Jesajas 20

1 Tanī gadā, kad Tartans gāja uz Ašdodu, Asīrijas ķēniņa Zargona sūtīts, un karoja pret Ašdodu un to uzņēma, -

In the year that Tharthan came unto Ashdod, when Sargon the king of Assyria sent him, and fought against Ashdod, and captured it;

2 Tai laikā Tas Kungs runāja caur Jesaju, Amoca dēlu, sacīdams: ej un atraisi to maisu no saviem gurniem, un novelc savas kurpes no savām kājām. Un viņš tā darīja un staigāja pliks un basām kājām.

At the same time spoke the Lord by means of Isaiah the son of Amoz, saying, Go and loosen the sackcloth from off thy loins, and thy shoe shalt thou pull off from thy foot. And he did so, walking naked and barefoot.

3 Tad Tas Kungs sacīja: tā kā Mans kalps Jesaja staigā pliks un basām kājām, trīs gadus par zīmi un priekšzīmi Ēģiptei un Moru zemei, -

And the Lord said, Just as my servant Isaiah hath walked naked and barefoot three years as a sign and token for Egypt and for Cush:

4 Tā Asīrijas ķēniņš aizvedīs Ēģiptes cietumniekus un Moru ļaužu aizdzītos, jaunus un vecus, plikus un basām kājām, ar atsegtu pakaļu Ēģiptei par kaunu.

So shall the king of Assyria lead away the prisoners of Egypt, and the exiles of Cush, young and old, naked and barefoot, even with uncovered buttocks, to the disgrace of Egypt.

5 Un iztrūcināsies un kaunēsies Moru ļaužu dēļ, uz ko paļāvās, un Ēģiptes dēļ ar ko lielījās.

And they shall be terrified, and ashamed of Cush their trust, and of Egypt their vaunt.

6 Un šīs jūrmalas ļaudis sacīs tai dienā: redzi, vai šis ir mūsu patvērums, kurp mēs skrējām pēc palīga, ka tiktu izglābti no Asīrijas ķēniņa? Kā nu mēs izglābsimies?

And the inhabitant of this isle shall say on that day, Behold, such is our trust, whither we fled for help to be delivered from the king of Assyria: and how shall we then escape?
