< Psalmorum 34 >
1 David cum inmutavit vultum suum coram Abimelech et dimisit eum et abiit benedicam Dominum in omni tempore semper laus eius in ore meo
[By David; when he pretended to be insane before Abimelech, who drove him away, and he departed.] I will bless YHWH at all times. His praise will always be in my mouth.
2 in Domino laudabitur anima mea audiant mansueti et laetentur
My soul shall boast in YHWH. The humble shall hear of it, and be glad.
3 magnificate Dominum mecum et exaltemus nomen eius in id ipsum
Oh magnify YHWH with me. Let us exalt his name together.
4 exquisivi Dominum et exaudivit me et ex omnibus tribulationibus meis eripuit me
I sought YHWH, and he answered me, and delivered me from all my fears.
5 accedite ad eum et inluminamini et facies vestrae non confundentur
They looked to him and were radiant, and their faces are not ashamed.
6 iste pauper clamavit et Dominus exaudivit eum et de omnibus tribulationibus eius salvavit eum
This poor man cried, and YHWH heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.
7 vallabit angelus Domini in circuitu timentium eum et eripiet eos
The angel of YHWH encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them.
8 gustate et videte quoniam suavis est Dominus beatus vir qui sperat in eo
Oh taste and see that YHWH is good. Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him.
9 timete Dominum omnes sancti eius quoniam non est inopia timentibus eum
Oh fear YHWH, you his holy ones, for there is no lack with those who fear him.
10 divites eguerunt et esurierunt inquirentes autem Dominum non minuentur omni bono diapsalma
The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger, but those who seek YHWH shall not lack any good thing.
11 venite filii audite me timorem Domini docebo vos
Come, you children, listen to me. I will teach you the fear of YHWH.
12 quis est homo qui vult vitam cupit videre dies bonos
Who is someone who desires life, and loves many days, that he may see good?
13 prohibe linguam tuam a malo et labia tua ne loquantur dolum
Keep your tongue from evil, and your lips from speaking lies.
14 deverte a malo et fac bonum inquire pacem et persequere eam
Turn away from evil, and do good. Seek peace, and pursue it.
15 oculi Domini super iustos et aures eius in precem eorum
The eyes of YHWH are toward the righteous. His ears listen to their cry.
16 facies Domini super facientes mala ut perdat de terra memoriam eorum
YHWH's face is against those who do evil, to cut off the memory of them from the earth.
17 clamaverunt iusti et Dominus exaudivit et ex omnibus tribulationibus eorum liberavit eos
The righteous cry out, and YHWH hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles.
18 iuxta est Dominus his qui tribulato sunt corde et humiles spiritu salvabit
YHWH is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit.
19 multae tribulationes iustorum et de omnibus his liberavit eos
Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but YHWH delivers him out of them all.
20 Dominus custodit omnia ossa eorum unum ex his non conteretur
He protects all of his bones. Not one of them is broken.
21 mors peccatorum pessima et qui oderunt iustum delinquent
Evil shall kill the wicked. Those who hate the righteous shall be condemned.
22 redimet Dominus animas servorum suorum et non delinquent omnes qui sperant in eum
YHWH redeems the soul of his servants. None of those who take refuge in him shall be condemned.
