I Paralipomenon 25

1 igitur David et magistratus exercitus secreverunt in ministerium filios Asaph et Heman et Idithun qui prophetarent in citharis et psalteriis et cymbalis secundum numerum suum dedicato sibi officio servientes

David also divided off with the chiefs of the host for the service of the sons of Assaph, and of Heman, and of Jeduthun, those who uttered praise [accompanied] with harps, with psalteries, and with cymbals: and their number was of the men [that did] the work in their service.

2 de filiis Asaph Zacchur et Ioseph et Nathania et Asarela filii Asaph sub manu Asaph prophetantis iuxta regem

Of the sons of Assaph: Zaccur, and Joseph, and Nethanyah, and Asharelah, the sons of Assaph under the supervision of Assaph, who uttered praise under the supervision of the king.

3 porro Idithun filii Idithun Godolias Sori Iesaias et Sabias et Matthathias sex sub manu patris sui Idithun qui in cithara prophetabat super confitentes et laudantes Dominum

Of Jeduthun, the sons of Jeduthun: Gedalyahu, and Zeri, and Jesha'yahu, Chashahyahu, and Matthithyahu, six, under the supervision of their father Jeduthun, who uttered praise with a harp, in order to give thanks and to utter praise unto the Lord.

4 Heman quoque filii Heman Bocciau Matthaniau Ozihel Subuhel et Ierimoth Ananias Anani Elietha Geddelthi et Romemthiezer et Iesbacasa Mellothi Othir Mazioth

Of Heman, the sons of Heman: Bukkiyahu, Matthanyahu, 'Uzziel, Shebuel, and Jerimoth, Chananyah, Chanani, Eliathah, Giddalti, and Romamti-'ezer, Joshbekashah, Mallothi, Hothir, and Machaz'oth;

5 omnes isti filii Heman videntis regis in sermonibus Dei ut exaltaret cornu deditque Deus Heman filios quattuordecim et filias tres

All these sons of Heman the king's seer in the words of God, were to lift up the horn. And God gave to Heman fourteen sons and three daughters.

6 universi sub manu patris sui ad cantandum in templo Domini distributi erant in cymbalis et psalteriis et citharis in ministeria domus Domini iuxta regem Asaph videlicet et Idithun et Heman

All these were under the supervision of their father at the singing in the house of the Lord, with cymbals, psalteries, and harps, for the service of the house of God, under the supervision of the king, Assaph, Jeduthun, and Heman.

7 fuit autem numerus eorum cum fratribus suis qui erudiebant canticum Domini cuncti doctores ducenti octoginta octo

And their number, with their brethren that were practised in singing unto the Lord, even all that were acquainted [therewith], was two hundred eighty and eight.

8 miseruntque sortes per vices suas ex aequo tam maior quam minor doctus pariter et indoctus

And they cast lots, division against [division], the small well as the great, the one acquainted with his business together with the scholar.

9 egressaque est sors prima Ioseph qui erat de Asaph secunda Godoliae ipsi et filiis eius et fratribus duodecim

And there came forth the first lot for Assaph for Joseph; Gedalyahu was the second, he with his brethren and sons, being twelve:

10 tertia Zacchur filiis et fratribus eius duodecim

The third was Zaccur, his sons, and his brethren, being twelve:

11 quarta Isari filiis et fratribus eius duodecim

The fourth was for Yizri, his sons, and his brethren, being twelve;

12 quinta Nathaniae filiis et fratribus eius duodecim

The fifth was Nethanyahu, his sons, and his brethren, being twelve:

13 sexta Bocciau filiis et fratribus eius duodecim

The sixth was Bukkiyahu, his sons, and his brethren, being twelve:

14 septima Israhela filiis et fratribus eius duodecim

The seventh was Jessarelah, his sons, and his brethren, being twelve;

15 octava Isaiae filiis et fratribus eius duodecim

The eighth was Jesha'yahu, his sons, and his brethren, being twelve;

16 nona Matthaniae filiis et fratribus eius duodecim

The ninth was Matthanyahu, his sons, and his brethren, being twelve;

17 decima Semeiae filiis et fratribus eius duodecim

The tenth was Shim'i, his sons, and his brethren, being twelve;

18 undecima Ezrahel filiis et fratribus eius duodecim

The eleventh was 'Asarel, his sons, and his brethren, being twelve;

19 duodecima Asabiae filiis et fratribus eius duodecim

The twelfth was for Chashahyah, his sons, and his brethren, being twelve;

20 tertiadecima Subahel filiis et fratribus eius duodecim

The thirteenth was Shuhael, his sons, and his brethren, being twelve;

21 quartadecima Matthathiae filiis et fratribus eius duodecim

The fourteenth was Matthithyahu, his sons, and his brethren, being twelve;

22 quintadecima Ierimoth filiis et fratribus eius duodecim

The fifteenth was for Jeremoth, his sons, and his brethren, being twelve;

23 sextadecima Ananiae filiis et fratribus eius duodecim

The sixteenth was for Chananyahu, his sons, and his brethren, being twelve;

24 septimadecima Iesbocasae filiis et fratribus eius duodecim

The seventeenth was for Joshbekashah, his sons, and his brethren, being twelve;

25 octavadecima Anani filiis et fratribus eius duodecim

The eighteenth was for Chanani, his sons, and his brethren, being twelve;

26 nonadecima Mellothi filiis et fratribus eius duodecim

The nineteenth was for Mallothi, his sons, and his brethren, being twelve;

27 vicesima Eliatha filiis et fratribus eius duodecim

The twentieth was for Eliyathah, his sons, and his brethren, being twelve;

28 vicesima prima Othir filiis et fratribus eius duodecim

The one and twentieth was for Hothir, his sons, and his brethren, being twelve;

29 vicesima secunda Godollathi filiis et fratribus eius duodecim

The two and twentieth was for Giddalthi, his sons, and his brethren, being twelve;

30 vicesima tertia Maziuth filiis et fratribus eius duodecim

The three and twentieth was for Machasioth, his sons, and his brethren, being twelve;

31 vicesima quarta Romamthiezer filiis et fratribus eius duodecim

The four and twentieth was for Romamthi-'eser, his sons and his brethren, being twelve.
