1 factum est autem in die qua conplevit Moses tabernaculum et erexit illud unxitque et sanctificavit cum omnibus vasis suis altare similiter et vasa eius
On the same day that Moses finished putting up the Tabernacle, he anointed it and dedicated it, along with all its furniture, the altar, and all its utensils.
2 obtulerunt principes Israhel et capita familiarum qui erant per singulas tribus praefecti eorum qui numerati fuerant
The Israelite leaders who were the heads of their families came and gave an offering. They were the same leaders of the tribes who had worked on the registration of the Israelites.
3 munera coram Domino sex plaustra tecta cum duodecim bubus unum plaustrum obtulere duo duces et unum bovem singuli obtuleruntque ea in conspectu tabernaculi
They brought to the Lord an offering of six covered wagons and twelve oxen. Each leader gave an ox, and two leaders shared in giving a wagon. They presented them in front of the Tabernacle.
4 ait autem Dominus ad Mosen
The Lord told Moses,
5 suscipe ab eis ut serviant in ministerio tabernaculi et tradas ea Levitis iuxta ordinem ministerii sui
“Accept what they're giving you and use them in the work of the Tent of Meeting. Give them to the Levites to use as required.”
6 itaque cum suscepisset Moses plaustra et boves tradidit eos Levitis
Moses accepted the wagons and oxen and handed them over to the Levites.
7 duo plaustra et quattuor boves dedit filiis Gerson iuxta id quod habebant necessarium
He gave two wagons and four oxen to the families of Gershon to use as they required.
8 quattuor alia plaustra et octo boves dedit filiis Merari secundum officia et cultum suum sub manu Ithamar filii Aaron sacerdotis
He gave four wagons and eight oxen to the families of Merari, to use as they required. The work was all to be done under the direction of Ithamar, son of Aaron the priest.
9 filiis autem Caath non dedit plaustra et boves quia in sanctuario serviunt et onera propriis portant umeris
He didn't give any wagons or oxen to the Kohathites because their responsibility was to carry on their shoulders the holy objects assigned to their care.
10 igitur obtulerunt duces in dedicationem altaris die qua unctum est oblationem suam ante altare
The day the altar was anointed, the leaders came forward with their dedicatory offerings, presenting them in front of it.
11 dixitque Dominus ad Mosen singuli duces per singulos dies offerant munera in dedicationem altaris
The Lord told Moses, “Have one leader come every day and present his offering for the dedication of the altar.”
12 primo die obtulit oblationem suam Naasson filius Aminadab de tribu Iuda
The first day Nahshon, son of Amminadab, of the tribe of Judah came forward with his offering.
13 fueruntque in ea acetabulum argenteum pondo centum triginta siclorum fiala argentea habens septuaginta siclos iuxta pondus sanctuarii utrumque plenum simila conspersa oleo in sacrificium

and a peace offering of two oxen, five rams, five male goats, and five one-year-old male lambs. This was the offering of Nahshon, son of Amminadab.

So on the day the altar was anointed, the dedicatory offerings brought by the Israelite leaders were twelve silver plates, twelve silver bowls, and twelve gold dishes.
85 ita ut centum triginta argenti siclos haberet unum acetabulum et septuaginta siclos una fiala id est in commune vasorum omnium ex argento sicli duo milia quadringenti pondere sanctuarii
Each silver platter weighed a hundred and thirty shekels, and each bowl weighed seventy shekels. The total weight of the silver was two thousand four hundred shekels, (using the sanctuary shekel standard).
86 mortariola aurea duodecim plena incenso denos siclos adpendentia pondere sanctuarii id est simul auri sicli centum viginti
The twelve gold dishes filled with incense each weighed ten shekels, (using the sanctuary shekel standard). The total weight of the gold was a hundred and twenty shekels.
87 boves de armento in holocaustum duodecim arietes duodecim agni anniculi duodecim et libamenta eorum hirci duodecim pro peccato
The animals presented as a burnt offering were twelve bulls, twelve rams, and twelve one-year-old male lambs, as well as their grain offerings, and twelve male goats as the sin offering.
88 hostiae pacificorum boves viginti quattuor arietes sexaginta hirci sexaginta agni anniculi sexaginta haec oblata sunt in dedicatione altaris quando unctum est
The animals presented as a peace offering were twenty-four bulls, sixty rams, sixty male goats, and sixty one-year-old male lambs. This was the dedicatory offering for the altar once it had been anointed.
89 cumque ingrederetur Moses tabernaculum foederis ut consuleret oraculum audiebat vocem loquentis ad se de propitiatorio quod erat super arcam testimonii inter duos cherubin unde et loquebatur ei
Whenever Moses went into the Tent of Meeting to speak with the Lord, he would hear the voice speaking to him from the atonement cover on the Ark of the Testimony between the two cherubim. This is how the Lord spoke to him.
