< Psalmorum 146 >
1 Alleluia, Aggaei, et Zachariae.
Alleluia, [a Psalm] of Aggaeus and Zacharias. My soul, praise the Lord.
2 Lauda anima mea Dominum, laudabo Dominum in vita mea: psallam Deo meo quamdiu fuero. Nolite confidere in principibus:
While I live will I praise the Lord: I will sing praises to my God as long as I exist.
3 in filiis hominum, in quibus non est salus.
Trust not in princes, nor in the children of men, in whom there is no safety.
4 Exibit spiritus eius, et revertetur in terram suam: in illa die peribunt omnes cogitationes eorum.
His breath shall go forth, and he shall return to his earth; in that day all his thoughts shall perish.
5 Beatus, cuius Deus Iacob adiutor eius, spes eius in Domino Deo ipsius:
Blessed is he whose helper is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the Lord his God:
6 qui fecit caelum et terram, mare, et omnia, quae in eis sunt.
who made heaven, and earth, the sea, and all things in them: who keeps truth for ever:
7 Qui custodit veritatem in saeculum, facit iudicium iniuriam patientibus: dat escam esurientibus. Dominus solvit compeditos:
who executes judgment for the wronged: who gives food to the hungry. The Lord looses the fettered ones:
8 Dominus illuminat caecos. Dominus erigit elisos, Dominus diligit iustos.
the Lord gives wisdom to the blind: The Lord sets up the broken down: the Lord loves the righteous: the Lord preserves the strangers;
9 Dominus custodit advenas, pupillum et viduam suscipiet: et vias peccatorum disperdet.
he will relieve the orphan and widow: but will utterly remove the way of sinners.
10 Regnabit Dominus in saecula Deus tuus Sion, in generatione et generationem.
The Lord shall reign for ever, [even] your God, O Sion, to all generations.
