisaki Sanduku ya Nzambe kati na tempelo ya Dagoni, nzambe na bango, mpe batiaki yango pembeni ya ekeko ya Dagoni.
The Philistines took God’s ark, and brought it into the house of Dagon and set it by Dagon.
3 Na tongo-tongo ya mokolo oyo elandaki, bato ya Asidodi balamukaki mpe bamonaki Dagoni, nzambe na bango, akweya na mabele, elongi etala na se, liboso ya Sanduku ya Yawe. Bazwaki mpe batelemisaki Dagoni, mpe bazongisaki ye na esika na ye.
When the people of Ashdod arose early on the next day, behold, Dagon had fallen on his face to the ground before the LORD’s ark. They took Dagon and set him in his place again.
4 Kasi tango balamukaki na tongo ya mokolo mosusu oyo elandaki, bamonaki lisusu Dagoni akweya na mabele, elongi etala na se, liboso ya Sanduku ya Yawe, moto mpe maboko ekatana, mpe etandama na ekotelo; kaka nzoto na ye nde etikalaki.
When they arose early on the following morning, behold, Dagon had fallen on his face to the ground before the LORD’s ark; and the head of Dagon and both the palms of his hands were cut off on the threshold. Only Dagon’s torso was intact.
5 Yango wana, kino na mokolo ya lelo, banganga-nzambe ya Dagoni mpe bato mosusu oyo bakotaka na tempelo ya nzambe Dagoni, na Asidodi, banyataka zingazinga ya ekotelo te.
Therefore neither the priests of Dagon nor any who come into Dagon’s house step on the threshold of Dagon in Ashdod to this day.
6 Loboko na Yawe etelemelaki bato ya Asidodi mpe ya zingazinga, ebebisaki bango mpe ekweyiselaki bango bokono ya pota ya libumu.
But the LORD’s hand was heavy on the people of Ashdod, and he destroyed them and struck them with tumors, even Ashdod and its borders.
7 Tango bato ya Asidodi bamonaki makambo oyo ekomelaki bango, balobaki: — Sanduku ya Nzambe ya Isalaele esengeli lisusu te kozala awa elongo na biso, pamba te Nzambe oyo anyokoli biso mingi na nguya na Ye; anyokoli biso mpe anyokoli Dagoni, nzambe na biso.
When the men of Ashdod saw that it was so, they said, “The ark of the God of Israel shall not stay with us, for his hand is severe on us and on Dagon our god.”
8 Na bongo, babengaki mpe basangisaki bakambi nyonso ya bato ya Filisitia, batunaki bango: — Tosengeli kosala nini na Sanduku ya Nzambe ya Isalaele. Bazongisaki: — Sanduku ya Nzambe ya Isalaele esengeli kokende na Gati. Boye bamemaki Sanduku ya Nzambe ya Isalaele na Gati.
They sent therefore and gathered together all the lords of the Philistines, and said, “What shall we do with the ark of the God of Israel?” They answered, “Let the ark of the God of Israel be carried over to Gath.” They carried the ark of the God of Israel there.
9 Kasi sima na bango komema yango kuna, loboko na Yawe etelemelaki lisusu bato ya engumba wana, ekotisaki pasi kati na bango: Yawe akweyiselaki bato ya engumba bokono ya « mosomba, » kobanda na bilenge kino na mikolo.
It was so, that after they had carried it there, the LORD’s hand was against the city with a very great confusion; and he struck the men of the city, both small and great, so that tumors broke out on them.
10 Bongo batindaki Sanduku ya Nzambe na Ekroni. Tango Sanduku ya Nzambe ekotaki na Ekroni, bato ya Ekroni bagangaki: — Bamemi Sanduku ya Nzambe ya Isalaele epai na biso mpo ete baboma biso mpe baboma bato na biso.
So they sent God’s ark to Ekron. As God’s ark came to Ekron, the Ekronites cried out, saying, “They have brought the ark of the God of Israel here to us, to kill us and our people.”
11 Boye, babengaki mpe basangisaki bakambi nyonso ya bato ya Filisitia; balobaki na bango: — Bolongola Sanduku ya Nzambe ya Isalaele, bozongisa yango na esika na yango; noki te ekoboma biso mpe ekoboma bato na biso. Somo ya kufa ekangaki engumba mobimba, pamba te loboko na Yawe ezalaki kobebisa makasi kati na yango.
They sent therefore and gathered together all the lords of the Philistines, and they said, “Send the ark of the God of Israel away, and let it go again to its own place, that it not kill us and our people.” For there was a deadly panic throughout all the city. The hand of God was very heavy there.
12 Bato oyo bakufaki te bazwaki bokono ya pota ya libumu, mpe koganga ya engumba emataki kino na likolo.
The men who didn’t die were struck with the tumors; and the cry of the city went up to heaven.
