< Psalmorum 143 >
1 psalmus David quando filius eum persequebatur Domine exaudi orationem meam auribus percipe obsecrationem meam in veritate tua exaudi me in tua iustitia
A Melody of David. O Yahweh, hear my prayer, Give ear to my supplications, In thy faithfulness, answer me, in thy righteousness.
2 et non intres in iudicio cum servo tuo quia non iustificabitur in conspectu tuo omnis vivens
Do not then enter into judgment with thy servant, for no one living, can appear just before thee.
3 quia persecutus est inimicus animam meam humiliavit in terra vitam meam conlocavit me in obscuris sicut mortuos saeculi
For an enemy hath pursued my soul, hath crushed, to the earth, my life, hath made me dwell in dark places, like the ancient dead.
4 et anxiatus est super me spiritus meus in me turbatum est cor meum
Therefore hath my spirit, fainted concerning myself, Within me, hath, my heart, been confounded.
5 memor fui dierum antiquorum meditatus sum in omnibus operibus tuis in factis manuum tuarum meditabar
I have remembered the days of aforetime, I have talked with myself of every deed of thine, Of the work of thy hands, I would speak:
6 expandi manus meas ad te anima mea sicut terra sine aqua tibi diapsalma
I have spread out my hands unto thee, My soul, is as a thirsty land, for thee. (Selah)
7 velociter exaudi me Domine defecit spiritus meus non avertas faciem tuam a me et similis ero descendentibus in lacum
Speedily answer me, O Yahweh, My spirit faileth, —Do not hide thy face from me, or I shall be made like unto them who go down into the pit.
8 auditam mihi fac mane misericordiam tuam quia in te speravi notam fac mihi viam in qua ambulem quia ad te levavi animam meam
Let me hear, in the morning, thy lovingkindness, for, in thee, have, I trusted, —Let me know the way in which I should walk, for, unto thee, have I uplifted my soul.
9 eripe me de inimicis meis Domine ad te confugi
Rescue me from my foes, O Yahweh, Unto thee, have I come seeking refuge.
10 doce me facere voluntatem tuam quia Deus meus es tu spiritus tuus bonus deducet me in terra recta
Teach me to do thy good pleasure, for, thou, art my God, —Thy spirit, is good, thou wilt set me down to rest in a level land.
11 propter nomen tuum Domine vivificabis me in aequitate tua educes de tribulatione animam meam
For the sake of thy Name, O Yahweh, wilt thou give unto me life, In thy righteousness, wilt thou bring forth, out of distress, my soul;
12 et in misericordia tua disperdes inimicos meos et perdes omnes qui tribulant animam meam quoniam ego servus tuus sum
And, in thy lovingkindness, wilt thou exterminate my foes, —and destroy all the adversaries of my soul, because, I, am thy servant.
