< Psalmi 4 >

1 Dāvida dziesma. Dziedātāju vadonim uz koklēm. Kad es saucu, tad paklausi mani, Tu, manas taisnības Dievs; bēdās Tu mani esi iepriecinājis; esi man žēlīgs un paklausi manu lūgšanu.
Unto the end, in verses. A psalm for David. When I called upon him, the God of my justice heard me: when I was in distress, thou hast enlarged me. Have mercy on me: and hear my prayer.
2 Cilvēku bērni, cik ilgi mans gods paliks kaunā? Cik ilgi jūs mīlēsiet nīcīgas lietas un meklēsiet melus? (Sela)
O ye sons of men, how long will you be dull of heart? why do you love vanity, and seek after lying?
3 Atzīstiet jel, ka Tas Kungs brīnišķi vadījis to, kas Viņu bīstas; Tas Kungs mani paklausa, kad es Viņu piesaucu.
Know ye also that the Lord hath made his holy one wonderful: the Lord will hear me when I shall cry unto him.
4 Dusmojiet, bet negrēkojiet, runājiet savā sirdī uz savām gultām un esiet klusu (Sela)
Be angry, and sin not: the things you say in your hearts, be sorry for them upon your beds.
5 Upurējiet taisnības upurus un paļaujaties uz To Kungu.
Offer up the sacrifice of justice, and trust in the Lord: many say, Who sheweth us good things?
6 Daudzi saka: kas mums rādīs labumu? Pacel, ak Kungs, pār mums Sava vaiga gaišumu.
The light of thy countenance O Lord, is signed upon us: thou hast given gladness in my heart.
7 Tu manai sirdij devis vairāk prieka nekā viņiem, kad tiem labības un vīna papilnam.
By the fruit of their corn, their wine and oil, they are multiplied.
8 Es apgulšos ar mieru un aizmigšu, jo Tu vien, Kungs dari, ka es droši dzīvoju.
In peace in the selfsame I will sleep, and I will rest: For thou, O Lord, singularly hast settled me in hope.
