< Psalmorum 61 >
1 in finem in hymnis David exaudi Deus deprecationem meam intende orationi meae
To the Chief Musician. Upon a Stringed Instrument. David’s. Hear, O God, my loud cry, Attend unto my prayer:
2 a finibus terrae ad te clamavi dum anxiaretur cor meum in petra exaltasti me deduxisti me
From the end of the earth, unto thee do I cry, When my heart fainteth away, Unto a rock that is higher than I, wilt thou lead me.
3 quia factus es spes mea turris fortitudinis a facie inimici
For thou hast been, A Refuge to me, A Tower of Strength, from the face of the foe.
4 inhabitabo in tabernaculo tuo in saecula protegar in velamento alarum tuarum diapsalma
I would be a guest in thy tent to the ages, I would seek refuge in the concealment of thy wings. (Selah)
5 quoniam tu Deus meus exaudisti orationem meam dedisti hereditatem timentibus nomen tuum
For, thou, O God, hast hearkened to my vows, Thou hast granted a possession, unto them who revere thy Name.
6 dies super dies regis adicies annos eius usque in diem generationis et generationis
Days—unto the days of the king, wilt thou add. His years, as of generation after generation:
7 permanet in aeternum in conspectu Dei misericordiam et veritatem quis requiret eius
Let him retain his seat age-abidingly before God, Appoint that, lovingkindness and faithfulness, my watch over him!
8 sic psalmum dicam nomini tuo in saeculum saeculi ut reddam vota mea de die in diem
So, will I sing thy Name unto futurity, Paying my vows, day by day.
