< Psalmorum 75 >
1 Psalmus Cantici Asaph, in finem, ne corrumpas. Confitebimur tibi Deus: confitebimur, et invocabimus nomen tuum. Narrabimus mirabilia tua:
“To the chief musician, Al-tashcheth, a psalm or song of Asaph.” We give thanks unto thee, O God, we give thanks, and nigh is thy name: men relate thy wondrous deeds.
2 cum accepero tempus, ego iustitias iudicabo.
“For I will take up a fixed time when I will judge uprightly.
3 Liquefacta est terra, et omnes qui habitant in ea: ego confirmavi columnas eius.
The earth and all her inhabitants are melting away: I myself establish firmly her pillars.” (Selah)
4 Dixi iniquis: Nolite inique agere: et delinquentibus: Nolite exaltare cornu:
I said unto the arrogant, Deal not arrogantly: and to the wicked, Lift not up the horn.
5 Nolite extollere in altum cornu vestrum: nolite loqui adversus Deum iniquitatem.
Lift not up on high your horn, speak not with a stiffly erect neck.
6 Quia neque ab Oriente, neque ab Occidente, neque a desertis montibus:
For neither from the rising [of the sun], nor from [his] setting, nor from the wilderness of mountains [cometh this];
7 quoniam Deus iudex est. Hunc humiliat, et hunc exaltat:
But God is the judge: he lowereth one, and lifteth up another,
8 quia calix in manu Domini vini meri plenus misto. Et inclinavit ex hoc in hoc: verumtamen faex eius non est exinanita: bibent omnes peccatores terrae.
For there is a cup in the hand of the Lord, and the wine foameth, it is full of mixture: and he poureth out of the same; but its lees they drain, they drink—all the wicked of the earth.
9 Ego autem annunciabo in saeculum: cantabo Deo Iacob.
But I will declare for ever, I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.
10 Et omnia cornua peccatorum confringam: et exaltabuntur cornua iusti.
And all the horns of the wicked will I hew off; but the horns of the righteous shall be exalted.
