< Psalmi 16 >

1 Dāvida sirds dziesma. Pasargi mani, ak Dievs! jo es paļaujos uz Tevi.
God, protect me because I go to you to keep me safe!
2 Es saku uz To Kungu: Tu esi Tas Kungs, bez Tevis man labuma nav.
I said to Yahweh, “You are my Lord; all the good things that I have come from you.”
3 Pie tiem svētiem, kas virs zemes, un tiem godīgiem ir viss mans labais prāts.
Your people who live in this land are wonderful; I delight to be with them.
4 Tiem, kas pieņem citu dievu, būs lielas sāpes; es neupurēšu viņu asiņu dzeramos upurus, un neņemšu savā mutē viņu vārdu.
Those who choose to worship other gods will have many things that cause them to be sad. I will not join them when they make sacrifices [to their gods]; I will not even join them when they speak [MTY] the names of their gods.
5 Tas Kungs ir mana tiesa un mana daļa, Tu glabā manu mantas tiesu.
Yahweh, you are the one whom I have chosen, and you give me great blessings. You protect me and control what happens to me.
6 Man daļa tikusi jaukā vietā, tiešām, man ir nākusi skaista manta.
Yahweh has given me a wonderful place in which to live; I am delighted with all the things that he has given me [MET].
7 Es slavēšu To Kungu, kas man dod padomu, pat naktī mana sirds mani pamāca.
I will praise Yahweh, the one who teaches/disciplines me; even at night [he] you put in my mind what is right for me to do.
8 Es turu To Kungu bez mitēšanās savā priekšā, jo Viņš man ir pa labai rokai, - es nešaubīšos.
I know that Yahweh is always with me. He is beside me; so nothing will (perturb me/cause me to be worried).
9 Tādēļ mana sirds priecājās, un mans gods līksmojās, un pat mana miesa dzīvos droši.
Therefore I am glad and I [MTY, DOU] rejoice; I can rest securely
10 Jo Tu manu dvēseli nepametīsi kapā, Savam Svētam Tu neliksi redzēt satrūdēšanu. (Sheol h7585)
because you, Yahweh, will not allow my soul/spirit to remain in the place where the dead people are; you will not allow me, your godly one, to stay there. (Sheol h7585)
11 Tu man dari zināmu dzīvības ceļu, priekš Tava vaiga ir līksmošanās pilnība, un prieks un jaukums pie Tavas labās rokas mūžīgi.
You will show me the road that leads to [receiving eternal] life, and you will make me joyful when I am with you. I will have pleasure forever when I am (at your right hand/seated next to you).
