< Psalmorum 70 >

1 Psalmus David, in finem, In rememorationem, quod salvum fecit eum Dominus. Deus in adiutorium meum intende: Domine ad adiuvandum me festina.
To the chief Musician, [A Psalm] of David, to bring to remembrance. [Make haste], O God, to deliver me; make haste to help me, O LORD.
2 Confundantur, et revereantur, qui quaerunt animam meam:
Let them be ashamed and confounded that seek after my soul: let them be turned backward, and put to confusion, that desire my hurt.
3 Avertantur retrorsum, et erubescant, qui volunt mihi mala: Avertantur statim erubescentes, qui dicunt mihi: Euge, euge.
Let them be turned back for a reward of their shame that say, Aha, aha.
4 Exultent et laetentur in te omnes qui quaerunt te, et dicant semper: Magnificetur Dominus: qui diligunt salutare tuum.
Let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee: and let such as love thy salvation say continually, Let God be magnified.
5 Ego vero egenus, et pauper sum: Deus adiuva me. Adiutor meus, et liberator meus es tu: Domine ne moreris.
But I [am] poor and needy: make haste unto me, O God: thou [art] my help and my deliverer; O LORD, make no tarrying.
