Psalmi 124

1 Dāvida svētku dziesma. Ja Tas Kungs pie mums nebūtu bijis, tā lai jel Israēls saka,

If it had not been that the Lord was with us, let Israel now say:

2 Ja Tas Kungs pie mums nebūtu bijis, kad cilvēki pret mums cēlās:

If it had not been that the Lord was with us, When men rose up against us,

3 Tad tie mūs dzīvus būtu aprijuši, kad viņu dusmība pret mums apskaitās;

Perhaps they had swallowed us up alive. When their fury was enkindled against us,

4 Tad ūdens mūs būtu apslīcinājis, un upes būtu plūdušas pār mūsu dvēseli;

Perhaps the waters had swallowed us up.

5 Tad augsti viļņi būtu gājuši pār mūsu dvēseli.

Our soul hath passed through a torrent: perhaps our soul had passed through a water insupportable.

6 Lai Tas Kungs ir slavēts, kas mūs nav nodevis viņu zobiem par laupījumu.

Blessed be the Lord, who hath not given us to be a prey to their teeth.

7 Mūsu dvēsele ir izglābta, kā putns no mednieka valgiem: valgs pārrauts, un mēs esam izglābti.

Our soul hath been delivered as a sparrow out of the snare of the followers. The snare is broken, and we are delivered.

8 Mūsu palīdzība ir iekš Tā Kunga vārda, kas radījis debesis un zemi.

Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth.
