Ījaba 35
1 Un Elihus vēl atbildēja un sacīja:
Moreover Elihu answered and said,
2 Vai tev šķiet pareizi esam, ka tu saki: mana taisnība iet pāri par Dieva taisnību,
Thinkest thou this to be right, that thou saidst, My righteousness is more than God's?
3 Ka tu saki: kas man no tās atlec, ko es ar to vairāk panākšu nekā ar saviem grēkiem?
For thou hast asked of what profit it is unto thee: what do I gain more than if I had sinned?
4 Es tev vārdu atbildēšu un taviem draugiem pie tevis:
I will reply to thee in words, and to thy companions with thee.
5 Skaties pret debesi un redzi, uzlūko padebešus, kas ir augsti pāri pār tevi.
Look unto the heavens and see; and survey the skies: they are higher than thou.
6 Ja tu grēko, ko tu Viņam vari darīt? Un lai tavu pārkāpumu daudz, ko tu Viņam padarīsi?
If thou sinnest, what doest thou against him? If thy transgressions be multiplied, what doest thou unto him?
7 Ja tu esi taisns, kas Viņam no tā tiek, jeb ko Viņš dabū no tavas rokas?
If thou be righteous, what givest thou to him? or what doth he receive of thy hand?
8 Tev cilvēkam tava bezdievība par postu, un tev cilvēka bērnam tava taisnība nāk par labu.
Thy wickedness [may affect] a man as thou [art], and thy righteousness a son of man.
9 Par varas darbu pulku tie brēc, tie kliedz lielo kungu elkoņa dēļ.
By reason of the multitude of oppressions they cry; they cry out by reason of the arm of the mighty:
10 Bet neviens nesaka: kur ir Dievs, mans Radītājs, kas ir naktī dod slavas dziesmas,
But none saith, Where is God my Maker, who giveth songs in the night,
11 Kas mūs darījis jo izmācītus, nekā lopus virs zemes, un gudrākus pār putniem apakš debess.
Who teacheth us more than the beasts of the earth, and maketh us wiser than the fowl of the heavens?
12 Tie tur brēc, bet Viņš neatbild ļauno pārgalvības dēļ.
There they cry, and he answereth not, because of the pride of evil men.
13 Tiešām, Dievs netaisnību nepaklausa un tas Visuvarenais to neuzlūko.
Surely God will not hear vanity, neither will the Almighty regard it.
14 Jebšu tu saki, ka tu Viņu neredzēsi, tā tiesas lieta ir Viņa priekšā, gaidi tik uz Viņu.
Although thou sayest thou dost not see him, judgment is before him, therefore wait for him.
15 Bet nu, ka Viņa dusmība vēl nepiemeklē, vai Viņš tādēļ vērā neliek, ka pārkāpumu ir tik daudz?
But now, because he hath not visited in his anger, doth not [Job] know [his] great arrogancy?
16 Un tomēr Ījabs tukšiem vārdiem atvēris savu muti un daudz runājis bez saprašanas.
For Job hath opened his mouth in vanity, and made words abundant without knowledge.
