< Salamana Pamācības 9 >

1 Dieva gudrība ir uztaisījusi savu namu, viņa uzcirtusi savus septiņus pīlārus;
Wisdom has built her house, she has hewn out her seven pillars:
2 Viņa nokāvusi savus kaujamos, jaukusi savu vīnu, ir jau klājusi savu galdu;
She has killed her beasts; she has mingled her wine; she has also furnished her table.
3 Viņa izsūtījusi savas kalpones; viņa sauc no pilsētas augstākām vietām:
She has sent forth her maidens: she cries on the highest places of the city,
Whoever is simple, let him turn in here: as for him that wants understanding, she says to him,
5 „Nāciet, ēdiet no manas maizes, un dzeriet no vīna, ko esmu jaukusi.
Come, eat of my bread, and drink of the wine which I have mingled.
6 Atstājiet nejēdzību, tad dzīvosiet, un staigājiet pa atzīšanas ceļu!“
Forsake the foolish, and live; and go in the way of understanding.
He that reproves a scorner gets to himself shame: and he that rebukes a wicked man gets himself a blot.
8 Nepamāci smējēju, ka viņš tevi neienīst; pamāci prātīgo, tas tevi mīlēs.
Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate you: rebuke a wise man, and he will love you.
9 Dod prātīgam, tad viņš tiks jo prātīgs, māci taisnu, tad viņš pieaugs mācībā.
Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: teach a just man, and he will increase in learning.
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.
For by me your days shall be multiplied, and the years of your life shall be increased.
12 Ja tu gudrs, tad tu sev gudrs; ja tu smējējs, tad tu viens pats to nesīsi.
If you be wise, you shall be wise for yourself: but if you scorn, you alone shall bear it.
A foolish woman is clamorous: she is simple, and knows nothing.
14 Tā sēž sava nama durvīs uz goda krēsla pilsētas augstās vietās,
For she sits at the door of her house, on a seat in the high places of the city,
15 Aicināt tos, kas iet garām pa ceļu, kas staigā savās taisnās tekās.
To call passengers who go right on their ways:
16 Kas nejēga, lai griežas šurp! Un kas neprātīgs, uz to viņa saka:
Whoever is simple, let him turn in here: and as for him that wants understanding, she says to him,
Stolen waters are sweet, and bread eaten in secret is pleasant.
(Sheol h7585)
But he knows not that the dead are there; and that her guests are in the depths of hell. (Sheol h7585)
