Isaiæ 18

1 vae terrae cymbalo alarum quae est trans flumina Aethiopiae

१हाय, पंखों की फड़फड़ाहट से भरे हुए देश, तू जो कूश की नदियों के परे है;

2 qui mittit in mari legatos et in vasis papyri super aquas ite angeli veloces ad gentem convulsam et dilaceratam ad populum terribilem post quem non est alius gentem expectantem expectantem et conculcatam cuius diripuerunt flumina terram eius

२और समुद्र पर दूतों को सरकण्डों की नावों में बैठाकर जल के मार्ग से यह कह के भेजता है, हे फुर्तीले दूतों, उस जाति के पास जाओ जिसके लोग बलिष्ठ और सुन्दर हैं, जो आदि से अब तक डरावने हैं, जो मापने और रौंदनेवाला भी हैं, और जिनका देश नदियों से विभाजित किया हुआ है।

3 omnes habitatores orbis qui moramini in terra cum elevatum fuerit signum in montibus videbitis et clangorem tubae audietis

३हे जगत के सब रहनेवालों, और पृथ्वी के सब निवासियों, जब झण्डा पहाड़ों पर खड़ा किया जाए, उसे देखो! जब नरसिंगा फूँका जाए, तब सुनो!

4 quia haec dicit Dominus ad me quiescam et considerabo in loco meo sicut meridiana lux clara est et sicut nubes roris in die messis

४क्योंकि यहोवा ने मुझसे यह कहा है, “धूप की तेज गर्मी या कटनी के समय के ओसवाले बादल के समान मैं शान्त होकर निहारूँगा।”

5 ante messem enim totus effloruit et inmatura perfectio germinabit et praecidentur ramusculi eius falcibus et quae derelicta fuerint abscidentur excutientur

५क्योंकि दाख तोड़ने के समय से पहले जब फूल फूल चुकें, और दाख के गुच्छे पकने लगें, तब वह टहनियों को हँसुओं से काट डालेगा, और फैली हुई डालियों को तोड़-तोड़कर अलग फेंक देगा।

6 et relinquentur simul avibus montium et bestiis terrae et aestate perpetua erunt super eum volucres et omnes bestiae terrae super illum hiemabunt

६वे पहाड़ों के माँसाहारी पक्षियों और वन-पशुओं के लिये इकट्ठे पड़े रहेंगे। और माँसाहारी पक्षी तो उनको नोचते-नोचते धूपकाल बिताएँगे, और सब भाँति के वन पशु उनको खाते-खाते सर्दी काटेंगे।

7 in tempore illo deferetur munus Domino exercituum a populo divulso et dilacerato a populo terribili post quem non fuit alius a gente expectante expectante et conculcata cuius diripuerunt flumina terram eius ad locum nominis Domini exercituum montem Sion

७उस समय जिस जाति के लोग बलिष्ठ और सुन्दर हैं, और जो आदि ही से डरावने होते आए हैं, और जो सामर्थी और रौंदनेवाले हैं, और जिनका देश नदियों से विभाजित किया हुआ है, उस जाति से सेनाओं के यहोवा के नाम के स्थान सिय्योन पर्वत पर सेनाओं के यहोवा के पास भेंट पहुँचाई जाएगी।
