1 Kad starp vīriem ir kāda ķilda un tie ies priekš tiesas, tad soģiem tos būs tiesāt un taisno taisnot un netaisno notiesāt.
When there ariseth a controversy between men, and they come nigh unto judgment, and judgment is granted them, then shall they justify the righteous man, and condemn the lawless.
2 Un ja tas vainīgais sitienus pelnījis, tad lai soģis tam liek mesties zemē, un klāt būdams tam liek sitienus dot ar skaitu pēc viņa vainas.
And it shall be—if the lawless man be, worthy of stripes, then shall the judge cause him to lie down and be beaten before him, according to the measure of his lawlessness, by number:
3 Četrdesmit sitienus lai tam liek dot; Ne vairāk, lai, ja to vēl vairāk sistu pāri par to, tavs brālis nekļūst nicināts tavās acīs. -
forty stripes, may he give him not going beyond, —lest, if he do go beyond to smite him above these, with many stripes, then should thy brother be of no account in thine eyes.
4 Vērsim, kas labību min, tev nebūs purnu apsiet.-
Thou shalt not muzzle an ox when he is treading out the corn.
5 Kad brāļi kopā dzīvo un viens no tiem mirst un tam dēla nav, tad tā mirušā sievai nebūs (par sievu) tapt citam kādam svešam vīram, bet tā vīra brālis lai pie viņas ieiet un to ņem par sievu, un tai dara, kas vīra brālim pienākas.
When brethren dwell together, and one of them dieth, having, no son, the wife of the dead shall not marry outside to a stranger, —her husband’s brother, shall go in unto her, and take her unto him to wife and do for her as a husband’s brother.
6 Un to pirmdzimušo, ko viņa dzemdēs, viņam būs likt sava nomirušā brāļa vārdā, lai viņa vārds no Israēla netop izdeldēts.
And it shall be, that, the firstborn which she beareth, shall succeed in the name of his brother who is dead, —so shall his name not be wiped out from Israel.
7 Bet ja šim vīram nepatīk ņemt sava brāļa sievu, tad lai tā brāļa sieva iet pie tiem vecajiem vārtos un lai saka: mans vīra brālis liedzās savam brālim celt vārdu iekš Israēla; viņš man negrib darīt, kas vīra brālim pienākas.
But, if the man like not to take his sister-in-law, then shall his sister-in-law go up unto the gate, unto the elders, and say—My husband’s brother hath refused, to raise up unto his brother a name in Israel, he is not willing to do as a husband’s brother unto me.
8 Tad lai pilsētas vecaji viņu aicina un uz viņu runā; ja tad viņš pastāv un saka: man nepatīk viņu ņemt; -
Then shall the elders of his city call him and speak unto him, —and he shall stand and say, I like not to take her.
9 Tad lai viņa brāļa sieva iet pie viņa priekš vecaju acīm, un lai viņam novelk kurpi no kājas un lai viņam spļauj vaigā; un lai viņa atbild un saka: tā lai notiek tam vīram, kas negrib uzcelt sava brāļa namu.
Then shall his brother’s wife come near unto him in the presence of the elders, and draw his shoe from off his foot, and spit in his face, —and respond and say, Thus shall it be done unto the man who will not build up the house of his brother.
10 Un viņa vārds iekš Israēla taps nosaukts baskājas nams. -
And his name shall be called in Israel, —The house of him who had his shoe drawn off.
11 Kad vīri viens ar otru kaujās, un tā viena sieva pieiet izglābt savu vīru no viņa sitēja rokas un izstiepj savu roku un sagrābj viņa kaunumu,
When men strive together one with another, and the wife of the one draweth near to deliver her husband out of the hand of him that smiteth him, —and she putteth forth her hand, and seizeth him by his parts of shame,
12 Tad tev to roku viņai būs nocirst, - lai tava acs nežēlo. -
then shalt thou cut off her hand, thine eye shall not pity.
13 Tev nebūs divējādu svaru turēt savā kulē, lielu un mazu.
Thou shalt not have in thy bag divers weights, —a great and a small.
14 Tev nebūs divējādu pūru turēt savā namā, lielu un mazu.
Thou shalt not have in thy house divers measures, —a great and a small.
15 Lai tev ir pilnīgs un taisns svars lai tev ir pilnīgs un taisns mērs, ka tu ilgi dzīvo tai zemē, ko Tas Kungs, tavs Dievs, tev dos.
A weight full and just, shalt thou have, a measure full and just, shalt thou have, —that thy days may be prolonged upon the soil which Yahweh thy God is giving unto thee.
16 Jo ikviens, kas to dara, ikviens, kas netaisni dara, tas Tam Kungam, tavam Dievam, ir negantība. -
For an abomination unto Yahweh thy God, is every one that doeth these things, —every one that doeth unjustly.
17 Piemini, ko Amalekieši tev darīja ceļā, kad izgājāt no Ēģiptes zemes.
Remember that which Amalek did unto thee by the way when ye came forth out of Egypt;
18 Kā viņi tev pretī cēlās ceļā, un tev kāva tos pakaļējus, visus nespēcīgos aiz tevis, kad tu biji piekusis un noguris, un tie nebijās Dievu.
how he encountered thee by the way and cut off in thy rear all the worn-out behind thee, thou thyself, being weary and worn, —how he feared not God.
19 Kad nu Tas Kungs, tavs Dievs, tev būs devis dusu no visiem taviem ienaidniekiem visapkārt tai zemē, ko Tas Kungs, tavs Dievs, tev dos par īpašumu iemantot, tad Amalekiešu piemiņu tev būs izdeldēt no pasaules. Neaizmirsti to.
Therefore shall it be when Yahweh thy God hath given thee rest from all thine enemies round about in the land which Yahweh thy God is giving unto thee for an inheritance to possess it, then shalt thou wipe out the remembrance of Amalek from under the heavens, —thou shalt not forget.
