1 Bet par tiem laikiem un brīžiem, brāļi, nevajag jums rakstīt.
But concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that aught be written unto you.
2 Jo jūs paši it labi zināt, ka Tā Kunga diena nāks tāpat kā zaglis naktī.
For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.
3 Jo kad tie sacīs: miers ir un drošība, tad tā samaitāšana piepeši nāks pār tiem, kā bērnu sāpes pār grūtu sievu, un tie neizbēgs.
When they are saying, Peace and safety, then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall in no wise escape.
4 Bet jūs, brāļi, neesiet iekš tumsības, ka šī diena kā zaglis jūs sagrābj.
But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief:
5 Jūs visi esat gaismas bērni un dienas bērni; mēs neesam ne nakts ne tumsības bērni.
for ye are all sons of light, and sons of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness;
6 Tad nu lai mēs neguļam, tā kā tie citi, bet lai esam nomodā un skaidrā prātā.
so then let us not sleep, as do the rest, but let us watch and be sober.
7 Jo tie, kas guļ, guļ naktī; un kas piedzeras, tie piedzeras naktī.
For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that are drunken are drunken in the night.
8 Bet mums, kas esam dienas bērni, būs skaidrā prātā būt un apvilkt ticības un mīlestības bruņas un par bruņu cepuri pestīšanas cerību.
But let us, since we are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for a helmet, the hope of salvation.
9 Jo Dievs mūs nav nolicis uz dusmību, bet uz mūžīgas dzīvības panākšanu caur mūsu Kungu Jēzu Kristu,
For God appointed us not unto wrath, but unto the obtaining of salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,
10 Kas par mums ir miris, ka mums, vai esam nomodā, vai aizmiguši, līdz ar Viņu būs dzīvot.
who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.
11 Tāpēc pamācāties savā starpā un uztaisiet cits citu, tā kā arī jau darāt.
Wherefore exhort one another, and build each other up, even as also ye do.
12 Bet mēs jūs lūdzam, brāļi, ka jūs tos atzīstat, kas jūsu starpā strādā, un savus priekšniekus iekš Tā Kunga, un kas jūs pamāca.
But we beseech you, brethren, to know them that labor among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you;
13 Un turat tos jo vairāk mīļus viņu darba dēļ; turat mieru savā starpā.
and to esteem them exceeding highly in love for their work’s sake. Be at peace among yourselves.
14 Bet mēs jūs lūdzam, brāļi, pamāciet netiklos, ieprieciniet bailīgos, panesiet vājos, esiet lēnprātīgi pret visiem.
And we exhort you, brethren, admonish the disorderly, encourage the fainthearted, support the weak, be longsuffering toward all.
15 Pielūkojiet, ka neviens nevienam neatmaksā ļaunu ar ļaunu, bet arvien dzenaties uz labu, tā savā starpā, kā pret visiem.
See that none render unto any one evil for evil; but always follow after that which is good, one toward another, and toward all.
16 Priecājaties vienmēr.
Rejoice always;
17 Lūdziet Dievu bez mitēšanās.
pray without ceasing;
18 Pateicieties Dievam visās lietās: jo tas ir Dieva prāts iekš Kristus Jēzus pie jums.
in everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus to you-ward.
19 Nenoslāpējiet to Garu.
Quench not the Spirit;
20 Nenicinājiet praviešu mācības.
despise not prophesyings;
21 Pārbaudiet visu; to, kas labs, paturiet.
prove all things; hold fast that which is good;
22 Atraujaties no visa, kas liekās ļauns.
abstain from every form of evil.
23 Bet pats tas miera Dievs lai jūs svētī caur caurim, un viss jūsu gars un dvēsele un miesa lai bezvainīgi top pasargāti uz mūsu Kunga Jēzus Kristus atnākšanu.
And the God of peace himself sanctify you wholly; and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved entire, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
24 Uzticīgs ir Tas, kas jūs aicina, - Tas to arī darīs.
Faithful is he that calleth you, who will also do it.
25 Brāļi, lūdziet par mums.
Brethren, pray for us.
26 Sveicinājiet visus brāļus ar svētu skūpstīšanu.
Salute all the brethren with a holy kiss.
27 Es jums piekodināju no Dieva puses, lai šī grāmata top lasīta priekš visiem svētiem brāļiem.
I adjure you by the Lord that this epistle be read unto all the brethren.
28 Mūsu Kunga Jēzus Kristus žēlastība lai ir ar jums. Āmen.
