And he dealt out to every one of Israel, both man and woman, to every one a loaf of bread, and a piece of flesh, and a flagon of wine.
And he placed before the ark of the Lord several of the Levites as ministers, and to chaunt hymns, and to give praise and thanks unto the Lord the God of Israel:
5 Asaph principem et secundum eius Zacchariam porro Iahihel et Semiramoth et Ieihel et Matthathiam et Eliab et Banaiam et Obededom et Ieihel super organa psalterii et lyras Asaph autem ut cymbalis personaret
Assaph the chief, and next to him Zechariah; Je'iel, and Shemiramoth, and Jechiel, and Matthithyah, and Eliab, and Benayahu, and 'Obed-edom; and Je'iel with psalteries and with harps; but Assaph played aloud with the cymbals.
6 Banaiam vero et Azihel sacerdotes canere tuba iugiter coram arca foederis Domini
And Benayahu and Jachaziel the priests were with the trumpets continually before the ark of the covenant of God.
On that day—then did David appoint for the first time to give thanks to the Lord through means of Assaph and his brethren.

Which he covenanted with Abraham, and his oath unto Isaac;
17 et constituit illud Iacob in praeceptum et Israhel in pactum sempiternum
And which he established unto Jacob as a statute, unto Israel as an everlasting covenant;
18 dicens tibi dabo terram Chanaan funiculum hereditatis vestrae
Saying, Unto thee will I give the land of Canaan, as the portion of your inheritance;
When ye were but few men in number; yea, very few, and strangers in it.
And when they wandered from one nation to another, and from one kingdom to another people:
21 non dimisit quemquam calumniari eos sed increpuit pro eis reges
He suffered no man to oppress them; yea, he reproved kings for their sake.

30 commoveatur a facie illius omnis terra ipse enim fundavit orbem inmobilem
Tremble before him, all ye lands! Also the world standeth firmly, that it be not moved.
31 laetentur caeli et exultet terra et dicant in nationibus Dominus regnavit
Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad; and let men say among the nations, The Lord reigneth.
Let the sea roar, with all that filleth it: let the fields rejoice, and all that is therein.

O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good; because unto everlasting endureth his kindness.
