< Psalmorum 75 >
1 in finem ne corrumpas psalmus Asaph cantici confitebimur tibi Deus confitebimur et invocabimus nomen tuum narrabimus mirabilia tua
“To the chief musician, Al-tashcheth, a psalm or song of Asaph.” We give thanks unto thee, O God, we give thanks, and nigh is thy name: men relate thy wondrous deeds.
2 cum accepero tempus ego iustitias iudicabo
“For I will take up a fixed time when I will judge uprightly.
3 liquefacta est terra et omnes qui habitant in ea ego confirmavi columnas eius diapsalma
The earth and all her inhabitants are melting away: I myself establish firmly her pillars.” (Selah)
4 dixi iniquis nolite inique facere et delinquentibus nolite exaltare cornu
I said unto the arrogant, Deal not arrogantly: and to the wicked, Lift not up the horn.
5 nolite extollere in altum cornu vestrum nolite loqui adversus Deum iniquitatem
Lift not up on high your horn, speak not with a stiffly erect neck.
6 quia neque ab oriente neque ab occidente neque a desertis montibus
For neither from the rising [of the sun], nor from [his] setting, nor from the wilderness of mountains [cometh this];
7 quoniam Deus iudex est hunc humiliat et hunc exaltat
But God is the judge: he lowereth one, and lifteth up another,
8 quia calix in manu Domini vini meri plenus mixto et inclinavit ex hoc in hoc verum fex eius non est exinanita bibent omnes peccatores terrae
For there is a cup in the hand of the Lord, and the wine foameth, it is full of mixture: and he poureth out of the same; but its lees they drain, they drink—all the wicked of the earth.
9 ego autem adnuntiabo in saeculum cantabo Deo Iacob
But I will declare for ever, I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.
10 et omnia cornua peccatorum confringam et exaltabuntur cornua iusti
And all the horns of the wicked will I hew off; but the horns of the righteous shall be exalted.
