1 Ngai Petelo, ntoma ya Yesu-Klisto; Epai ya baponami ya Nzambe oyo bazali kati na bamboka ya bapaya mpe bapalangani na bituka ya Ponti, ya Galatia, ya Kapadose, ya Azia mpe ya Bitini.

2 Kolanda mabongisi na Ye, Nzambe Tata apona bino wuta kala, abulisa bino na nzela ya Molimo na Ye mpo ete botosa Yesu-Klisto mpe bokoma peto na nzela ya makila na Ye, oyo asopaki. Tika ete ngolu mpe kimia epesamela bino na bofuluki!
chosen in accordance with the foreknowledge of God the Father, through the sanctifying work of the Spirit, with a view to their obedience and to their being sprinkled with the blood of Jesus Christ. May more and more grace and peace be granted to you.
3 Tika ete Nzambe, Tata ya Yesu-Klisto, Nkolo na biso, apambolama! Pamba te, kati na mawa monene na Ye, asalaki ete tobotama mbotama ya sika, na nzela ya lisekwa ya Yesu-Klisto kati na bakufi, mpo na kopesa biso elikya ya solo
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who in His great mercy has begotten us anew to an ever-living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
4 ete tokozwa libula oyo abombela biso kati na Likolo, libula oyo ebebaka te, ezwaka bosoto te, mpe ebungisaka kitoko na yango te. Ezali mpe kaka libula yango nde Nzambe abombela bino
to an inheritance imperishable, undefiled and unfading, which has been reserved in Heaven for you,
5 ba-oyo Nzambe abatelaka na nguya na Ye, na nzela ya kondima, mpo na lobiko oyo ekomonisama na tango ya suka.
whom God in His power is guarding through faith for a salvation that even now stands ready for unveiling at the End of the Age.
6 Bosepelaka na lobiko yango, atako bosengeli sik’oyo kotungisama mpo na mwa tango moke na nzela ya komekama ya lolenge nyonso.
Rejoice triumphantly in the prospect of this, even if now, for a short time, you are compelled to sorrow amid various trials.
7 Komekama yango eyei mpo na kotalisa bosolo ya kondima na bino mpe kosala ete bokoka kozwa masanzoli, nkembo mpe lokumu tango Yesu-Klisto akomonana. Boni, moto epetolaka wolo te? Nzokande kondima na bino ezali na motuya koleka wolo oyo ebebaka.
The sorrow comes in order that the testing of your faith--being more precious than that of gold, which perishes and yet is proved by fire--may be found to result in praise and glory and honour at the re-appearing of Jesus Christ.
8 Bolingaka Yesu-Klisto atako bomona Ye te. Atako bozali mpe kaka komona Ye te sik’oyo, bozali kondimela Ye mpe botondi na esengo ya nkembo oyo moto akoki kolimbola te,
Him you love, though your eyes have never looked on Him. In Him, though at present you cannot see Him, you nevertheless trust, and triumph with a joy which is unspeakable and is crowned with glory,
9 pamba te bozali kozwa lifuti ya kondima na bino: lobiko ya bomoi na bino.
while you are securing as the outcome of your faith the salvation of your souls.
10 Mpo na lobiko yango, basakoli oyo baloba na tina na ngolu oyo Nzambe abongisa mpo na bino balukaki penza, na molende, koyeba mabombami na yango.
There were Prophets who earnestly inquired about that salvation, and closely searched into it--even those who spoke beforehand of the grace which was to come to you.
11 Basalaki nyonso mpo na koluka koyeba tango nini mpe ndenge nini makambo oyo Molimo ya Klisto alobaki ekosalema. Molimo ya Klisto azalaki kati na bango, wana azalaki komiyebisela bango ete Klisto asengelaki komona pasi liboso ete azwa nkembo oyo ezalaki kozela Ye.
They were eager to know the time which the Spirit of Christ within them kept indicating, or the characteristics of that time, when they solemnly made known beforehand the sufferings that were to come upon Christ and the glories which would follow.
