Psalmorum 131

1 canticum graduum David Domine non est exaltatum cor meum neque elati sunt oculi mei neque ambulavi in magnis neque in mirabilibus super me

“A song of the degrees by David.” O Lord, my heart was not haughty, nor were my eyes lofty: neither have I walked after matters too great, or those too wonderful for me.

2 si non humiliter sentiebam sed exaltavi animam meam sicut ablactatum super matrem suam ita retributio in anima mea

Surely I have pacified and stilled my soul, like the suckling on its mother's breast: like a suckling is in me my soul.

3 speret Israhel in Domino ex hoc nunc et usque in saeculum

Let Israel wait for the Lord from this time forth and for ever more.
