< Psalmorum 13 >
1 in finem psalmus David usquequo Domine oblivisceris me in finem usquequo avertis faciem tuam a me
For the Chief Musician. A Psalm by David. How long, LORD? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me?
2 quamdiu ponam consilia in anima mea dolorem in corde meo per diem
How long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart every day? How long shall my enemy triumph over me?
3 usquequo exaltabitur inimicus meus super me
Behold, and answer me, LORD, my God. Give light to my eyes, lest I sleep in death;
4 respice exaudi me Domine Deus meus inlumina oculos meos ne umquam obdormiam in mortem
lest my enemy say, “I have prevailed against him;” lest my adversaries rejoice when I fall.
5 nequando dicat inimicus meus praevalui adversus eum qui tribulant me exultabunt si motus fuero
But I trust in your loving kindness. My heart rejoices in your salvation.
6 ego autem in misericordia tua speravi exultabit cor meum in salutari tuo cantabo Domino qui bona tribuit mihi et psallam nomini Domini altissimi
I will sing to the LORD, because he has been good to me.
