Psalmorum 138

1 ipsi David confitebor tibi Domine in toto corde meo quoniam audisti verba oris mei in conspectu angelorum psallam tibi

[By David.] I will give you thanks, YHWH, with my whole heart. Before the gods I will sing praises to you.

2 adorabo ad templum sanctum tuum et confitebor nomini tuo super misericordia tua et veritate tua quoniam magnificasti super omne nomen sanctum tuum

I will bow down toward your holy temple, and give thanks to your Name for your loving kindness and for your truth; for you have exalted your Name and your word above all.

3 in quacumque die invocavero te exaudi me multiplicabis me in anima mea virtute

In the day that I called, you answered me. You encouraged me with strength in my soul.

4 confiteantur tibi Domine omnes reges terrae quia audierunt omnia verba oris tui

All the kings of the earth will give you thanks, YHWH, for they have heard the words of your mouth.

5 et cantent in viis Domini quoniam magna gloria Domini

Yes, they will sing of the ways of YHWH; for great is YHWH's glory.

6 quoniam excelsus Dominus et humilia respicit et alta a longe cognoscit

For though YHWH is high, yet he looks after the lowly; but the proud, he knows from afar.

7 si ambulavero in medio tribulationis vivificabis me super iram inimicorum meorum extendisti manum tuam et salvum me fecit dextera tua

Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you will revive me. You will stretch forth your hand against the wrath of my enemies. Your right hand will save me.

8 Dominus retribuet propter me Domine misericordia tua in saeculum opera manuum tuarum ne dispicias

YHWH will fulfill that which concerns me; your loving kindness, YHWH, endures forever. Do not forsake the works of your own hands.