12 Nzambe atalisaki bango ete sango oyo bango bazwaki mokumba ya kotatola ezalaki mpo na bango te, kasi ezalaki nde mpo na bino. Mpe sik’oyo, bozali koyoka sango yango na minoko ya bato oyo bateyaki bino Sango Malamu na nguya ya Molimo Mosantu oyo Nzambe atindaki wuta na Likolo; mpe bango moko ba-anjelu bazalaka na posa ya koyeba yango.
To them it was revealed that they were serving not themselves but you, when they foretold the very things which have now been openly declared to you by those who, having been taught by the Holy Spirit which had been sent from Heaven, brought you the Good News. Angels long to stoop and look into these things.
13 Yango wana, boselingwa mpo na kosalela Nzambe lokola basali oyo balati bilamba ya mosala mpo na kosala; bomibatela malamu mpe botia elikya na bino mobimba kati na ngolu oyo bokozwa tango Yesu-Klisto akomonana.
Therefore gird up your minds and fix your hopes calmly and unfalteringly upon the boon that is soon to be yours, at the re-appearing of Jesus Christ.
14 Lokola bana ya botosi, botambola lisusu te kolanda baposa mabe oyo bozalaki na yango tango bozangaki boyebi.
And, since you delight in obedience, do not shape your lives by the cravings which used to dominate you in the time of your ignorance,
15 Kasi lokola Ye oyo abengaki bino azali Bule, bino mpe bozala bule kati na etamboli na bino nyonso,
but--in imitation of the holy One who has called you--you also must be holy in all your habits of life.
16 pamba te ekomama: « Bozala bule, pamba te nazali Bule. »
Because it stands written, "You are to be holy, because I am holy."
17 Lokola mpe bobelelaka Tata oyo aponaka bilongi te tango asambisaka bato nyonso kolanda misala na bango, botambola kati na kobanga Nzambe, wana bozali awa na mokili lokola bapaya.
And if you address as your Father Him who judges impartially in accordance with each man's actions, then spend in fear the time of your stay here on earth,
18 Boyebi malamu ete ezali te na nzela ya biloko oyo ebebaka lokola wolo to palata nde Nzambe akangolaki bino na bizaleli ezanga tina, oyo bozwaki epai ya bakoko na bino,
knowing, as you do, that it was not with a ransom of perishable wealth, such as silver or gold, that you were set free from your frivolous habits of life which had been handed down to you from your forefathers,
19 kasi ezali nde na nzela ya makila ya talo ya Klisto lokola mpate oyo ezangi mbeba mpe litono.
but with the precious blood of Christ--as of an unblemished and spotless lamb.
20 Nzambe abongisaki Ye mpo na yango wuta kala, liboso ete akela mokili, mpe Klisto amonani na mikolo oyo ya suka likolo na bino.
He was pre-destined indeed to this work, even before the creation of the world, but has been plainly manifested in these last days for the sake of you who, through Him,
21 Ezali na nzela na Ye nde bino bondimelaka Nzambe oyo asekwisaki Ye kati na bakufi mpe apesaki Ye nkembo, mpo ete kondima mpe elikya na bino ezala kati na Nzambe.
are faithful to God, who raised Him from among the dead and gave Him glory, so that your faith and hope are resting upon God.
22 Lokola bosili komipetola na nzela ya kotosa bosolo mpo na kolingana na bolingo ya solo, bolinganaka makasi bino na bino, na motema ya peto.
Now that, through your obedience to the truth, you have purified your souls for cherishing sincere brotherly love, you must love another heartily and fervently.
23 Pamba te bobotamaki mbotama ya sika na nzela ya Liloba na Nzambe, oyo ezali nkona oyo epesaka bomoi mpe ewumelaka seko na seko; kasi na nzela te ya nkona ya bato oyo bakufaka. (aiōn g165)
For you have been begotten again by God's ever-living and enduring word from a germ not of perishable, but of imperishable life. (aiōn g165)
24 Pamba te ekomama: « Bato nyonso bazalaka lokola matiti, mpe nkembo na bango nyonso ezalaka lokola bafololo ya bilanga. Matiti ekawukaka mpe fololo na yango ekweyaka,
"All mankind resemble the herbage, and all their beauty is like its flowers. The herbage dries up, and its flowers drop off;
