< Psalmorum 87 >
1 filiis Core psalmus cantici fundamenta eius in montibus sanctis
A song. A psalm of the descendants of Korah. The Lord founded the city on his holy mountain.
2 diligit Dominus portas Sion super omnia tabernacula Iacob
Jerusalem is the city that the Lord loves more than any other city in Israel.
3 gloriosa dicta sunt de te civitas Dei diapsalma
Many wonderful things are said of you, city of God! (Selah)
4 memor ero Raab et Babylonis scientibus me ecce alienigenae et Tyrus et populus Aethiopum hii fuerunt illic
I mention Egypt and Babylon as those who know me, and in addition Philistia, Tyre, and Ethiopia—“this man was born there.”
5 numquid Sion dicet homo et homo natus est in ea et ipse fundavit eam Altissimus
It will be said concerning Jerusalem, “Everyone was born there,” and the Most High will make it secure.
6 Dominus narrabit in scriptura populorum et principum horum qui fuerunt in ea diapsalma
When the Lord registers the nations, he will write, “They were born there.” (Selah)
7 sicut laetantium omnium habitatio in te
Singers and dancers alike say, “Living here I am at home.”
