< Psalmorum 97 >

1 huic David quando terra eius restituta est Dominus regnavit exultet terra laetentur insulae multae
Jehovah reigns! Let the earth rejoice. Let the multitude of isles be glad.
2 nubes et caligo in circuitu eius iustitia et iudicium correctio sedis eius
Clouds and darkness are round about him. Righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne.
3 ignis ante ipsum praecedet et inflammabit in circuitu inimicos eius
A fire goes before him, and burns up his adversaries round about.
4 adluxerunt fulgora eius orbi terrae vidit et commota est terra
His lightnings lightened the world. The earth saw, and trembled.
5 montes sicut cera fluxerunt a facie Domini; a facie Domini omnis terrae
The mountains melted like wax at the presence of Jehovah, at the presence of the Lord of the whole earth.
6 adnuntiaverunt caeli iustitiam eius et viderunt omnes populi gloriam eius
The heavens declare his righteousness, and all the peoples have seen his glory.
7 confundantur omnes qui adorant sculptilia qui gloriantur in simulacris suis adorate eum omnes angeli eius
Let all those be put to shame who serve graven images, who boast themselves of idols. Bow yourselves to him, all ye gods.
8 audivit et laetata est Sion et exultaverunt filiae Iudaeae propter iudicia tua Domine
Zion heard and was glad, and the daughters of Judah rejoiced, because of thy judgments, O Jehovah.
9 quoniam tu Dominus Altissimus super omnem terram nimis superexaltatus es super omnes deos
For thou, Jehovah, are most high above all the earth. Thou are exalted far above all gods.
10 qui diligitis Dominum odite malum custodit animas sanctorum suorum de manu peccatoris liberabit eos
O ye who love Jehovah, hate evil. He preserves the souls of his sanctified. He delivers them out of the hand of the wicked.
11 lux orta est iusto et rectis corde laetitia
Light is sown for the righteous man, and gladness for the upright in heart.
12 laetamini iusti in Domino et confitemini memoriae sanctificationis eius
Be glad in Jehovah, ye righteous, and give thanks to the memory of his holiness.
