< Psalmorum 97 >
1 huic David quando terra eius restituta est Dominus regnavit exultet terra laetentur insulae multae
The LORD reigns, let the earth rejoice; let the distant shores be glad.
2 nubes et caligo in circuitu eius iustitia et iudicium correctio sedis eius
Clouds and darkness surround Him; righteousness and justice are His throne’s foundation.
3 ignis ante ipsum praecedet et inflammabit in circuitu inimicos eius
Fire goes before Him and consumes His foes on every side.
4 adluxerunt fulgora eius orbi terrae vidit et commota est terra
His lightning illuminates the world; the earth sees and trembles.
5 montes sicut cera fluxerunt a facie Domini; a facie Domini omnis terrae
The mountains melt like wax at the presence of the LORD, before the Lord of all the earth.
6 adnuntiaverunt caeli iustitiam eius et viderunt omnes populi gloriam eius
The heavens proclaim His righteousness; all the peoples see His glory.
7 confundantur omnes qui adorant sculptilia qui gloriantur in simulacris suis adorate eum omnes angeli eius
All worshipers of images are put to shame— those who boast in idols. Worship Him, all you gods!
8 audivit et laetata est Sion et exultaverunt filiae Iudaeae propter iudicia tua Domine
Zion hears and rejoices, and the towns of Judah exult because of Your judgments, O LORD.
9 quoniam tu Dominus Altissimus super omnem terram nimis superexaltatus es super omnes deos
For You, O LORD, are Most High over all the earth; You are exalted far above all gods.
10 qui diligitis Dominum odite malum custodit animas sanctorum suorum de manu peccatoris liberabit eos
Hate evil, O you who love the LORD! He preserves the souls of His saints; He delivers them from the hand of the wicked.
11 lux orta est iusto et rectis corde laetitia
Light shines on the righteous, gladness on the upright in heart.
12 laetamini iusti in Domino et confitemini memoriae sanctificationis eius
Rejoice in the LORD, you righteous ones, and praise His holy name.
